I frequent the Press Enterprise Cafeteria whenever I am in the downtown Riverside area for a quick, cheap, and tasty lunch that is a great alternative to fast food, such as the Jack in the Box next door! I used to come more frequently when I worked in Riverside, so this particular spot is one of the lunch places that I miss. The cafeteria is located on the bottom floor of the PE building and is open to the public. Guest parking is readily available in their parking lot and it’s free! Service has always been very friendly and the food is made to order. Most of the weekly specials are a can’t miss! The chicken taco salad is my favorite. On one particular visit, my coworkers and I ordered one and were given cream cheese instead of sour cream. We didn’t notice any difference, and proceeded to enjoy our taco salads with cream cheese! The nice lady at the counter came running out as we were halfway into our meal with sour cream and apologies in hand, but we loved this accidental concoction! Not saying we Mwould ever purposely eat it that way again, but for that meal, it was delicious: D Most of the menu choices are in the 3 – 6 dollar range, and the lunch specials are typically around $ 6. Serving sizes are generous! The french fries are always hot and crisp and the veggies on all salads and sandwiches have been fresh. Can’t go wrong with this place for a no-frills, quick lunch. So overall… The good: Good, cheap food. Made to order. Accepts card. Easy parking. Generous portions. The bad: Be sure to check if your condiments are what you think they are! The ugly: Can get crowded if you come at the wrong time. Call ahead to place an order for guaranteed quick service!

The café at press enterprise is open to the public. So I stopped in I was so shocked. The food is cheap and to me great. I had a breakfast burrito. It was huge and filling for only 3.50. Will be going back soon :)
