This place doesn’t look like much, but this little side-of-the-road joint had some of the best breakfast food I have ever had. It’s not really located near anything else, but it’s a great meal for anyone staying at the nearby Roan Mountain State Park, as my friends and I were. I had a big breakfast with biscuits and gravy, eggs, and bacon. I also tried some of my friends’ pancakes. Everything was extremely well-made, and the biscuits and gravy were to die for. The staff was extremely friendly, and it was a great stop for our last day in Tennessee!

Eking out a living near Roan Mountain Tennessee isn’t always easy. Some people can’t even afford salt and pepper to put on their food. If you’re not looking for a memorable dining experience, this is it. The food will sustain life and the service is pleasant enough.

I’ve been waiting to write this review. I first want to say that the people that work here are very nice. Even though I had to wait for a while they made me feel like I was family. The food was average. There was nothing amazing or spectacular about it. The prices are very fair. The soda that I received in a to-go cup was my biggest complaint. I could taste the bleach in the soda. So if their cleaning the machines with bleach they need to rinse them more thoroughly. If I eat here again I’ll bring my own drink. The customer service and the information you get here is worth the stop. Enjoy.

In response to Veronica’s review on the Grill, there’s actually nothing racist about the Whiteway Grill, or its’ name. The location is below White Rock, high up on the mountain behind the grill. Be careful when you read reviews on Unilocal, there are a lot of un-knowing, misinformed people that love to get up on their soap boxes…

Eat the fried chicken! It alone is worth the 5-stars.
