Beautiful Bell Tower Inside The Mission Inn Courtyard
SITREP
Inside The Mission Inn is the beautiful historic bell tower, inset within the gorgeous scenic courtyard, along the walkway leading up to the Hotel itself from the circle drive along Mission Inn Avenue.
SETUP
The property acquired the name «The Mission Inn» in 1902 when Frank Miller changed the name from Glenhood Hotel, which was built by his father Christopher Columbus Miller in 1876. Many of the ancillary buildings and structures — including the Bell Tower Arch — were built since them.
AMBIANCE
People who have enjoyed the ambiance of the courtyard and stood amidst the beauty of the Bell Tower include Nancy & Ronald Reagan (who honeymooned here) and author Anne Rice, who used the Inn as a scenic background for her 2009 novel Angel Time.
