Although they don’t bake all their pies from scratch since growing to be so busy they are worth every dime! Amazing!

Tiny location to order and go. Great pies and such… Good for guests or for breakfast, lunch or dinner with coffee… :-)

No wonder why everyone on Long Island says its worth the trip for the best pies! They did not disappoint. Not too sweet, very tasty and fresh. Worth the trip. You won’t be disappointed!

Briermere has a cute charm to it. It’s like a little roadside stand selling baked treats and farm fresh produce. I really believe that’s a critical part of the experience. Getting there on a weekend day and seeing the parking lot filled to overflowing forcing you to find street parking tells you there must be something really good inside. Once inside the actual store you find yourself with standing space equal to about the size of a powder room in front of glass cases with pies, back treats and shelves with Jams and Jellies on them. the space is so small that if you hesitate when the staff calls on you, it will immediately feel like you are an impediment to those newly entering the space. It’s kind of hard for the staff to look past you to see the next person, and being two deep at the counter will trigger some folks sense of claustrophobia. So after five minutes of indecision I finally placed my order for one each apple crisp and chocolate crème pie. I was quickly rung up and presented with a plastic bag with both and I’m on my way. Finally, what to say about the pies… I’m going to defer a little on this because in some respects we were quite underwhelmed. In both cases the cause was the filling. My apple crisp didn’t exactly have crisp apples with a wonderfully sweet or tart filling. In fact the pie filling was very unremarkable, which stands in strict contrast to what my mind recalls from previous pies I have had from here. The crust was as good as I recall, perfect in thickness and dense and the crumbles on top light as ever with a «I’ve just been toasted» crunchiness. The Chocolate crème has the same symptoms. A nice, well-executed crust with a ho-hum filling. In this case the chocolate felt like and exotic blend high in a dark chocolate content that seemed to overwhelm the sweetness one would expect from a mousse like pie. This is not what we come to expect. So here’s the concession I’ll make. I bought the pies on Monday and we didn’t serve them until Friday for X-mas dinner. They were kept refrigerated until serving, but let’s assume that these were in the last batch of pies made for the year(they closed for the season on December 24th), and they were not consumed«Fresh». So maybe this is not an ideal revew of the product at at it’s peak served at it’s peak. Nostalgia dictates at least three stars cause my memory of the pies of the past were stronger. Time will tell if the spring pies rekindle my passion for the famous Briermere pies.

There’s empirical evidence that small town pie stands channel the very meaning of being American. They’re as patriotic as a bald eagle listening to Lee Greenwood on a Zune while eating an apple crisp pie from Briermere Farms. During the summer months, lines stretch the length of a furlong. But once the city folk recede to their Manhattan dwellings for the off season, it becomes a bit more manageable to purchase one of their many fruit filled treats. You name the seasonal stone fruit or berry, and chances are they’ve folded it into a crust for your next family get together. They’ll run you upwards of $ 20 per pie, so they’re pricier than your standard Sara Lee varietal, but you know the old saying about getting what you pay for. These pies blow the big box brands out of the water.

I love the idea of farm to table and try to support local farms & farm stands. But at $ 4.00 a stalk(so i’m doing all the work) with 40% of the product spoiled, this was really disappointing.

Best pies ever! Briermere isn’t just great pies, they have fresh veggies, fig trees, spice plants, and amazing friggen pies! My favorites are the blueberry cream, and apple crumble. My oh my! I wish I could afford the calories and the price tag. Love these things.

Absolutely delicious and fresh! Friendly staff. Not overly sweet and just the perfect amount of sweetness. Definitely will return for more pies.

Great Farm stand with locally grown vegetables and fruit but more well known for their pies. This is the place to come for freshly baked pies. Varieties range from Blueberry, Apple and peach to Blueberry crème, Rhubarb strawberry. Watch out for the tour busses that come in mass from NYC. The line can be long but it’s worth the wait. I have not had a bad pie from this place.

Finally got to try this place after hearing about it for years! A bunch of friends and I stopped here after a weekend in Shelter Island. We got the pumpkin square, the apple turnover and the strawberry pie to share. The pumpkin square and the strawberry pie were really good, not too sweet with nice flaky crusts. The apple turnover was just ok — the outside crust was a bit too thick and hard. I was impressed they had a good assortment of off-season summer pies. They didn’t have any of fresh fruit cream pies, but they had strawberry rhubarb, peach, pear, etc. with the top crust. I’m guessing those are probably frozen once they’re made and taken out and baked daily. Pies her range from $ 16 to $ 18, not particularly cheap but comparable to Manhattan prices. The service here isn’t the friendliest. The woman at the counter was really reluctant to let me use my reusable cup for coffee. I would say this is a nice place for a pit stop but not worth a special trip or anything.

By far the best place on Long Island to buy a fresh pie. My Mom has taken me here since I was a kid and there still going strong after many years! Very large selection of fresh baked good and fruit pies from Long Island farms. They also have a fruit and vegetable stand in the front. The go to place for any trio out east should always begin or end here!

The best apple pie I’ve ever had. A little pricey, but well worth it. A friend told me about this place and now I make it an effort that if I’m ever out east to go out of my way to pick up a pie. They have so many options it’s tough to pick which one.

