If I could rate this place no stars I would, this place is so unsanitary its mind blowing how they passed health regulations!!! I ordered the lasagna and when it came to my table I took one look at my plate an lost my appetite, there was food stuck on the plate from the last persons meal! How could this have left the kitchen ?! I don’t know but there where more questions entering my mind after this were the utensils properly washed? My cup? How bout all the pots used to make my food? The thought is still scary to me. So if this doesn’t make u feel uneasy well it gets worse! As I’m waiting to call my waitress (which was m.i.a for around 10) I hear my bf cry out and to my utter shock there was a roch that scurred along side our table!!! Worst experience iv ever had at a restaurant seriously we didn’t touch our food and high tailed it outta that place. All around terrible experience!

I went to my first day of training (no pay), and Gus (the manager who had hired me) was very unprofessional and didn’t bother to let me know that they didn’t need me. I’m very glad I didn’t take part of their team where I would’ve had to hide the fact that there are roaches in the kitchen. Too bad because it looks like a decent place to dine in. Looks really are deceiving… sigh

Is this place not open anymore??? I loved their spicy chicken pasta. But my all time favorite was the gnocchi & pesto!!!

I came here with my mom and my brother. It was practically empty which we thought was strange. The waitress was very nice, but had no clue what she was doing. My brother asked about the specials and she had to go check before she could give him an answer. We had to point out that we hadn’t received any bread, the bread was cold when she brought it out. My mom ordered coffee and cream. When she started pouring the cream it came out really thick. We all looked at each other. It turned out to be SOUR CREAM. By then we were afraid to order any food so we told the waitress we were leaving. She got the manager and she was very apologetic about everything and told us we didn’t have to pay for our drinks. That was nice of her, but we’ll probably never try this place again.

It’s MONICA ’ s 2^nd day and she did amazing. Good job on attending to us and being so friendly.
The food does take a little while to come out, but its totally worth it. Very fresh and tasted sooo delicous. I found this place thru groupon, but even without it the prices are so reasonable. For both of us it was only $ 35. Totally recommend this spot.
Checked in and got a free dessert.

VSP Fries are a must! If it’s your first time, just order those and a ceasar salad, come back again try something else because the fries are so so addictive you won’t be able to stop! It’s more than plenty for two or a great appetizer!

Not a good experience at all. We had caprese salad, chicken piccata, angel hair shrimp scampi, and carbonara. All classic dishes. All ruined. Why would you serve a cold caprese salad on a warm plate? If you are going to charge $ 10 for it why would you go with a tasteless grocery tomato and basil. The 4 slices we got for $ 10 were warm and tasteless. The piccata and scampi, both traditional wine and lemon sauces, were served as a cream sauce. No! The carbonara wasn’t bad except that they didn’t render the fat from the ham which was very fatty and hard to chew. Will not be back. Very disappointing. Didn’t even want to stay for the free dessert.

Fire the staff that seems more interested in standing outside smoking than serving guests and maybe we’ll give you another chance. Servers don’t appreciate their jobs or their customers.

Heard theVsl fries were Delish a definite must try and the food is always good and the atmosepire and décor is Italian :) not Olive Garden but better food :) authentic Italian cuisine !

We went there based on the overall 4 star review. What a huge mistake. There was no detectable air conditioning, and it was a warm summer night. There were only two parties in the restaurant but the hostess told us that it would be approximately 5 minutes before we could be seated. Several minutes later, we were told that we could sit wherever we wanted!
We placed our drink orders, which were brought out as well as the bread (very good) and olive oil with balsamic to dip the bread in. We placed our orders (penne pasta, the pasta special for the night, a calzone and a meatball sandwich). It took an hour before we got our food. The waitress had forgotten to bring out the soup that went with the special as well as the French fries that accompanied the sandwich. Our friend told her not to bother bringing out the soup. The fries came out about 10 minutes later. The penne pasta was good, the special was good, the calzone was so-​so and looked like they had spread out pizza dough on a pizza pan, put the filling on half of the dough and folded the remaining dough on top of it. It was also burnt in places. The sandwich was awful, I could only eat ¹⁄₈^th of it. At no time was the restaurant busy, so no excuse for the long delay in getting our food. We just wanted to get out of that hot, stuffy restaurant, so we paid the bill and left. No one wanted to take their leftovers.
If you too take a chance on this restaurant based on the overall 4 star reviews, keep this review in mind! Needless to say, we won’t be back!

It took 20 minutes to take our order, and after an hour and 35 minutes we still hasn’t gotten our food. When confronted, they said that they hadn’t even started one of our entrees. It wasn’t very crowded, plus many people who had come in way after already had food. They offered is a discount, but we decided to just leave because we didn’t know how much longer we would have to wait still.

