Cool place to hang out every now and again. I’d go back.

I’ve been here twice, seven years apart. The food is good. I had the nachos with shredded beef and they were huge!!! Very filling. They have a good size selection of bottle beer and a smaller selection on tap. The service was great. We had Jenny as our server. She was fantastic. Friendly, polite, not over baring nor did she ignore us. They have pretty standard bar food. Good size portions. The popcorn was very good. It must be a northern thing to have popcorn to snack on. If we have to come back to the Mayo Clinic and have time, I will come back and eat.

Atmosphere, food and service is always spectacular. Make sure to check out the bartenders, which I like looking at more than the booze. Josh is definitely a crowd favorite. Light fare is great as well as the appetizers! Go around 3:30−5, get an app and a nice cold beer! Will absolutely never disappoint.

Don’t bother bringing a group here for happy hour, the owner will not accommodate and is very rude about it. saying that his regulars take precedence over everyone else. Wait staff is great, but the owner kills the experience.

Won’t recommend. Selling 16 oz tap beers as 22 oz for $ 5 is not really a good way make fast money.

On a Wednesday, brought a crowd of about twenty in for happy hour after telling the owner there might be a dozen. As the place started to fill, he reprimanded me, telling me we had too many people and there were no tables for his regulars. Just the same, we were spending good money, but he ruined the fun atmosphere. He lost a bunch of customers because of his scolding us. We are spreading the word.

Good bartenders, good value, nice place to watch a football game in a pinch and need decent food. $ 3.00 off appetizers during a football game. Beer is fairly cheap. I’ll be back again!

Two words: pretzel basket. AMAZING! Their food and popcorn are always good. LOVE this place and make it a point to go there whenever I’m in town!!! :) p. s. the service can be spotty at times, but usually good and the food makes up for it :)

Forget Newt’s. These guys have the best burger in Rochester. A fresh patty cooked on open flame. Ignore all the toppings and whatnot, I’m talking about the burger itself. For reference my other places in town for burgers are Roscoes 4th St, BWW&5 Guys. I don’t go here much, but anytime someone wants to go out for burgers or asks me where’s a good burger — its Beetles.

Beetles is one of my go to places when it comes to a good lunch. The open face turkey sandwich is one of my favorites.

Pleased to see Surly Furious on tap but the new burger special with blue cheese and buffalo sauce ordered rare arrived medium well done as the waitress warned me it might with steamed carrots and bits of broccoli and cauliflower. The burger was a job to eat as it was tough and flavorless, reminiscent of a cafeteria burger. The vegetables were cold and unappetizing.

Great place for a week day happy hour. If you end up having dinner there I would recommend the Turkey Rachel and sweet potato fries.

My favorite spot in town to eat a casual meal. The chicken strips are awesome, the fries the best in town and best popcorn in town. Don’t get Potato mountain(but why would anyone?) and you’ll love it.

Disclaimer: the review is based on the food, not the bar. I don’t understand this place. I don’t understand why it’s always SOPACKED. And the reason I know this is not because I am a frequent patron of Beetles; it’s because I use the dry cleaner over there. Anyway… was not impressed. The food is average at best. If I’m sitting around wondering where I should go for some decent bar food, Beetles would not be in my top 7(and this is Rochester…) It’s average and I don’t remember it being a particularly great deal. And everyone eating there was over 60… I felt like a little kid.

I am pretty sick of the high prices of the bars downtown and always enjoy going to Beetles! Jeff, their main bartender has been there just about every time and always remembers what I drink. The food is very good, and the drink prices are cheap. Good job guys, and Highly recommended.

So *this* is where all the locals go to get away from the visitors! This place is somewhat of a dive, with really curious décor of rolley-chairs and wavy ceilings. It’s a sports bar, but the only indication of this is the TVs. The food is standard-fare, and they also have popcorn to chomp on.

The appetizers at Beetles are the best in town. My favorites are the potato mountain and the super nachos. The beer selection is decent, and Beetle makes an apple pie shot that really hits the spot on a cold evening. The wait staff is courteous and efficient, and the popcorn is terrific.

We’ve been here 2Xs and the food was great both times. The hamburger was large and tasty and the fried chicken was good. It was pretty crowded but we were ordering to go so it was no problem. The people were friendly and helpful in suggesting the closest video rental store. Will definitely be returning to this bar & grill.

I’ll say upfront that I do plan to go back sometime that isn’t a Friday night during Happy Hour. Went on a Friday night due to the gang at work having a Happy Hour get together. First of all, the parking lot is far too small. There was nowhere to park in the lot or for about three blocks up the street. Parked across the busy street and had to risk becoming roadkill(no crosswalk for blocks) to get there. Once there, there was no place to sit. The person who had arranged this had called early in the week to make a reservation for 40 at 4:00. «20 at 4:30» chirped the reservation-taker. «No, 40 @ 4:00» replied the reservation-maker. «Mmmm, okie» chirped the reservation-taker who apparently stuck with her first statement because there was nowhere near enough tables reserved and any time the group tried to grab a table as it opened up they were chastised by the waitstaff. To be fair, the place was PACKED. However, it was several minutes before our drink order was taken, we were never offered a menu, let alone food(though others in the party were eating food… and it looked delicious. but this was not our night to find out). The drink prices were reasonable. We had to hunt down the waitress to pay. I gave her more than a decent tip so in case we ever go back we won’t get an automatic«oh, you were with the big party who had $ 300 worth of food/beverages and all I got was a $ 5 tip» snub. I’ll go back another time, to give it a fair chance, but am honestly not expecting anything too great. A parking spot in the same ZIP code would be nice, though.
