Vastly inconsistent groundskeeping. Some holes are green and beautiful, but many are very ill kept. The grounds crew was not polite to golfers, and did not seem to care about etiquette at all. Overall, very unprofessional. Pro staff was concerned, but did not feel that grounds crew listen to customer complaints. Highly recommend you not play in the early morning when the crew is out. Watering continues until after 9 o’clock, making some holes unplayable. The 14th fairway was impassable due to such a large portion of the fairway being roped off because of ground issues. Watering flooded some sand traps — see picture included.

It is a pretty fun course. Some fairways are rather tight and they have more sand than any course I’ve ever played in Utah. I live in salt lake so it was a good half way meeting place to play with my buddies from Provo. If it weren’t for that I doubt I would go out of my way to go back but it’s solid if you are in the area. If you only have time for 9 I recommend the back 9.

Overall a very nice course. As Charles mentioned, #10 is truly breathtaking. I noticed that the fairways are a little beat up. Not sure if it’s because of the hot Summer, end of the season, or a combination of everything, but the course was in definite need of some upkeep.
Just bring a lot of extra balls, as this course will eat them up.

When in Utah, you’ll pay roughly the same amount ($ 40-​$ 45 for 18, riding) for whichever course you choose.
So, the only real determining factor is the course itself.
If you choose Riverbend, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a little out of the way, depending on where you happen to be at the moment, but it’s worth the trip.
The fairways and greens are always in good condition and you’ll always find a real challenge here with water, sand and lots of trees and other evil foliage.
The tee-​box on number 10 is one of the best in Utah (as long as you play from the blues). It’s an elevated tee, approximately 100 yards above the fairway, with a great panoramic view of the south end of Salt Lake Valley.
Pace is usually good and well-​managed. I really have no complaints about Riverbend.
