Friendly staff, clean, good variety of diner food. There were a number of Sunday specials available with a good selection of side dishes. I had the pepper steak. I was traveling through and looking for a local place to eat, and it was worth a stop.

Great breakfast and delicious fried chicken lunch. Skip the phony 50’s dinner décor of some chains and get the real goods here. Yep they have not redecorated since Eisenhower was in the White House. Their prices also match their 50’s décor.

Staff 100% attentive, and who doesn’t like being called«sugar» every time you are addressed. Food. Country cooking? The Black Eyes Peas tasted canned and were barely warm i.e. not good. I should have sent the back but we were in a hurry Frozen Hush puppies in the South! Shame on you. Wonder Bread dinner rolls! Save your money on both. No one I saw was eating either of them The pan fried corn bread is one of the only reasons we will return. It is so good. I could make it a meal. to improve it 1. get rid of the margarine and offer real butter 2. make and offer honey butter to serve with it. It would be so awesome with your bread. The menu 1. is to busy. It took more time to read the menu than it did to re heat and eat the meal. 2. A fried bologna sandwich w/fries for $ 7.00! How a $ 1.50 worth of ingredients added up to that much is beyond me. 3. Your daily specials are what makes this place unique. Other stuff is fine but quality rather than quantity

Wonderful turkey club and fries in a kitschy(Andy Griffith motif) place. Older waitresses — some are funny and fun to talk to some are more on the«grouchy» side. We’ll worth a visit to a hole in the by the railroad tracks on 10th street in Roanoke Rapids, NC if you’re close. Probably not worth getting off the interstate for.
