I had high expectations for this place. There were 5 or so people there. Took 15 mins for the food which I don’t expect from a food truck. If the food was great it would’ve been worth the wait. Not so much. Tacos were ok at best. Apparently my opinion is not the popular one. I wish it were different because I really wanted wanted to like this place. Maybe I’ll give it another shot

Hidden away by Marathon gas station on on 301 a great spot for fresh quick and inexpensive Mexican food. The tacos are all good with a variety of fillings. The beans and rice also compliment everything. Great food worth the short wait and everything is just real tasty and for the price can, t beat. The sodas also cold and just a great spot for a quick snack and dinner. I must try the soup next as I, m Mexican and Puerto Rican, and know good Mexican food! This Mexirican highly ask you to give them a try a great alternative to Taco Bus who is getting too commercial and quality is waning. All my Riverview Latinos must try.

The place is really cheap and have good tasting tacos. I think this is the better alternative to Taco Bus but it’s only in Riverview. They have a decent amount of choices to choose from. Would have ghly recommended.

This was probably the best burrito I have ever had! Very friendly and great food. It’s a struggle for me not to keep returning.

This is one of the best local spots in the Riverview/Apollo Beach area. I stumbled upon this food truck by sheer accident once and boy was I glad I made that discovery. The food here is fantastic. You can’t beat the price for authentic Mexican fare and it’s just right off the main highway near our neighborhood. The guacamole is fantastic with just the right about of kick. Also the tacos are super tasty. The chicken was cooked perfectly with lots of flavor and the veggies were crisp and fresh.

Been driving past this taco shack for 2 months. Starving and not wanting to wait 40 minutes for a chain breakfast of GMO, we took a chance. This Latin food shack is the REALDEAL, but you must know the latino terms on the menu. We ordered tortas cubanas… OMG! Slow cooked pork in a vinegar jalapeño tasting sauce, thin slice of ham, chorizo, refried beans, Chihuahua cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and the most amazing cilantro garlic sauce on the side that unfortunately I don’t know the official name for. Served on guaraccha/huracha bread meaning a perfect football shaped bread perfect for portability and delivery of all the above deliciousness to my mouth while driving. In the top 5 sandwiches of my life, after Stone Soup Ybor Cuban pork.

oh, you like Mexican? oh, big fan of Taco Bus? Do yourself a favor and hit up Don Julios. Authentic, amazing and oh-so-good! My favs are the ground beef and the fried pork. Super cheap in prices and amazing quality. Make sure you grab some of their home made lemonade while you’re there too!

I love me a good hole in the wall, but this one didn’t live up to the hype. Sure, it’s definitely funky – a food truck next to a random defunct gas station with outdoor seating. And the price is right, sitting at two tacos for $ 3.50. But the quality just wasn’t high enough to qualify as authentic hole in the wall cuisine. I’m a stickler for good Mexican, having spent a fair amount of time in the middle of nowhere in that country. So I am absolutely out of this world thrilled to be able to find Tacos al Pastor on the menu(please note it is *not* available at Taco Bus). That was of course my order, along with a standard Carne Asada to try to waters so to speak. They were, quite frankly dry. The salsa while good was nothing fabulous. And, sacrilege to all good authentic tacos al pastor, there was no pineapple. Out of the side of a truck in the middle of Riverview, with outdoor seating and only fans, I honestly expected to feel like I was in Mexico eating quality authentic food. I was disappointed all around – although it was cooler than I expected with the fans.

This is a food truck, with folding tables/chairs on a concrete slab with a lot of fans beside an unattractive food market formerly a gas station. As others say way too many flies. Others say authentic but let’s face it, it’s conditions like these(along with other factors obviously) that Mexicans emigrate out of Mexico! Food was outstanding, authentic and huge portions! The beef soup is a meal onto itself with potatoes, carrots and corn. Burrito huge, tasty and authentic, chicken off the bone but with two bones still in the meat. Chips are the authentic kind with two different types of salsa, as much as you want — but if to go, get extras. Prices are reasonable but slightly higher then expected given the very low overhead. TIP: no restrooms and come with clean hands! I asked where to wash my hands and was pointed to a garden hose! Really!

