This location is very disappointing. They were very busy when they first opened, but business has slowed down dramatically. They have so much chicken and french fries laying around that nothing tastes fresh. I have yet to get hot fresh fries here. The staff makes so many mistakes, I just can’t go back. They forget sauces, don’t even ask if you want any either. Forgetting biscuits, giving the wrong type of chicken, mild instead of spicy. Sometimes the blackened tenders, which are cooked to order, are really tasty and spicy, sometimes no flavor at all. Very inconsistent, staff seems very confused if you ask them any questions at all

If you like everything completely flavorless, this is the place for you! I am not a fan… Their service is okay, their biscuits are amazing, but everything else? Nope. I have been here a grand total of twice. The first time I ordered mild chicken and it was completely flavorless. My boyfriend is a big fan and asked me to give it another shot. I had no problem with the service, the issue is that the food at both of new Popeyes’ in our area just plains SUCKS! I don’t say that often, but WOW! New place or not, their chicken recipe needs some serious work for a place that is famous for their supposedly«good» chicken! The second time I was served COLD fries, just like before. I ordered their spicy chicken this time, hoping it would have some flavor, but it was basically flavorless too! There was almost no difference. I’ve been to Louisiana and this is NOT Louisiana style food, nor is it spicy like it is there. I was ready for some serious spice on my food and it was blander than most American places. I cannot describe the lack of flavor well enough, imagine if air were chicken and you were eating air. That is what it tastes like. Even their so-called«spicy» chicken. This has GOT to be some kind of joke, right? Right??? I was left extremely disappointed. Also their portions are really tiny, especially for such a ridiculously high price(It’s just chicken, not filet mignon, okay?). After leaving, I’m still hungry. That’s pathetic. Next time I want chicken, I will go to KFC. Wow. Not. happy. :c

Our experience here was… interesting. We almost left before ordering because when we said we needed a second to look at the menu we were literally rushed, she started reading things off and asking what we wanted. It was very off-putting. We finally managed to place our order and got our food in a timely manner but we didn’t even have time to ask for sauce or ketchup before the window was slammed shut. Our bag was just thrusted through the window, no words at all and BAM! Shut. My food was not hot or fresh either. Really crappy service we got tonight, I’ll try the new Ruskin location but we won’t be back here. Don’t rush me when I’ve only been there 10 seconds and the drive thru is empty.

Historically, Popeyes has always had very low quality chicken but my husband likes the rice so I let him keep dragging me here. Because of the small selection of places to chow down in this corner of the world, we decided to throw caution to the wind and give this Popeyes a few tries. I have decided I have been more then fair with this place, giving them 3 tries and after the last visit, it makes me sick to think that I ate here 3 times! There is no reason to ever go back. The service is so dreadfully slow. So slow that if you go inside to eat you will witness multiple people order food, then leave and came back for their food later. One person came back with Wendy’s food for their kids and their kids ate all of their food before the Popeyes order was ready. It isn’t just the kitchen, because if they are out of something, they don’t make it for you they just tell you, sorry we are out. It is the employees. Our last visit was a drive through order… they were out of the Spicy chicken again but it confused the heck out of them when we said, ok just give us mild. Once they figured out what that meant, we pull up to the window to meet a girl with the long blonde wig who was loosing hair all over the place(Super gross). We took our chicken to the park for a picnic, I pulled off a piece of chicken and it was black inside. ROTTEN! Not just a little piece of black from the bones, but the breast meat was black! My appetite was destroyed and I had a hard time even chocking down my biscuit after that because I was so nauseated. I’m pretty sure the Racoons at the park didn’t even want my food. The only thing good here is the biscuits and thats because they are super saturated in butter. From now on, the only place I will get Fried chicken on this corner is the grocery store!

I would of loved to give this place 5 stars but I just can’t. The drive threw is silly who ever designed it; your trapped once you get your food unless someone moves for you. The order is completely wrong I had to go back and wait in like another 10 minutes just to get the right order. Customer service thus far has been very rude. That is a management problem they need to better micro manage their employees. The food after i had to go back was good and very filling. I would say go but only when there isn’t a rush because you will just have a bad time.

