We LOVE this place. We live within walking distance and this is restaurant #4(toscani grill, Taco loco, Chapman’s Mill) in the 10 years since we moved here. FINALLY they got it right. First of all, I love a good cocktail and they have a rather extensive $ 7 cocktail menu. I hope to try them all. I hear they have great beer choices too. Ask someone else. Second of all, we have eaten here 6 times and I have enjoyed everything. I even tried my kids BBQ bacon burger and I almost slid off my chair; I think it was the best burger I ever had, so if you cant decide, get the burger. I love their salads. One night I wasn’t very hungry, I had the«wedge» salad. Delish. All the appetizers are great, especially the pretzel bites. although in all honesty, I didn’t particularly care for their take on nachos. If you just want ordinary nachos, Avery’s aren’t it, but if you’re feeling adventurous, go for it. We think the prices are very good! In regards to some of the bad reviews, We have had a couple instances where the service was slow, so don’t be in a hurry when you come. Order an appetizer. Relax. Enjoy yourselves and the food/drinks/game. Totally worth it.

Awesome place to watch sports, several tvs and every game is on including volume of main game. Food, service and the atmosphere is best in the area. Place is not as busy as it deserves to be which is why we have kept it our secret but this place deserves to be packed.

We love Avery’s Tavern for all sports games. They really gave the best bar set up in town to watch multiple games at the same time. They have a great staff that’s very friendly & helpful. You really should go check out their Bloody Mary special on Sundays. We just tried the pizza today for the first time and it was very yummy & all the ingredients are fresh. Great local bar for food & drinks! It’s better than the Clubhouse across the street & you don’t have to wait

The recent reviews of this tavern almost scared us away but I’m glad we gave it a try. We stopped in last Friday night and were able to get a seat at the bar. The restaurant has a bar section, a restaurant section, and a banquet area. The two female bartenders were really busy and never stopped moving the entire night, but our service never lacked. I have heard many complaints about the wait staff in general, but I have nothing negative to say about the bartenders. They were on their game. We began with the avacado eggrolls which were deep fried, crunchy won ton wrappers filled with guacamole. They were perfectly spicy but not too hot. I can’t wait to have them again! We then tried the pretzels bites. I was anticipating soft pretzel bites and was not expecting them to be deep fried. I was not a fan. When the bartender noticed they sat untouched, she took them off our bill without being asked. For our entrees, I had the creole pasta(substituting cajun steak bites for the other protein). It was delicious and I wish I hadn’t consumed so much of our appetizers because I could only eat less than half of my meal. My husband ordered the chicken pot pie. It was also delicious and I kept stealing bites of his crust. A young band began playing around 9:00 p.m. They were great and the bartender told us it was their first time playing at Avery’s but not their last. The group had a nice following and played a wide variety of music genres. We really enjoyed the music and sang along to many songs before we called it a night. We originally tried Avery’s as an alternate option for our go-to tavern, Clubhouse BFD. I think Avery’s may end up in our regular line-up of taverns.

I had a steak sandwich on ciabatta bread with fries for lunch here the other day. Food was very good, service was average. Seems like a pretty good place to grab lunch or maybe have some drinks on the weekend

We stopped into this restaurant with another family for dinner Friday night. The first clue something was wrong should have been the fact that there were not many other patrons in the restaurant. The atmosphere was pleasant and the entertainment/singer was excellent. Despite the lack of clientele, the service was horrific. It took forever to get drinks and the waiter continually apologized for the delay. The menu is limited and the waiter was not knowledgeable about any of the selections. After 30 minutes of waiting for the food we finally cancelled the order and prepared to leave. The manager, Jeff, came to the table. We advised him we simply wanted to cash out and leave and he actually became confrontational and accusatory regarding our decision to leave. Jeff continued to talk which was a mistake and actually became belligerent. Avoid this place, there are plenty of other great restaurants in close proximity including Eastside Marios.

Great staff, which is hard to come by these days. Food is exceptional. For example, Philadelphia steak sandwich is made with Gruyère and the kids fish and chips is made with homemade batter(comes with two large fish«sticks») and is delicious! We love this place!

Went twice and it was sub par at best. The service was terrible. There wasn’t more than 10 people there for lunch on a Saturday and it probably took 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. After waiting for another 10 or 15 minutes, I finally had to go search for waitress and saw her in the kitchen talking to other staff oblivious that we hadn’t received anything yet. I have asked friends and coworkers and they said they had similar bad experience. Won’t be open long. The only reason it got 2 stars is because the food was pretty good despite the long wait. Won’t be back.