Food was good but holy crap there were flies everywhere. Would have been one thing if they were just outside but they were inside the truck too since the windows and doors were wide open. Food was a good 3.5 but I was very hesitant to eat my meal after all the flies…

This is authentic! Their menu items(gorditas, tacos, quesadillas, tostadas, burrito, sopas) are reasonable with many meat options(carnitas, barbacoa, tripas, lengua, carné asada, etc). They have orcahta here which was really good. If you don’t like outdoor open seating, then they also offer the take out option so you can run off to a/c-haha. I didn’t mind the fans or covered seating area; it remained cool. I’d definately return whenever I get a chance to be in that area again.

Great authentic Mexican food at a good price. I showed up at 1100 on a Monday and there were a few people there, but by the time I left at 1200 it was pretty busy. Being from LA, I’m used to good Mexican food just about everywhere and I was craving some. This is the first place I’ve found that actually serves good authentic Mexican food. I enjoyed a ceviche tostada, asada burrito, and some horchata. All very good for about ten bucks. I was stuffed too. I was expecting normal taco truck portions so I ordered more. But it was a lot of food for how much you pay. I will go back and recommend to my friends.

This place was just such a wonderful find. I was traveling and saw this place next to a closed gas station. It is a food truck set up with an outside seating area. Do not let the outside deceive you. The menu was very simple with your traditional foods; tacos, burritos, gorditas and so forth. I went for the three tacos; chicken, steak and chorizo. Two of which I had with a crunchy shell. AMAZING. The shells were homemade and as fresh as possible. The chorizo was amazing, it was probably my favorite but the steak and chicken did fall far behind. You can have them topped with cilantro, onion, cheese and tomatoes. I went for it all. Do the same! The service was wonderful and I will absolutely come again!

Cooked fresh, be prepared to wait a bit! This place is very near home so we decided to give this place a try. Missing the 5 star Mexican food we use to have in California, we are always looking for the equivalent here. This is a taco truck kind place. Outdoor seating(so glad we live close in this heat) but plenty of fans blowing to try to keep it a bit cooler. The menu, on a board neat the order window, did not have prices next to the items so you had to ask what each thing cost, kinda weird. The girl waiting on us was very nice, no issue there. We had to wait a bit to get our food cuz it’s all mad fresh so we decided to check out the«vegetable market» they opened in the old Citgo station. Well that took all of one minute(don’t waste your time). Food was ready pretty quickly, so we took it home to eat. I had the three taco dinner with shredded beef, the Mexican way with just cilantro and chopped raw onion on corn tortilla with rice and beans. The tacos were quite good. Only issues were the dried out lime they gave so didn’t have any lime juice for the tacos, and they really should double up on the tortilla so they are easier to pick up. Rice and beans were forgettable. Hubby had the pork tacos, loaded, liked them but felt the same about the rice and beans. He also had a steak quesadilla which was not very good. All in all I was a bit disappointed with this place. But, the tacos were the closet to the ones I used to get in CA, which make me happy. Next time I will just get the tacos.

When will Unilocal give us half star capability? WHEN? If ever there was a 3 ½ star place, this is it. I know this is bad way to start a review but… Don Julio’s is a roadside stand on 301 near Big Bend. The food is good, not great, good. Had the carnitas taco dinner, 3 tacos choice of meat with rice and beans, $ 8. Wife had the beef tacos and we ordered a steak quesadilla. The tacos were very good, four star good. The rest of the food dragged the rating down a bit. All in all for Florida it’s good. If you’re familiar with Mexican out west it’s lacking.

We love coming to this hidden gem in Riverview recommended by a friend! Nothing like a family owned and operated food truck 5 minutes from home that’s delicious at the same time! Food: authentic! Our favorite are their tacos, made on either corn or flour tortillas and all the toppings. The shrimp soup is STELLAR! Fresh veggies and tons of large shrimp with tortillas and fresh cilantro and lemon, BOOM! Homemade guacamole is an added bonus too! Prices: inexpensive! Tacos are around $ 2 and the soup is under $ 10 for a large portion! Service: so friendly! We come here at least once a week — and when we see tons of locals there with us it reminds us why we keep coming back!

Wow wow wow! This place blows the other Mexican restaurants in the are out of the water! Hubs and I always enjoy steak quesadillas, chips w/freshly made guac, and carnitas taco. We get all that for $ 12 and are stuffed! No indoor seating… like a food truck… super friendly owners! We will definitely be regulars!