I give the food itself 5 stars and there is some employees who are nice. But just 1 employee how rude she was, I have to give it 1 star. Customer service is key in your business. They need to get rid of people who don’t want to be there. And it’s not just one visit. Every time we’ve gone, we get the same rude, unpleasant person.

Good chicken. .but the counter help needs to learn English. I don’t know what language they are speaking. .but it ain’t English. Pronunciation needs to be understandable. .say chicken, not«shlin»

Food is great as usual for Popeyes but the service and staff still have a lot of kinks to iron out.

OK, so they are still in grand opening mode… very busy, very crowded. Long line at drive-thru, so we went inside to eat. Short line at register but about 20 people waiting around counter for their food. Not a good sign usually, but we decided to take a chance and order. Very distracted employee at register. She kept looking away from us and talking to another employee as we tried to order… almost caused me to say«the hell with you» and leave. But, I really like Popeye’s food. Controlled myself long enough for her to finally pay attention to us. Placed our order, and it was about 8 – 10 minute wait for our food. It was hot, fresh, well prepared(spicy chix, cole slaw, beans & rice, cajun fries). Once things calm down, we’ll be back.

We’ve been here 3 times since it opened. Don’t judge! First was grand opening day, second was a late night snack and third because my son begged for a biscuit. The food has always been hot and delicious. The staff are mostly friendly, some over friendly which isn’t a bad thing. But twice our order was wrong. And the one time we went through the drive through it took forever. Hopefully that will improve as time goes on. I have to remark on the parking lot though — it kind of makes no sense and they are making it 100 times worse by blocking off one entrance which in turn makes a whole row of parking spots inaccessible. When I asked why it’s still blocked off — I’m sure it was originally to control traffic during the grand opening and the week or so after. But it’s as busy as any other fast food restaurant would be now. I was told it’s because of the drive through– which makes absolutely no sense what so ever.

Good food is hard to get in this area. Was hoping this would help change that. Both times I went there, the order was wrong and the food was cold. The person working the drive-through window doesn’t understand English. And, parking lot was obviously designed by an idiot.

I’m shocked at some of the reviews. The place was really busy mainly because this area has been waiting for years to get a Popeyes since the closest was in Brandon. The parking is not the best but there really is not a better place in Riverview in my opinion. They had problems on the first few days as any restaurant just opening would have. I waited until the second day just for this reason and was very happy with my order. I parked across the street and walked in because the cars were literally wrapped around the building and out the parking lot and out onto Big Bend. I got my food after 40 – 45 minutes from the time I entered and I was in a relatively short line that had doubled by the time I got my food. I expect the service to get better as the people behind the counter learn to deal with the volume and the novelty wears off.

I almost think it’s unfair to write a review for a place that just opened. They haven’t had time to work out the kinks yet. But here goes. Hubby has been dying for this place to open, so we finally went for a late lunch. The place was slammed… ya think it was the best steak place in the world with the crowds that were there. Had to find a place to park because waiting in the drive through would have taken way too much time. Hubby went inside to order. The computers broke down… people running around like crazy… chaos! Despite the opening stresses we finally got our lunch and brought it home. I have to say the flavor of the food was pretty good. I got a three piece white chicken dinner. I got 2 wings and a breast. Pieces were a bit small. The rice and beans tasted awesome, but the little container you get was only ½ filled. Tried the mashed potatoes, same thing, tasted great, tiny portion. Biscuit was good too. Hubby got a chicken and shrimp combo, hated the shrimp. Small and tough. Think he’ll stick with chicken. Cost $ 20 for our lunches(no drinks). Although I felt the food tasted good, the portions were very small. Maybe they were afraid of running out of food, so cut back a bit. We’ll most likely give them another try in a month or so after the mania has eased up. Hopefully I will be able to up the star count at that point!

This is ridiculous. Still in line because the drive through is wrapped around the entire building out to big bend. The people working the back don’t need to be back there. Soft spoken slow no kind of urgency. I know this place is new and the rush will eventually slow down but … Come on People this isn’t the first ever«Grand Opening». Should of been more prepared.

I agree with the first reviewer. There was no system for food. Waited 45 minutes in line to order and waiting another 30 minutes just to pick up the order. I know it’s new but there’s only 1 food expo and 1 person helping out. People are friendly but there just needs to be all system. In my opinion, the most critical time for a business is the first few months and with that needs service and quality which both were not here.