Sigh! The food is fantastic, but they still haven’t seemed to figure out the service side. The waitresses seem to be working very hard and are quick yet polite, but no matter how fast the waitresses work it seems like the kitchen just can’t produce the food quick enough when their are people present.
Seems like a staffing issue, not enough people working both the floor and kitchen? Either way, waiting for over an hour to get pasta is just ridiculous. This has just happened far too many times; we LOVE the food, but this keeps us from coming much of the time.

Gotta stop by again. Trying out joe’s meatballs. Brought the misses to get her take on it as well. Cant beat the quality of food and service here. Great spot in riverside.
Plus if ur in the mood for something different or a special other than the usual Italian fare. The chef is more than happy to oblige.

The restaurant itself felt kinda like an after thought to the bar area. Service was kinda slow, which would have been understandable if we weren’t the only people in the restaurant. Our drinks ran empty quiet a few times.
Food was average, nothing that would make me want to go back. I tried the pesto chicken and my husband tried the chicken parmigiana, either were incredible. The chicken was rubbery on both dishes and way under seasoned.
Just not our cup of tea I guess.

The food did not live up to my expectations… I had the chicken parmesan which was ok, but definitely not worth five stars. It was kind of bland. The service was excellent though, the servers were attentive and if I could rate them separately I’d give them five
wife had fettucini Alfredo and she thought it was also kind of bland. We made reservations because we had heard great things about this restaurant but when we got there at 630pm on a weekend, it was surprisingly not very busy. Half the tables in there were not being used.
Side note *The VSG fries were amazing.

It was overpriced for the quality in my opinion, thin crust was not so thin, and when my daughter told the waitress that she did not need more water the waitress filled her glass anyways and said «it’s just water»

My first review got deleted so I’m writing a nicer one. We will see if the place reports me to tell Unilocal again. Here goes. And mind you this did take place a few months ago.
This place could have been but probably not that good. We came in. Bout a party of 7. 2 groups of 2 ahead of us. There was gonna be a 20 min wait. Coo. We would go to the bar…
Went to bar. No service. Asked a girl if we could order drinks. She said someone would be with us. No one came. Ooookkkaaaayyy… So no drinks I guess.
We got called. Sat down. Waited… Finally got a server. 10 mins later Got our drinks and ordered some appetizers. Drinks and appetizers came. No silverware. Asked for those. Waited… Finally got those. Had to ask for drink refills.
Food that was ordered… calzone. No olives came loaded with olives.
Marinara pasta. Had a burnt I was cooked too long. Coulda had good flavor possibly.
Chicken piccata. In «light» cream sauce. It was served in HEAVY cream sauce.
Chicken Parmesan was good. Chicken breast could have been a little thinner.
Bread with marinara sauce. A little dry.
And mind you this WHOLE time there was a big table that was used and hadn’t been touched. No bussing. No one on it. Not once.
Then. THEN when the bill was delivered. It was 158.00 plus gratuity. That’s when I got a little irritated. I told them they will take of the gratuity. Charge us what we owe. I’m not gonna pay. And tip what you want me to tip for AWFUL service and what could have been better food. The waitress we had took off the gratuity. I’m sure she wasn’t happy about it. I left her $ 20 just not to screw her for the night. But to let her know that this was awful service. The bar thing really mad me upset. We paid and left vowing NEVER to come back to this place. I really want to give this place a try again but what service I received U.S. Making me say no. I’m sorry.
And the whole time there was a guy wearing a collared shirt and name tag was walking around the place. Seemed like the owner manager. Not once did he stop by and ask if everything was ok. I’m sure he already know since us servers can’t help but not talk about our «wonderful» patrons. Lol.
So overall. This is not my Slice if pizza. For others it might be. The food. The no drinks at the bar. The having to wait for silverware when we had food in front of us. The gratuity killed a repeat visit for us. Glad you all have so many good reviews.

I came here because of Unilocal ratings, BEWARE!!!
Could not get seated because they are very disorganized, tables with dirty tablecloth, too dark and extremely awkward ambiance. It was embarassing to bring my friends here for their birthday.

First I am not a dining out Italian food lover as I prefer to eat it at home and homemade. After thinking about my overall experience I had to revisit on when the restaurant closes because my friend and I were asked to leave before the 9 pm closing time. I’d say it was 20 min till 9 pm. The prices weren’t too bad but the free bread was nothing to rave about but I did enjoy my side salad with ranch. I ordered the ravioli with spicy arrbarata (spelling) sauce not bad but not amazing. Wish the sauce could have been both hot temperature wise and spice wise.

One of our local favorites — great menu selection! We usually eat here once or twice a month. Service is always good, food always comes promptly, and the atmosphere is very casual and comfortable. Dinner is usually 1 ½ hour affair and is never rushed. Prices can be a little high but the food is well worth is. For my family of 4, a typical check is $ 80 — $ 120, depending on dessert and drinks.
Always worth a visit — highly recommend!
