Alvaro’s Mexican Food

This hole in the wall joint may have good food, but after my latest incident I don’t know if I’ll ever come back. I bought a carne asada burrito and taquitos with guacamole one time, and when I came home I found a string of hair in my guacamole. Unacceptable! I even called and complained, and they say «Oh, you need to bring the food back and receipt.» But what if you threw the food away and no longer have a receipt? You’re SOL! The customer service is horrible, I was told to leave a name and phone number for the manager. And what do they do? The message wasn’t relayed and I never got a call or spoke to the manager at all.
Apparently, they don’t care about your health or want to the resolve the issue. So they just lost a customer, and don’t bother calling to speak to a manager like I did. You’ll get the run around and they won’t give a damn. Avoid this place, and I think all the Alvaro’s or Alberto’s or independently run.

The customer service was good. And, that’s all I can say. The doors/​windows were filthy, old food covered the floor, who knows how long the salsa on the bar had been out, and the food was bland. When we finally left, doing our part to throw our trash away, our goodbye gift was disgustingly dirty swinging trash can doors. It’s sad, because our family really likes to support local small businesses. It is possible to provide affordable food in a clean surrounding. Excuse me, I need to wash my hands.

Okay mexican food, but overpriced. the sangria drink is $ 2.50!!! the Taquito plate is 7.99, so the total was over $ 10.50 or so. and Yes you have to pay a .45 cent debit card fee. Also, It took 7 minutes to be acknowledged (cash register lady was in the rear of the restaurant) to take my order. will not repeat.

This place has great breakfast burritos. Guess thats why the morning/​afternoon cashier recognizes me. I had a bad experience with someone who was working late night today (july 11^th) as she ROLLED her eyes at me for changing my order. Wont be coming late at night to see her again.
Although i suggest letting everyone know theres pico de gallo in your carne asads burritos… i hate onions and a white girl like me wouldnt know any better, so this ruined it last time i tried something new off the menu.

I had the chorizo breakfast burrito. Homemade chorizo was good, a little too much cinnamon though. Cost around $ 5 but it was big. I’d probably go back =)

I’ve grown to like this spot. Prices are low and the food is good.
I ordered the menudo for 6bucks.
I asked for Tapatio for my menudo but they didn’t have any. I was disappointed until I tasted my food. It was perfect!!!
It was the first time I didn’t have to add chile, lemon or salt… So good I even took a order to go.
There Taquitos were great to.

Sticker left on bell peppers… makes me question their prep and washing of veggies. Out first and last time here. Sticking to the OG Alberto’s just up the street!

There is one right across from my work on Hole and Tyler in Riverside there Breakfast burritos are the best around and the service is great there always friendly and quick!

Ordered super fries paid an over priced charge for a simple meal. Got home and the fries were soggy and cold. I took them back and asked for a new order and they said they couldn’t help me. Horrible service bad food. And the girl at the counter was extremely rude. Save you’re time and money and go somewhere else.

The food isn’t that good, but we went a few times thinking we had went on a bad day. The service is terrible, they messed up my last order and instead of apologizing and trying to make it right they sent me text of my receipt to show me what I paid for. The girl didn’t pay attention to what I ordered or repeat it back to me. She gave me a drink holder that was falling apart. It was a mess by the time I got home. Won’t be going back.

Driving down Van Buren and hungry I saw the morning breakfast burrito special with a drink for 2.99 and it was definitely worth it. I love tortillas that are cooked per order and this was it. My bacon, potatoes (not French fries) and egg was delish! My tea was definitely old but I think that was the bonus because the breakfast burrito was just my size, a smaller version of the regular size burrito.

Decided to give Alvaro’s a chance after being very disappointed with the Alberto’s in Mira Loma. We were very happy to see that the food is very tasty and the portions are very generous as well. This place is now our go to for Mexican food, I will definitely be back.

Closer than Alberto’s for me. Food is fresh. I had the burrito and it was pretty good. Nice size but I’ve seen bigger. My wife had the torta special and she liked it. Place had a B rating but don’t trip on that, let the food do the talking. We’ll definitely be back for more.
