Room service from the Regency Room counts as dining there, right? The food of the Regency Room with the convenience of staying in your sweatpants. The full dinner menu is available for room service after 6, but we were in a time crunch and the kitchen said they could make it a bit earlier-wonderful! Between my mother and I, we shared the Peanut Soup, Sautéed Spinach, Spoon Bread, and the Crab Cake, along with a basket of warm, delicious seed bread came with our order. I had never had peanut soup prior to this, so I was unsure of what to expect, but it was pretty good! I had the sample size, which I highly recommend if you just want a taste! The sautéed spinach was wonderfully garlicky and flavorful, and the spoon bread was great-the flavor was much like a sweet cornbread, but with the texture of bread pudding. Finally, the crab cake: it was incredibly delicious and there were large chunks of crab everywhere-no fillers here! However, the crab cake entrée(that we subbed fries for the chowder), rings in at $ 35, which is far too much for a single crab cake in my opinion, even as good as it was. Overall, the Regency Room has some delicious, elegant food… and getting it delivered is even better. However, I think I needed an extra crab cake if it’s going to cost that much!

Everything was delicious. My boyfriend had the hanger steak which he said was the best steak he ever had. I had a shrimp and scallop dish that was perfectly prepared. A+++

If you are traveling to Roanoke you must stay at this hotel. It is walking distance to the museums and beautiful historic Roanoke. The hotel restaurant is the best of the best in both quality, taste, and service. Let me suggest to ask for Drew because he is knowledgable and super friendly.

This restaurant is amazing. The waiters are wearing the traditional white Blazers as they take care of your every need. While the food is a little pricey, it’s worth it! Compliments to the chef as he prepared my Hangar Steak perfectly! Bravo!

We had breakfast buffet in the dining room. I really enjoyed the smoked salmon with capers, red onion, hard boiled egg, and cream cheese. It’s a pretty typical buffet otherwise — omelet station, bacon, sausage, potatoes, eggs, muffins, fruit. Excellent service from host, bussers, and servers — everyone was very friendly, efficient, and professional with a definite fine-dining vibe.

This place is top notch all the way. I enjoyed a perfectly cooked filet and service was out of this world. If you’re looking for a wonderful meal in a tasteful establishment look no further!

A 5-star restaurant in my opinion and one of the best restaurants in Roanoke. We went for a Saturday brunch. Everything was cooked to perfection and the spices were just right, not overly strong or bland. The beef ribs were so tender that it could melt in your mouth. The salmon was excellent. The pasta salad, vegetable medley and yeast rolls were all good. The desserts were awesome as well. We had to try several(and left stuffed). The coffee was to perfection. Everyone in my party raved about how good everything was and we wanted to try everything. One of the ladies in my party had a birthday and they brought her a long white plate that was decorated with a piece of cheesecake, strawberries and«Happy Birthday» written in chocolate !!! Now how sweet was that? There was nothing about the meal I did not like. Our waitress was very polite and took our plates immediately. The atmosphere was very classy and one in my party said she felt like she was on the Titanic. It was definitely a memorable experience. I do not give 5 stars on a regular basis, but this restaurant deserves it.

Tremendous service. Excellent in every way. Try the peanut soup. It’s not what you’ll think it will be: not too sweet, not too thick — just interesting flavors and texture. Finally, you must order the hazelnut latte chocolate cake. It’s the best dessert I’ve ever had. I don’t care for sweets and desserts bore me, but this was delicious. I would go back just for this and the excellent service.

Beautiful landmark Hotel. Just wish they were more attentive making this quaint. Food is not good. Bed comfortable. Great location to walk around town.

We took out-of-town guests to the Regency Room for Thanksgiving Dinner as a special treat, but were disappointed in the service. The food was good, but our waitress disappeared once our drinks came. Our water was not refilled and my husband actually had to remove our dirty plates as she didn’t return until the check came. The check included a 20% gratuity, which she didn’t mention when she brought the check. Our reservations were for 7 p.m. and our waitress just seemed to have«checked out». I appreciate that it was a busy day, but if you’re going to take reservations for that late in the day the service should be the same as earlier in the day. Becky C.

Signature peanut soup, spoonbread, bread pudding with bourbon sauce for dessert. Took full advantage of a scrumptious buffet. Beautiful vegetables, lightly steamed, drizzled with balsamic reduction. Tabouli, refreshing bean salad, thick chicken salad. Mahi Mahi with pineapple salsa. Spicy Indian Butter chicken. And much more. Everything my husband and I tried was lovely to look at and a pleasure to eat.

Superb! We went for my husband’s birthday and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. They had live jazz music playing right in the center of the restaurant, which was really a great addition. What a jewel in downtown Roanoke. Everything we had was 5 stars. You must get the she crab soup. It was really a standout. The Regency Garden Salad was great, the shrimp and grits, the trout, and the hanger steak – all excellent!!! We finished with a tasty(free since it was his birthday) dessert, the hot and cold chocolate semifreddo. We can’t wait to go back and try their brunch! Two things to note: this is a very upscale restaurant so make sure to dress up, also make sure to get your valet parking ticket stamped so you don’t have to pay the $ 10 parking. :)

Sunday brunch is spectacular. Starts at 11:30 and is served until 2pm I believe. They had tons of food choices. We showed up at 11:30 and had a reservation for five — we were promptly seated at a nice large round table with comfortable leather chairs for five. Our server quickly came and asked what we’d like to drink — I ordered water, milk, coffee and orange juice. Haha. Why not. The coffee, once properly creamed and sugared, was very good. Our server came around and refilled our drinks periodically. The restaurant is very nicely laid out in a formal dining area which spans 2 – 3 rooms with the food mostly in the main room where the piano player played live music the entire time. The brunch spread consisted of breakfast goodies in the main dining area along the far right wall and a fresh omelet bar with fresh ingredients to mix in(it took about 5 minutes and you could choose between mushroom, onions, peppers, tomato, ham, bacon and spinach in your omelet). The breakfast goodies were things like biscuits and gravy, mini waffles, breakfast potatoes, bacon and sausage, fresh fruits, and breakfast pastries like muffins and scones and honey buns. There was a dessert bar with strawberry crème, cookie cake, bread pudding and juices. In the back room there was a salad bar, pasta salad area and several warm entrees and sides like mahi mahi and chicken and a fresh sliced beef station. There was also roasted zucchini, wild rice pilaf, cheese tortellinis and a few other goodies. The service was great, they were by no means over crowded so it didn’t get loud or have long lines, and we had a blast sitting and talking with friends enjoying ourselves and eating great food. The server came and took away plates as we finished up.

The dining experience at the Regency Room is extremely formal. It’s the type of place that the host pulls out the woman’s chair, and there’s a band that plays a jazzed up version of I shot the sheriff. We made a reservation on Open Table, although it wasn’t needed, on a Friday night the restaurant was half empty. We were the youngest people there by far. The food was heavy, but good. The service was slow, but friendly. It seemed as if they had their niche(the old people niche) greatly in hand, but they definitely have a lot of work to get young people interested.
