This small venue is incredible. There was good sound and video. I was here for St. Patrick’s day and Maynard put on a good show as usual. I wanted to take photos and video but Maynard doesn’t allow them. I’d definitely recommend coming here for concert.

Beautiful venue, historic and preserved. We went to a Cheap Trick concert in December 2015, and had front row seats. Everyone who works there is easy-going and friendly. The ushers were quick to start asking for proof of tickets for those in our immediate area. It was nice to see the high price we paid for our tickets, was appreciated. The seating was awesome, the sound was amazing, the vibes were intense, and we had a GREAT time. We met a nice gentlemen by the name of Mike, I believe, who is on a board(or committee) for the Fox. We had great conversation with him and would love to share in conversation with him again. We are local to this venue, and so thankful it’s close by. We will definitely be attending as many gigs as we can.

I grew up in Riverside and my Grandmother attended the premire of Gone With The Wind at the Fox. I used to go watch summer movies our school sold tickets for to keep us out of trouble. My folks would take us there to see all of the new movies. I was lucky enough to win tickets to see Its A Wonderful Life last weekend. I have to say, it brought back so many fond memories just sitting in the seats. Its beautiful inside and Im so happy they kept the feel of an old fashioned concert hall. I hope to see many more wonderful things there in the future.

We went here to see the Myth Busters. The show was great. Seating was nice and clean. The sound system was excellent. It worked especially well when they played the explosions sequence. You could really feel the sound. This theater is very old. In recent years it has been restored to pristine condition. It is beautiful inside.

I came to Riverside last night to see the Lewis Black ‘The Rant is Due’ Show. I have been a fan of Mr Black’s for years and I have never seen him or his co-comedian’s be treated as they were last night. There were a few drunks in the audience and they did everything they could to ruin the show for the rest of us there. I believe every comedian, especially someone of Mr Black’s calibre have the ammunition to handle any ass in the audience heckling them. However, why was this necessary. The professionals on the stage were typical of their style of humor and I enjoyed the parts that were not interrupted by heckling. I do wonder what I missed because these gentlemen were sidetracked by the local drunks. Before I continue, I will restate I find Mr Black and his entourage to be incredible and this was by no means their fault or responsibility. If anything, I was surprised they continued through their show and did not just walk off. I am so glad they were better than that, but it crossed my mind. Now to my real point, I paid for the entertainment at this establishment and nothing was done to remove the conflicts from the show. I witnessed several staff members standing around the outside rows in the general area of the disturbance and they did nothing to remove the issue. The FOX management is the problem and based on other prior reviews, I find that I am not the only one that feels this way. Why would you allow this to happen to the talent you bring into your venue and community? I am from the Real South and I promise I have never experienced such a redneck attitude as was present in Riverside and the FOX Performing Arts Center last night. I learned along time ago — there are two types of people in this world: Walkers and Talkers. A walker will simply turn and walk away and you will never know why they refuse to visit you and your establishment again. And the Talker, who will make sure everyone he/she meets knows the experience they received. Now with the internet and Unilocal, guess what???

This is a beautiful old theater and a great venue to see performers. I loved how intimate it was. The staff is super friendly and not at all snobish or stuck up. Very convenient parking. We were in and out and didn’t have to wait forever like most venues. I will definitely be back to see my favorite artists perform here.

I came a few months ago to see the Memphis Musical and overall experience I was very satisfied. First thing that people may not like going to Riverside because of the bad reputation but this location is not only a beautiful location but is in downtown Riverside which is a nice beautiful location. Parking is easy theres many different parking garages and most days is free parking or its a small fee to park directly across the street from the location. I live in the Inland Empire area so its nice having the location so close to home and I do not need to travel to LA to see a great broadway production. When you first walk in its a nice classy room similar to such as, the Pantages in Los Angeles which is open and has plenty of artwork. This location has there own bar with a full bar and even snacks available if interested. I enjoy craft beer and was happy to find that along with regular domestics they offered high quality craft beers for options. I sat in the Mezzine above which is a nice view of the entire stage. Beware though if your a shorter person I would recommend trying to get the back rows in the Mezzine because of the angle of the edge of the balcony can block a small part of the stage. The only frustration I had was when I found out my sister who attended with me went to get a bottle of water that she came back with a warm bottle. We had already opened it not realizing which was annoying to have to go back and get a new one. The bartender was apologetic, however I feel they should know when the drink is cold or not by simple touch so possible check on training can be needed. Along with that I tried ordering a beer and it took about 5 minutes with no one else at the bar. The bartender told me there using a new POS system but still it shouldn’t take that long to serve a beer and complete a transaction. The show itself was great. Even though the theatre is older you can tell they updated the sound system to make it sound and look great with proper lighting. In the end I had a great overall experience the show was great and location was just as great as well. Again my only Hiccup is training of some of the staff I understand that they dont run shows everyday but still it seems they can change a bit in that. I cant wait may try and go see Les Miserables when it is showing in a few months.

My feelings towards the Fox mirror my feelings towards the Municipal, love that bigger names are coming out here! I made the mistake of parking in the garage which was a standstill mess after the show. I couldn’t find street parking but in the future, I’d rather walk a few blocks after a great show than getting stressed stuck between cars who don’t want to let the next person through. Also in hindsight, I’d keep up with current events so I can catch good seats. I sat in the balcony and had a difficult time seeing. Akin to watching ants perform. Maybe more like cockroaches. Metered street parking is free after 5pm.