Is it a tourist trap? Maybe… Are their prices a little on the high side… well maybe a wee tad, but they do use their homemade, locally grown ingredients. Are the pies tasty and delicious? … Yes Is it worth bringing home 2 pies for 2 weekend events and bringing them over to the guests and having them drool when you said you went to Briermere — YES!!! While I will still think that my Apple Crisp pie is best, theirs surely is a lot less work for me, and sure hits the spot on a nice fall night for some pie a la mode. I really wish they would make little small, individual pies, but alas, a pie from here is a gift of sunshine. Yes, parking can be a nightmare and traffic around there can be CHAOTIC at best, so pack your patience. Recommendation would be to go to Briermere farms to start your North Fork day. Like others mentioned, their produce can be on the pricey side. I would also like to think that their TINY little room where they sell the pies out of would be bigger… come on, EXPAND… I get claustrophobic coming here!

Facts: Pie tastes good. Good pie is better than bad pie, although I’m not convinced of the latter’s existence. Briermere’s has very, very good pie. If you give people pie, they will like you more. If you give people Briermere’s pie, they might even invite you back to their house near the beach, despite your utter lack of tact and generally poor hygiene. ____________ This is a little farmstand in the middle of nowhere, but there’s always a line out the door, and frequently a line of cars out into the road. All because they have the best pie around. If you’re smart, you should go get some of this pie. Yes, they also have vegetables, fruit, cookies, screaming children,* and other baked goods, but it’s all about the pie. Luckily, the line moves quickly(and there’s a shorter line to the right if you don’t need to look at the display), because everyone is just trying to get their pie and go home to stuff their pie in their respective faces. Which is understandable, because this is about as delicious a pie as you can stuff into your face. Although I hear the cream pies are fantastic(blueberry in particular), I prefer to eat my pies warm and add my own ice cream as necessary, so I prefer the standard options of apple crisp, or raspberry peach if I’m feeling a bit wild. Really, the flavor doesn’t matter much though. Just get some pie and share it with your friends. Especially if they are nice enough to invite you out to their house near the beach, despite your utter lack of tact and generally poor hygiene. _____________ *I don’t think they are for sale though. The one I grabbed and stuffed in our trunk certainly didn’t seem like a good buy anyway.

The blackberry apple pie had a delicious filling — it was sweet, tasty, well-made, and had enough fruit. I wouldn’t say it’s the best pie in the world because I didn’t like the crust much. The crust and top of the pie is actually rather thick, dry, bland, unflavorful, and not pretty enough. When you eat the bottom crust with the filling, you don’t notice it so much, but with the top crust, it’s taste and texture is apparent. The strawberry muffin also wasn’t very good — I didn’t see any strawberry pieces baked in(there were some pink dented holes in the muffin), and I didn’t like the texture much — too rough. I would be interested in trying some of the other fruit or cream pies… mostly to eat the filling in them. (You have to buy a whole pie, it’s not sold in slices. Price range $ 17 – 22). Also, this stand’s fresh produce is pretty expensive!

You’re damn right it’s 5 stars! Best pies anywhere(that you don’t make yourself). My longtime secret has been exposed: some«imperfect» pies are sold for half-price, and you used to need to inquire for them, but now they are right in the display. In this way I snagged not one but TWO raspberry topped cream pies today for $ 11 each — cha-CHING! They also have a good selection of local fruits, veggies, jams and sweets. A must stop in wine country.

Briermere Farms made my trip to the Hamptons. A few friends had suggested we pull off our drive and stop at this well-known pie stand for a taste of home. We arrived to a picturesque stand and a line out the door. My husband let me choose the pie. I really would have liked to try more than one and there were so many to choose from but being just the two of us we kept it together and just got one. The blueberry cream pie is about as good as it gets when it comes to pie. A fluffy whipped cream center is topped with moist blueberries on a flaky crust. I can’t remember exactly how much this divine dessert cost but it frankly doesn’t matter as I would pay anything for a pie this good. We also got a chocolate chip cookie. It was also good. Whoever it is they have baking, sure knows what they are doing. The toughest part? Choosing among their 30 pies!

I’m am thankful that Briermere Farms is way out in Riverhead. If it were around the corner from my house I would weigh 300 pounds! I am absolutely addicted to the straight cherry pie. Tart cherries and incredible yeasty crust; so goood. The rest of my family has their favorites too. Coconut custard meringue is light and sweet and my daughter loves the apple-blackberry(where else can you get a apple-blackberry pie?). It’s not cheap, but greatness shouldn’t be cheap. If you haven’t tried this Long Island legend, it’s a must.

The Quick: Fantastic, ‘homemade’ pies that are irresistible when going on a vineyard tour. I recommend the strawberry rhubarb or the blueberry crumb. The Details: Make sure to buy a pie on the way to or way home from the Vineyards. I’ve tried almost every flavor over the years and they are all delicious. The pies pair nicely with white wine(or red port) or just a fork– I’ve been known to drunkenly try to eat right from the container, after too many glasses of wines… Note my date was NOT impressed. The Damage: The strawberry rhubarb was $ 17, I think the other fruits were a little less.

I lived in Riverhead in the 80’s and stopped here always so now I live in Tampa Fla and had a house guest send us a four pack of raspberry jam My family tasted and consumed one jar in a week Today we ordered a few cases of jams, but alas they cannot ship pies so for now we look at the photos but for sure need to road trip up to N Y to have a blueberry pie! If you’re out on LI you must stop here, something delicious will find you
