The sushi always tastes fresh! The American Dream roll is my favorite specialty roll and is almost big enough for a meal. Also like the spicy tuna and the popcorn shrimp appetizer. Service has been great at times and rather rude at other times, so I guess it depends who you catch or their mood. I usually pick up for carry out.

A fan of this place. Food always good. Sushi nicely prepared and I love their tempura. Place is also clean and well maintained. Good and prompt service too. Will always come back.

I was meeting some friends in Riverdale. We were trying to decide on a neighborhood place to have dinner, and I saw this restaurant on a Unilocal list of top ten restaurants in Riverdale. I am glad to confirm that the good reviews are pretty much spot on. It took us a while to get there, and we were pressed for time. We told this to the waitress, who said, «No problem.» The service was quick and efficient. I wish I had asked the waitress for her name, because she was very nice. My friend got a veggie udon which looked great, and, according to her, tasted as great as it looked. I ordered a salad and sashimi. The salad was decent. The sashimi was wonderfully presented. It looked too beautiful to eat, but I did. The fish was fresh and delicious. The place is a bit narrow, but not cramped. The décor is nice, and you get to see the sushi chefs do their work. The prices, while a bit cheaper than in Manhattan, were pretty much on par with other Japanese restaurants. If you are driving into Riverdale, just a warning: the parking situation is not great. It took us a while to find a spot, and the main streets have metered parking. In a way we were lucky that it took a while, because we parked only a short bit before 7PM, so we really didn’t need to feed the meter that much. So, if you find yourself in Riverdale and are searching for a nice place to eat, definitely check out Aoyu Sushi!!!

I ate some sushi which is not fresh. Will never come back. The service here is also rude. This is not an authenic Japanese sushi restaurant, don’t be fooled.

The food here is great! Love the sushi!(highly recommend the«Pink Lady») they also give you moist towels when you first come in, but it is a completely casual place to eat, love the dash of formal. I’d give it all 5 stars, however it doesn’t have the most kid-friendly menu. I asked for plain white rice and plain shrimp for my boyfriend’s little brother and the waitress looked at me like I was speaking another language. But aside from that, love this place.

This place has amazing quality fish. They say they get it from Tsujiki market in Japan, and I believe them! The only reason I give 4 stars and not 5, is because I’ve only ordered delivery because I work close by. If I knew what it’s like to dine there in-person, I’m sure I could give this place a higher rating. But Aoyu always has fresh fish, great hot dishes as well, and great delivery service. I have no complaints, and can’t wait to dine here in person! Manhattan quality spot in the BX! Their omakase was nicely presented even for delivery! Great value for the quality. Aoyu won’t disappoint if you love sushi and appreciate quality!

Let’s get this straight I LOVEEEETHISSPOTTHEFOODISDELICIOUS! However the other night we dined in and had a spectacular dinner. DELICIOUS/FRESH!!! The reason for the 1 star… For one the service was okay the waitress was quite busy and so when we received our bill we decided to pay with our card and left the service tip in cash with the manager. We left her a 20% tip and on our way home then half way down the block the same waitress ran after us and complained that we did not sign our cc bill and pointed at the tip line on the bill??? My husband and I were Flabbergasted! For sure we signed the bill I saw him do because I teased him about wanting to learn his signature. I jokingly told my husband I wanted forge his signature so I could purchase myself something expensive(jokingly). The waitress then proceeds to show us the bill and points at the tip line which we crossed out since we had tipped her in cash. We were SHOCKED and speechless at that very moment the manager yells to the employee in their language and the waiter runs back to the restaurant!!! Totally… completely disgusted!!! Not sure if I can ever return after her(waitress) that stunt!!!

I went here on a Monday for an early dinner for three and I left so pleased. First of all, I love sushi restaurants but I never leave with a full stomach without having to order countless plates and sushi rolls(and in return burning through my wallet.) However, that was not the case here, I spent a reasonable amount of money and left with a full(and happy) stomach. The rolls are reasonably priced and carry a lot of goodness within them that makes for more than enough! The service was very speedy and the servers were nice. The rolls themselves were absolutely delicious and fresh. We also had calamari as an appetizer which was very good, one of the best I’ve had in a long time. All in all, I really enjoyed this place and will be returning!

