Rode my bike to downtown last night and was very shocked to see this place is no more… had to do a double take. Can anyone please tell me why it closed?

My friends and I always enjoyed coming here. The food was always pretty good yet not at all healthy. The overall service wasn’t so great except one specific waitress she’s the only reason we kept coming back because her service was great. I’m sorry this restaurant is shutting down. However, I heard that the employees were not treated well and that needs to change if they ever choose to reopen.

Service is REALLYREALLYSLOW. Not very attentive, had to hunt one down to get a refill and to place an order. Selection is really small, couple items were discontinued. I ordered the Mac n’ Cheese bites and it came out in less than a minute. Kinda worrisome, maybe it was pre made and they just chucked it in the fryer just to get it hot. Chips and salsa… Why on earth were the chips so stale?! My hot dog, I got a bratwurst sausage with pretzel bun, topped with sweet relish and sport peppers. The bun itself was really tough to chew on and the sausage itself had a weird smell to it. I took one bite and I decided not to finish eating any of it before suffer food poisoning. At least the Coke was good…

My husband and I dropped by here after looking at the lights around the area. There is not much people inside and we thought it’s a cool place for some hotdog. However I order the hotdog with carne asada, it does not match. It was dry and not that flavorful. Their fries are so oily and soggy too. It feels so unhealthy. My husband on the other hand, ordered pizza with carne asada, but the dough was very thick. The toppings are very few. Another thing the server was not attentive. Two stars is for the good location. But we will never be back in this restaurant.

This is an ok build a dog/brat place. It never seems very full. I’ve been here a handful of times and food quality seems hit and miss. Service is usually pretty good. Strange enough, I’ve had problems with the bar. 1st time I wanted an IPA with some sweetness the bartender recommended me a beer that was flat and overly sweet, with no hoppiness. Second interesting time we ordered the 2nd biggest size, and wanted I think a dark ale, and got a pilzner? Back to the food. When the food is good, it’s spot on, but as a few other reviewers have mentioned, sometimes the toppings can be spotty. I mean if I order 10 toppings I don’t want a mountain but a nice even amount as you would want.(Arbitrary event: 1 tomato cube, 2 onions, a hint of ketchup, some peppers, and some other forgotten items? Kinda tough to stomach for the price) recently they got rid of the fried mac and cheese bites… so missed =(. It was a reason to come all by itself. But like I saod, when it’s good, the burger is cooked to perfection(me=medium) and the brats are hot and explosive haha. They do salads, but I’ve never tried them. Eh. If your out and see it, go for it, but not on my must see in riverside list.

There is always something new to try! So many different beers and different combinations for food. I love sitting out front. I miss the old menu!

Me and the boyfriend tried this place for the first time a couple of days ago, about 30 mins before the Thursday Night football game. Got seated right away, the waitress was very nice and was attentive. It didn’t get busy the whole time we were there either. I got the Caprese flatbread with chicken instead of balsamic vinegar I asked for ceasar and the waitress was very nice and brought both just in case I wanted to try it. My boyfriend got the D’IE burger on a pretzel bun, he said he liked the cheese they used and the pretzel bun because it gave it a different taste. We also got the Carne asada tater tots which were so bomb! It was an appetizer on the happy hour menu and it was pretty big. The place itself is very nice and pretty. Would definitely come back!!!

Yay!!! Fried pickles are back!!! We loved this restaurant and we’re bummed they stopped the pickles a few months ago but they’re back :) when we went there it seemed to be a lot slower than it used to, maybe because they had to change their menu before but the food is still excellent and service always pleasant. We are pretty exited we get to come here for the fried pickles again, the best appetizer by far!

The ambiance and location was good. The service at our table was excellent but the Ovz wine tasted bad. The waiter took the wine back and indicated it would be removed from the bill but it was not. It took three attempts for the bartender to actually remove it. The bill was for more than $ 150 but the DDogs bartender wanted to make it an unpleasant memory for us as we were leaving and decided to fight us on a $ 6.50 glass of wine that we returned due to tasting so bad. No wonder the place was so empty on a Saturday night.

DDogs has a pretty cool atmosphere and its spacious which I like. Pretty cool place to gather with friends enjoy comfort food with beer/wine keep in mind they don’t serve mixed drinks. Our waiter was Tomas he was friendly and helpful when it came down to the menu picking what to eat. I must say the menu has some pretty interesting foods on it. I couldn’t decide between the carne asada Mac n cheese or the nachos. Tomas recommended the nachos so I went with it. The nachos were so good! The portion was also pretty big so even though everyone ordered something different we still shared the nachos. Also they have a wide selection of beer pretty much anything you could want. The price was great for both food and beer which is always a plus. Our waiter was nice, the nachos were good and so was the beer. Overall four stars, however I will go back to try other items on the menu.