It was my first time watching a show in this lovely theater! My girlfriends and I watched Memphis yesterday, and though we were sitting in the very last row, we had an excellent time. We saw everything perfectly and had no problems with sound. I learned that the theater was reopened, and I’m glad they didn’t do any crazy renovations to it, so the building kept its charm. I LOVE that they had a little photo area with its own little red carpet! It gives people something else to post on social media other than their programs. A couple things I’d like to note is that It was very cold on the bottom level when we went to use the restroom. And none of the lights in the theater reach the back row, so we had to pull out our phones and use the light from there to read the program.

A very beautiful room with some history. I liked the feeling that we were back in time… Still stylish and nice atmosphere. Somebody else mentioned this: the orchestra seats are not really the best seats since all rows are at the same level. Even though you are close to the stage it’s hard to see everything because everybody is at the same level and if you have someone in font of you you have to move all the time from one side to another to see the whole action on stage. They need to reposition all these seats. The stage is same level and with some light here and there on it I was not able to see the performers when they were dancing low and could not see all times how they bend their toes:))))))) A beautiful show. I might go back there for other shows. Lots of good restaurant around and the promenade there is nice. I am glad they reopened this theatre!

I was excited to finally get a chance to see a show here. Living in Riverside all my life, I would go to the matinée movie at the Fox as a child. I purchased my tickets back in June, 3 days after they went on sale. Arriving at the venue we we ushered in, shown directly to our seats. Good service here. Good service, and stocked bar, clean bathrooms. My issue, one of my seats MM3, was totally obstructed. I can see that originally these seats(there are 4 in the row) had a wonderful view of the stage. However, since the refurbishment, a higher handrail was installed along the steps leading up to the balcony. The rail was directly in front of seat MM3. It was like watching the show from behind prison bars. As soon as I sat down, I got up and went down to the box office to see if they could relocate me from behind the obstruction. I offered to pay more(this was a gift for my fiancé) Getting now where, I asked for the manager… And was told they didn’t know where, or how to get ahold of the House Manager… Ridiculous Reading another post from last night, I’m wondering if the manager was MIA. The crowd in may area behaved themselves. I’m not sure if I will give them another try, or just continue going to The Grove, House of Blues and the Wiltern when I want an intimate«small venue» experience. Think I’ll post a picture from my jail cell last night at the Fox. But since I’m a new Unilocaler, it might take me awhile to figure out how

I would like to start by saying that this review in no way reflects the performers as they were ex rational. My beef is that they let a man who was clearly inebriated brings beer jack Daniels and a tally enabled and encourage lude behavior from a man who’s seasoned age is well beyond a life span to know better. The vast array of profanity that spewed out if this man’s mouth was broadcast over a live stream where the performers while shaking their heads and laughing it off showed a level of professionalism beyond a performers duty. It is the management’s responsibility to ensure the safety of both their patrons and performers and tonight they failed epic. It took every ounce of strength of the men who took the brunt of this man rubbing himself over their heads doing a trip out dance towards the light displays, spilling alcohol over their heads and suits and screaming profanity to not deck the guy after the nth time. The people behind him including myself had to keep their hands up to stop him from falling backwards or hitting them while flailing his hands e every where. The people next to him had to relocate as the man kept leaving his seat every few minutes to go smoke and smuggle more booze in. The thing that gets me is that management did nothing. While I certainly would pay to see this performance again, I certainly will NOT be doing so at this establishment. You allowed a drunk and disorderly foul mouth inebriated old fart ruin this performance for over a dozen patrons, you allow his profanity to be broadcast live to over 5 million people. Way to sink to new lows, you had children there watching this man sudo molesting and baiting fights with other men. You have turned this theater into a joke. I did not pay good money months in advance to have better seats so that I can have alcohol dumped on me, my view obstructed by this man’s rear end in my face or this man trying to give me a lemon wedge as a tip while trying to listen to the performance over this man shouting $@(!! Em all repeatedly. I expect a refund.

The venue is nice, comfortable seats in surprisingly wide rows(as a big guy, I appreciate that sort of thing). The parking fee was even unexpectedly moderate. We were there this week to see the Brian Setzer Orchestra’s Xmas concert and they put on a great show. Unfortunately the experience was spoiled by a very loud and obnoxious drunk sitting in front of us. He shouted obscenities at the stage, kept jumping up and nearly falling over on top of people, and repeatedly splashed beer from open cups all over everyone in the vicinity. Not what you expect to «enjoy» at any concert without a mosh pit. Several guests complained about him, but nothing was done — finally near the end of the performance the drunk finally went out and didn’t come back. We left smelling of beer instead of feeling cheer.

Abundant and helpful parking staff and lot, nice and intimate stage, clean and friendly… I like this place a lot compared to all the major stadium or arenas for concerts. You really get the feel of it all like musicians are there JUST for you. There are probably no bad seats in the house because it is a small theater. Anyways, I do recommend this place for concerts. Let’s hope there will be a good artist there soon!

Love the venue… But my review is regarding the seating. When you pay for expensive orchestra tickets, be aware that the seats DIRECTLY behind the handicap seats are HORRIBLE. The handicap seats are 5 inches taller than any of the other seats. You can’t see anything. Imagine it feeling like 7foot tall men sat in front of you. The three rows behind the handicap ones all complained as well, but there is nothing they can do. Take my advice and purchase different seats!!! Shame on you Performing Arts for not investing a few dollars in shorter chairs for the handicap section. You’d save yourself a lot of headache in moving people around and not upsetting your customers.

I came here for a concert. Was shocked at the beer prices. $ 9 for a small and $ 14 for a large, which really isn’t larger. $ 4 for a coke in a small glass! Now the venue is really nice, sounds great, but the staff is like the Gestapo! They are freaking out on anyone or anybody that has the foot in the aisle or not abiding by venue/band rules, crazy! Loosen up, you can;t stop everyone from taking photos or videos.