Great hidden jam worth driving from the city. Wonderful elegantly wrapped and decorated sushi rolls. 4 stars because i think they should simplify the menu and make things much easier and simpler

it’s all in relative. if you are spoiled with great Japanese food in the city, then this is just another ok restaurant. HOWEVER, the game changer is this is almost the ONLY sushi place around this neighborhood, so, it is pretty decent. For the price, you definitely have better food in the city. We have take outs from here all the time, maybe we should go sit down and have a omakasi? What do you guys think?

Wow, Wen M. went HARD. This snazzy spot in a chic area pushed out a substantial & tasty but forgettable sashimi lunch.

Best sushi in the Bronx! When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the beautiful Japanese style décor. The place has a very upscale look-very crisp and modern. It looks more like a restaurant you would find in downtown Manhattan, I almost forgot I was in the Bronx. I came in for lunch, after a co-worker recommend I try the place out. I was not disappointed. They great lunch selections, in great portions. I chose a lunch special, which contained a California roll, Miso soup, Chicken Teriyaki with white rice, Gyoza(pork dumpling) and salad. The food was fantastic! The sushi was very fresh, and everything had such great flavor. It was such a generous offering for only $ 11.50(see photo). I’m definitely going back for lunch and dinner!

Aoyu Sushi definitely hit the spot and quenched my insatiable thirst for good sushi. I usually don’t go to the Bronx for food, but I found Aoyu while casually strolling through the area. The restaurant sits on a cute block with other dining establishments. I went to Aoyu with a large group that they quickly accommodated. The restaurant is very clean and has quick service. I orders three vegetarian rolls that tasted crisp and fresh. Everyone raved about how good their meals were.

Horrible Service! Okay food. Would I eat there? Absolutely Not. The waitress was throwing the food at our table, no care what so ever.

I had organized a group outing to Wave Hill on a Saturday morning and we didn’t realize it was that small, so after 2 hours we were done and what’s a good activity for group of Asians? why, eating of course! Trusty Unilocal gave us this sushi restaurant at ~1mile away, so I called and confirmed that they can accommodate all 11 of us and after the woman checked with someone, we were confirmed for 12:30! We got there and found free on-street parking(not metered) about 2 blocks away, and were seated immediately! YAY~~ AC and ice cold water felt so good after walking under sun in a park for 2 hours. We were delighted to find that the lunch menu is available on Sunday and most of us got the chirashi bowl $ 15 and some got other items from the extensive lunch menu. Lunch comes with soup AND salad. YES, both! The salad was a healthy portion too. The food arrived quickly and the chirashi bowl was filled with 10 slices of various sashimi(tuna, salmon, yellowtail, etc) and 2 shisho leaf and ginger and radish strings. The fish was fresh and relatively thick and rice was warm. Friend got the sushi and sashimi mix and that looked really good too but was a bit more expensive. We were quite loud since we haven’t seen each other in a while but the restaurant was completely fine. I can’t remember if the water was refilled but i might have been very focused on the food. Didn’t have any desserts, so can’t comment. Restaurant was bright and clean and although the restaurant looked small, it was spacious enough for us not to feel cramped. Definitely would go back if i was in the area again.

I’ve waited to give this review because I’m torn between the four and the five. I’ve given much fewer of the latter. But this place deserves the five. One of the main reasons is the warmth I’m greeted with each time I enter. That’s key. They provide you with a hot towel to clean your hands. The service is prompt, and they don’t rush you with your dinner. The dishes I’ve had are hit or miss, but that’s a taste issue rather than a freshness issue. The food here tastes fresh. I’ve even ordered from their delivery service. It came on time, and the food was just as delicious as in the restaurant.

I haven’t tried their restaurant inside yet but I can’t tell you how happy I am to live only a few blocks away from here. I ordered sushi for lunch on a really bad, cranky, craving day… I call this PMMS(Please Make Me Sushi) Their lunch special was plenty, I ordered the sushi platter, which came with 5 pieces of sushi and a cali roll. Everything was fresh and they do add wasabi to under the fish and rice so FYI. It also came with miso soup and a side salad, very very good dressing, reminds me of my old job at edo’s in westchester where the ginger dressing is hearty and homemade! LOVEIT. I also wanted to try their uni, although I’m such a snob about uni and I had bad experiences twice with eating it, so I was a little sketchy. I ordered one piece to try it and it was super fresh, check out my uni pic, sorry peeps, I picked on it first lol I couldn’t resist. You can still see the detail to it, super fresh and sweet! I loved it!!! And one piece is $ 5, not bad. I’ve had it for more money and I spit it out. Also if you order delivery it came super fast!