I went for lunch this past Friday with my hubby. He ordered the Ahi tuna sandwich and i the Mediterranean flatbread. The flatbread was simply awful. The roasted garlic was more just jar garlic and loads of it. The tomatoes were little cubes and barely any basil. The taste was pure garlic and feta. I only had a couple of pieces and when asked by the waitress if i liked it, i told her no. She did not offer compensation but just agreed it will most likely be taken off the menu. I was hoping for some sort of meal replacement or discount at the very least. I will go back to try other menu items.

Don’t be fooled by its location, or surroundings! The place is comfortable, like being in someone’s high end finished basement, that may sound weird… Trust me it’s nice in there, a warm change of pace… The place seems like it was renovated from top to bottom a few days ago! Drinks were well priced, strong pours and well proportioned… Kind of a rarity these days. Only had two appetizers, the spinach artichoke dip and the pretzel bites, and they were both 10’s! Glad to see this place is doing well!

Drink service was slow. Server was fine, but owner was a jerk and lectured me about the way I spoke with him while he was being a jerk to our table. Won’t be back.

I decided to try this place and was happy to find something new. Had a great appetizer and the waitress was very friendly and accomodating. Good food wish they had a bigger menu. Took forever to be seated Second time the service was horrible slow to be seated again bad slow service. Place wasn’t busy for a Saturday night. Waitress was weird no personality. Charged me for ranch and messed my order up. To management get someone to actually host so people are seated promptly and tell waitresses to fake they want to serve customers. Don’t charge for ranch no good restaurants do.

Food is amazing. Never have I had anything bad. The pretzel bites are the best. Portions are perfect size. Beer and drink choices are huge. Can accommodate special diets as needed. Service is fast. Weekend music has been great every time we have been there. Plus the outside seating in nice in the warm weather.

I’ve been hosting Quizzo! At Avery’s for about 5 or 6 months now, and have had the opportunity to try a little of the food on their menu and meet most of wait staff and management. I have to say that this is one of my favorite bars to hangout at. The atmosphere is great, with amazing food and excellent service. I always look forward to coming in each week and often stop on on non-quizzo days. Glad to see the restaurant took of and is doing well. Overall I would highly recommend Avery’s to anyone looking for good food and drinks at a reasonable price.

I didn’t get the appetizer I ordered. My steak was very over-cooked and my friend’s fries were gross. Mushroom soup was good, strawberry basil cocktail was good. Service was very slow. The server took forever just to come take our drink orders. The server didn’t even bring us a check. We finally just put our cards on the table and she took those. This was my second time here and it will be my last. Go to Clubhouse BFD just down the street – it is a million times better.

Overall, I enjoyed my meal. I had the salmon, it wasn’t the best but it was good. Red Lobster’s salmon is better. The appetizer I had, pretzel bites, was great! I’d get that again and again. If you want to watch sporting events on many flat screen TVs in a family friendly environment, you’d dig this place. My server, Kyleen, was attentive and charming! Great job for a recently opened business!!!

We ordered Calimari, tomato basil soup, vegetable barley soup, sriracha bourbon salmon, fish & chips, and cheesecake! Everything was delicious! Serving sizes were nice, with just enough left over to make for a nice snack later. Waitress was attentive without hovering, patios was very nice and tranquil. We came midweek, during lunch. Not super busy; bonus — great music! 90’s and millenial music, leaning towards rock/alternative… VERY enjoyable. In a side note: I ordered the portobello mushroom burger thinking it was made from mushroom, not just topped with it — when I exchanged my food, the waitress was very happy to do so & my new dish(salmon) came out in a very timely manner & was great!

I came with a group and everyone’s food was cold, and the restaurant was essentially empty at dinner time. I ordered the Ahi Tacos, and it’s clear the chefs haven’t tried the dishes they’re cooking, because a thick layer of wasabi coated the tortilla. Anyone who knows what wasabi tastes like(even the wasabi-lovers) knows that you only need a pinch to add flavor… Imagine a wasabi-drenched tortilla. My entire existence burned. Also, fresh ginger slices are yummy, but not thrown on top of a taco… Sorry, Avery’s. My mom ordered buffalo sliders, they brought out pulled pork sliders. My brother’s ribs were still a little frozen. Yikes! The man next to us was also served a beer with the top broken off. Yes, a BROKENGLASSBOTTLE was served to this man. So unfortunate since we live nearby and were excited that something opened up at the old Chapman’s location.
