this is the worst resteraunt I have been to in my life. When we went there nobody else was thee which was kind of weird. The food looked disgusting and tasted like really old food. Most of the stuff was completely cold. Yuk

Where to begin… tonight was our second visit to Champion’s. Our first visit was very good so we wanted to go back. We live in McDonough, GA, so it is a little bit of a journey to get there. They require reservations, which I made both times. However, on this visit, when I called to make a reservation I was told they only had patio or back porch seating. I said okay, but at the time I had no idea what I was getting myself into. And after«getting myself into it,» I think the management should have warned us about the black flies. It is an ongoing problem, because the waitress told us they had a big problem with flies and didn’t know what to do about it. Based on her comments, we should have been forewarned so that we would have made a better decision. And by flies, I’m not talking one or two… I am talking 25 – 30 flies with no exaggeration. There could have been more. I could not eat… just not appetizing or appealing. The waitress asked how our food was, and when I told her I couldn’t eat it because of all the flies, she just said she was sorry… no offering to give us a discount on our meal. So I paid $ 25 for a meal I couldn’t eat. In addition, the waitress never brought and/or offered any bread. I went inside to go the restroom, and there were at least three empty tables in the restaurant. My husband did eat… he said he wasn’t going to pay that kind of money and not eat. He kept swatting away the flies and trying to eat. On the two occasions he went back inside, he said there were still empty tables inside. After our complaints about the flies, we could/should have been offered a table inside, but we weren’t. We may or may not go back; we haven’t decided yet. In the meantime, we will stick to our regulars…6th Street Pier in Griffin and Barnstormer’s Grill in Williamson, GA. If you decide to go, be forewarned that you should not try to eat outside. Having a drink while listening to the music is okay, but if you try to eat while on the patio, your table will be taken over by the black flies. Note to management… there are boxes you can purchase. The flies go in and can’t get back out. 15th Street Pizza in McDonough has them, and they actually work.

My Husband & I found this gem of a place on Sunday as we drove through Roberta. Service & food was excellent; we left very pleased and know we will come again! We had the Buffet and pricing is very reasonable. The Peach & Cream cake is awesome!

Wow, was in Roberta at lunch time, didn’t want subway, so I looked on Unilocal and was surprised to find Champions and a review. Very friendly service, fairly quick lunch, tasty food. Give em a try!

What a fantastic little place! Driving through Roberta, Georgia(which I didn’t know existed until last week), we needed lunch and a friend recommended that we try Champion’s. This restaurant is a newish coffee and sandwich shop that is apparently a big hit with the locals. The menu is pretty large for such a small town restaurant, and there’s everything from specialty salads to sandwiches and a few other really cool items. I ordered the veggie philly cheesesteak and a side of the broccoli apple salad. Both were really quite delicious. I was impressed. We sat on the porch and enjoyed the cool weather, and our waitress was really sweet. Prices were also really reasonable. If I’m ever back in the area, I know just exactly where I’ll be stopping. Thanks, Champion’s!
