A buddy and I headed out to 340 Defense to zero our rifles and for some trigger time. It isn’t easy finding an outdoor range that can provide KD targets 100 – 400 yards in the Northern Virginia and surrounding areas. We decided to give this range a try and we’re glad we did. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. He spent a few minutes providing an overview of the shooting areas, hourly/annual cost, and target purchases. It took me about 2 minutes to fill out a few forms and I was ready to shoot. One of the nice features with this range is that the shooting bench is covered, which is good because it was raining on our trip. There’s nobody breathing down your back — shooters use common sense and police their own area. The overall cost($ 80/two people) wasn’t too bad for an hour of range time and two paper targets. We considered becoming annual members, but wanted the ability to shoot a few times on the range before locking into a long term commitment. I am sure we will be back and will most likely become annual members so we can have unlimited range time. So if you’re in the area and looking for a pistol/rifle range, this is definitely a good place to keep in mind.