Great atmosphere and vibe, great food. Wait staff is attentive and portions are generous. Parking can be a little bit of a problem, but the location is in the middle of very walkable and entertaining downtown Riverside. The IE dog was awesome, filling and interesting. The tater tots are a step down in quality, another local eatery, Prohibition also changed their signature fry offering to tater tots… probably because it’s less expensive on the front line and they can charge just as much for a specialty offering. Their specialty tots were good but fries would definitely be better. I would most definitely go back and sample more of their offerings. If you haven’t been here you should definatley give them a try.

I’ve been to D Dogs before, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did yesterday. D Dogs has a really cool atmosphere and all the servers were very nice. I came in at 2 on a Thursday and it was pretty dead. From 11:30 to 5, you have to walk around the side of the restaurant to put in your order at a little cash register. It looks like a deli, but it’s convenient for the lunch rush. My dad and I decided to order it and sit down. I got a sauerkraut veggie dog on a pretzel bun with tots & a «vintage» root beer. Dads root beer is my favorite, so I tried that one out. I later got an IBC after my dad and I stayed in here until 4:30, lol. Anyways, the veggie dog was really good! I wish I could’ve customized it though! The tater tots were really good as well. D Dogs, thanks for changing my impression of you! I will be back. :)!

This is a solid place in the area. The place is lined up with lots of TVs, so i definitely recommend coming here to watch a sports game. The beer draft selection is pretty good too; they offer a LOT of choices. They offer burgers, dogs, and pizza here. After asking for the popular dog choices, I ordered the D’IE hot dog. It was a lot of food. The hot dog isn’t small, and it had a kick. I admit it was quite messy to eat. My only negative thing about this place is the lack of sides. Where are the fries? They offer baked potatoes, but i wanted fries!

THANKYOU for your response, and while I do appreciate you taking the time to provide me with this information(since I am a regular) I feel that the food was not prepared how it normally is when I go. The Tijuana burger I got was not what it has been in the past. There was one swipe of guacamole and I could tell the burger meat was not the same quality. Let’s be honest about that Gouda Mac & cheese as well man, that wasn’t even the same pasta from the Mac and cheese bites. Also, for the BYOB build options, the server said that the option didn’t exist anymore, she was also quite rude, I understand she probably gets these questions all the time but she had an attitude the entire time. I am sorry the city has done this to you and hopefully you can get this frier thing situated because it was simply depressing in there last time. & I LOVEDDDOGS. I used to love DDOGS. I feel totally let down right now. You can no longer build your own burger/hot dog & they took some things off the menu like the Mac and cheese bites smh. Also, now they make you go up to the cash register to order. So waiters are gone now? This sucks. I’m so disappointed.

The menu change is going to keep me from coming here again. They removed the customized dogs and burgers. They removed fries from the menu. How can you be a hotdog burger place with no fries?!? On top of the crappy menu change. They do not honor gift cards anymore as of 6÷6÷15. Great to hear about after I show up with a $ 25 off $ 50 coupon and my party finishes ordering…

They changed the menu for the worst. No more custom orders and no more fries. How can you have hot dogs or burgers and no fries??? Ordered the Tijuana Dog and it was not even hot, more like luke warm… Hey D Dogs I’ve got another great menu change for you… REMOVETHEHOTDOGS!!!

No fries?! Wth… Went to ddogs for the second time and I wanted to build my own hamburger and cheese fries. The Menu changed, you can no longer build your own burger or dog and they have no fries or chips or anything fried. They’re not trying to go healthy, they just can’t fry anything. Super bummer! We stayed anyways… Had a dburger and they forgot the purple onion. Would’ve been nice if they included a pickle or something since I pd 8 dollars just for a burger. Pretzel bun was delicious and the Gouda Mac was great but it was a small little bowl. Not coming back

I used to be a regular DDogs customer, but with their recent menu change(i.e. removing all fried foods), I’m not sure that will be the case anymore. The burgers and hot dogs are delicious and the beer selection is extensive enough to satisfy almost anyone who enjoys craft beer, but if you glance over the new menu that DDogs just launched, there are some glaring omissions. Let’s face it – it’s just weird to serve burgers and hot dogs without the typical fried foods to accompany them(foods which, I might add, DDogs used to prepare better than anyone else in Riverside). From what I understand, DDogs removed their fryers because they did not want to comply with a very basic public health /environmental safety standard to prevent grease runoff. Apparently this means that they had been ignoring some of the basic health and safety regulations that are in place for a very good reason. I’ll gladly revise my review upward if they resume serving the foods that many of their loyal customers came to love, and if they decide to start playing by the rules when and if they do so.

I love their new and improved menu. It’s my bfs favorite burger joint in riverside. I’m a vegetarian but a meat eater at heart and loved their veggie patty. My bf and I use to be regulars and I got tired of getting the same thing every time. The burgers are too filling and I can’t handle eating fried food for dinner. I tried the D’caprese flatbread along with the mango ipa from port brewing and it was perfect. On the other hand my friends weren’t too fond of the baked wings, I asked for a side of buffalo sauce for them. The burger options are practically the same, the extra option are on the back. My bf loves adding sauerkraut to his burgers. Overall great place, clean, friendly, fun atmosphere.
