Very good! Get more sauce than you think! All the flavors meshed well and the fried plantain was a great addition! Lady at the front was very nice. Can take to go or sit in.

The have great soup but if you don’t get there as soon as they turn the stove off, forget about it! If you know it’s popular make enough. My moto is always«better to have more than not enough» IJS

Its ok. Its a last resort for me really. I grew up in a 100% jamaican family and I’m from Connecticut which is up north where a ton of Caribbean people reside so its hard not to find great Caribbean food up there. I recently moved to Riverdale from ATL but I was not new to this place because I went to their Jonesboro location before where I recieved extremely dry old tasting food. But despite my bad food at that one I figured I’d try it again and its better in Riverdale. Atlanta has better caribbean restaurants but if you’re in Riverdale this location is alright. Jerk chicken is just ok, jerk pork is dry and portion isn’t worth the price, oxtail is just ok and the beef patties and cocoa bread are pretty good. Their name doesn’t fit well because their jerk isn’t great so its definitely not a «jerk palace». But its decent enough if you want to try some jamaican food or have a taste for some.

Nice options. Good food. I had the jerk chicken lunch special. I like the fact that you can order smaller portions. My chicken was a little dry, but that would not stop me from ordering it again. I like the way they cook it. It’s grilled or broiled and has a crispy skin. I don’t like spicy food. This chicken had just the right amount of jerk seasoning. Rice and peas were Ok, but still good. The mixed veggies I had were really good. When I mixed them with the rice and peas, I made magic happen.lol.

I’ve been here a good 5 times. The 1st was horrible with burnt plantains, after that i said i wouldn’t go back. I ended up going back and every since everything has been better. I wish there was more oxtails and their a bit pricey, but you pay for what you want.

My wife and I decided to try this place again after a long hiatus due to the crappy attitude of the owner who got mad when I asked Why he was out of curry goat at six o’clock. We normally go to the Caribbean place behind the IHOP on the same strip. Plus the food Here always seemed just ok to me. Well since our regular place closes A little early on Friday we decided to give this place another chance Sense we were craving Caribbean food, and once again were we disappointed. We ordered the oxtails and jerk chicken and the food In my opinion tasted like crap. It didn’t even taste like it was seasoned. The peas and rice along with the gravy was just plain bland. And the the food was way overcooked, leaving leaving It very dry. Now Maybe the fact that I’ve had Caribbean food in the grand caymans, Falmouth, and negril Jamaica has shown me what true carribbean Food should taste like, and sadly this place is not it. For those who Have given four stars or better shows you haven’t had good Caribbean Food so it’s hard for you to compare. This is not authentic. Thank you very much but that was my last visit…

LOVETHISPLACE!!! Best jerk chicken meal or oxtail. My two fav. If you get the jerk make sure you get the extra BBQ sauce. It adds a lil more UMPH in it. Haha

This place is legit delicious authentic Jamaican. Best I’ve ever had. I know it’s kinda in a strange area if you live in Atlanta proper, but it’s worth the trek. The curry was perfect. Oxtail was also on point. Clean rest rooms, very nice staff. Couldn’t ask for anything more. I stopped in here on my way driving to Florida. It had the best Unilocal reviews of anywhere in the area. Best. Decision. Ever. It makes me sad I don’t live here, so I can’t go back. But you should go!

Outstanding! I got the lunch special, curry chicken that came with soda and the usual rice, beans, plantain, and cabbage. Everything was spot on. Chicken was delicious by itself(that’s the test, not with sauce on it). Curry was perfectly spiced. Huge bonus was clean bathrooms, and clean seating. Not easy in this area.

I really want to give Jerk Palace 4 or 5 stars because the ox tails are delicious, service is always prompt and courteous! My issue is when I order Jerk Wings, no matter how long the wings have sat underneath a heat lamp the still serve them, my wings were HORRIBLE, rubbery and chewy! I love this place but I will never order Jerk Wings again!

Jerk Palace, the only jerks here are people that don’t eat here. This place is my new favorite Jamaican place in the Atlanta area. We tried a bunch of things here on my first and only visit: Jerk Chicken — Was amazing. It tasted charcoal grilled, which I don’t think is possible in such a restaurant. The chicken was very balanced, unlike another Jamaican restaurant in town that goes heavy on the All Spice seasoning. You get an option of gravies, either curry or brown stew. I went with brown stew and it complimented the chicken very well. Curried Goat — There curried goat was also awesome. The goat was obviously bony and a little fatty which might turn off some people to this dish, but if you can get past it it’s definitely worth it. Served with lots of gravy over rice. Oxtail — Might have been the highlight of the meal. Again served with lots of gravy, and again perfectly balanced with no flavor dominating other than the beefiness of the oxtail. All of the above dishes were served with rice and peas, plantains and steamed cabbage. The rice and plantains were both very good, and the cabbage, was well, cabbage. I also tried the curry chicken and beef patties. I have never had a curry chicken patty before and loved it. I can’t wait to eat many, many, more of these. The beef patty was also good, but pretty standard. Atmosphere here is a little rundown, but they makeup for it with friendly service. This place maybe be a little far from Atlanta, but worth a Michelin-esqu detour to get here.

Of all the Jerk chicken restaurants in Atlanta, this one takes the cake and would make Bob Marley proud. First of all, the jerk chicken had a good sear to it. The chicken tasted wholesome and the sauce was perfect. Of course everyone has a different spice tolerance, but I thought it was at the perfect level. I also sampled a friend’s Ox Tail, which was tasty and tender, and apparently comes from cattle. In addition to the entrée, the cabbage and rice were absolutely delicious and fit the main entrée like a glove. This all came in the form of a lunch special along with a drink ending up under $ 7. Besides the lunch special, you can order small, medium, and large platters, which also look like strong options. The beef/curry chicken patties were also some of the best I’ve had at $ 2 a patty. The restaurant is very small and unpretentious. By the way, they have jerk turkey Thanksgiving holiday specials that can feed 10+ people so you may want to check that out.

This place has really good food. I love their oxtail and jerk chicken. Service can be slow if busy, but you can rectify that problem by calling in. Dining is take in or eat out. Staff is friendly.

the food is good. sometimes it is busy there and you will have to wait a while. but its hard to find good jamaican food, so i’d say its worth the wait. the prices are reasonable. though like most places. you get a large portion of rice/peas and a small amount of meat. and dont expect smiles/sunshine from the staff. they are not rude but certainly not the most pleasant people either.

Great tasting food here especially the jerk chicken; however, this place cuts the leg quarters across the bones which leaves fragments of chicken bones in your dish. I love the flavor of the curry chicken, jerk chicken, and beef patties. 3 stars for flavors but 1 rude cashiers ruins the 4th star. Don’t cut the chicken across the bones — cut it at the joint. Thanks. Great selection of drinks too.

I enjoy this restaurant. So far I have tried the Ox Tails, Curry Chicken and Jerk Chicken. They were all pretty good. I will return to this location again.
