This place is very awkward had weird lettuce and taste really weird. And you can’t get stuff on your own so you feel like you don’t get everything you want!

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when all I heard about this place was southern style cafeteria food. But nothing too far from what the description was — southern food served cafeteria style. You grab a tray and utensils and head down the line to point out everything you want and someone will hand it to you with a smile. The staff is extremely polite and attentive. If you ask any questions on the food or have a special request, they’re very accommodating which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 2. The food is mediocre at best. I tried their highly recommended baked spaghetti and it was sloppy and extremely under seasoned as was much of their other foods. Even their mixed salad tasted similar to a watery mayo dressing. The fried foods are soggy and cold and everything except the desserts was under seasoned. On the plus side, the prices are very reasonable and the service is quick. Overall, I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back for the food but the servers are pleasant and very hospitable. If you’re looking for a quick and cheap sit down place to eat, K & W has you covered.

This place is a «must» do for my family. It is comfort food severed as named… cafeteria style. The servers will call you«honey» and«sweetie» and are happy to answer questions about ingredients. The prices are reasonable. Everyone can find something that works for them. If you don’t finish any item, there are to go containers. Win-win. Bonus points for the squares of jello.

K&W is simply the best southern food for the price you’ll find anywhere. Freshly prepared salads, entrees, SEASONED vegetables and homemade desserts complete the meal. Friday special is seafood platter, fried whiting, crab cake, pile of shrimp, coleslaw, French fries and hush puppies for — drumroll please, $ 8.25! Seriously, there was enough food to feed two senior citizens! That’s kind of the demo but a friendly group of regulars. This is a cafeteria but the servers are attentive and deserve a generous gratuity and as you can afford to be generous because the portions are large and the prices are so reasonable!

Swinging through on the way south and wanted something other than regular chain fast food. Had a good homey meal. Chicken livers and onions were great. Fried chicken was excellent. Décor is 70’s but clean and not worn.

The food is awful! I took a bite out of everything I bought but honestly couldn’t stand any of it. I got the baked spaghetti. The only reason I got that was because the people that serve the food that you stand in line for rush you through it like they are herding cattle. THEWORSTFOODEVER. It is filled with senior citizens and my guess for that is that the older you get the more you lose your tastebuds. We were not asked how we liked the food when we left for obvious reasons. I came home and made a sandwich. DONOTEATHERE.

Just ate their tonight with the wifey, totally disappointed in the food, will not eat dinner there any time soon, Fried whitening was cold and full of bones(we both sent back), macaroni and cheese swimming in water, my strawberry pie had plastic and the paper that comes on pie shells in it(pulled both out of my mouth). The only thing I did enjoy was the turnip greens. I cannot believe how bad this place has gotten. I’m sorry but their is no excuse for this type of service at a staple restaurant that has been in this city forever.
