Battisti’s Salon & Day Spa

I’ve been a loyal Shear Ego client for a long time, at least six years. My last stylist there, although super sweet and good, just wasn’t consistent enough for my liking and for the price. I felt like my highlights were turning brassy very quickly, and despite me saying «no gold» every time. I didn’t even know where to start with looking for a new stylist, so I turned to a friend who had such pretty hair. I wanted something lighter, but her hair always looked so good. She turned me one to a stylist, Deanna, who works at Battisti’s. I’m an east side girl, so there is NO way I would have ever found this salon without her recommendation. It’s in a cute little building on Chili Avenue in Gates.
I went in nervous (this was my hair, people), and I explained to Deanna what I was looking for and what I was struggling with, color-​wise. She was patient, and sweetly explained that despite my wishes for ashen, cool blonde tones, my hair had a TON of gold in it. She suggested a full head highlight the first time, to help get the gold out. She worked quickly, and after giving me one of the best blowouts I’ve had (without the use of a hair straightener!), she turned me around, and wow! I was amazed. My hair was light and blonde, but gone were the brassy tones. My skin looked more better, and my eyes looked brighter. She also recommended two different shampoos to use, one a strengthening one, and one to help keep the gold at bay. I’ve been back again where I was able to get a half head of highlights, a cut and finish for $ 70 plus tip. I liked that she was laid back and friendly, but wasn’t shy about giving me her honest opinion about what would work for me. That’s what we pay hair stylists for, right?
This place (and Deanna in particular) are a hidden diamond! I am so glad I found both the salon (all the staff I encountered were very friendly), and Deanna!

Beat facial in rochester by far. It’s a family owned business and they really make you feel like you’re part of the family. When you first walk in they greet you by your name. They will make sure you don’t need a drink and even have snacks. Laura did my facial and my skin felt so bad going in. By the time I left I felt like a different lady. Even weeks after I get one done it still feels fresh and new!
