Crystal Piano & Music Lesson

Crystal is great with my daughter, she is very patient and knowledgeable. Definitely will refer her to others.

You’ll be hard pressed to find great piano teacher anywhere in the bay!
I took the lessons in Oakland before but didn’t seem to improve then I found «Crystal». She was understanding the foundation of music and few months later I had solid playing ability!!! Amazing!!!
Crystal is great, supportive and understanding!
She is also an amazing pianist. She can really kill it.
Unfortunately she needed to move to Modesto.
I miss her really. If she come back to bay, I will be definitely back to her … Please come back.

We have our two girls, 8 and 5 years old, taking lessons with Crystal for 3 months now and we couldn’t be more pleased! Our girls are doing great! They like Crystal very much and I think a lot of it is the fact that she is so good with them. She is very understanding and encouraging and you can tell that she really knows her stuff, from the technical to the art of teaching. She gives them a short homework assignment each week, which fits in really nicely with their normal homework from school. What a concept — to include a musical lesson as part of their normal homework curriculum!
Over the Christmas break we played and sang Old Saint Nicholas and Old McDonald Had a Farm over and over again, which they actually played from just being able to read the musical notes in the very short time they have been with Crystal!
And as busy parents, Crystal has been more than kind and understanding by allowing us to make-​up missed sessions and her rate, which includes a small fee for her travel to our home, is also very reasonable!
I highly recommend Crystal to any parent looking for a piano teacher who is good with children and very technically competent.

I played piano on and off as a child and stopped for over 14 years. Since then, I’ve always had the desire to continue learning, but was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to catch up easily until seeing Crystal’s ad on Craigslist. Her rate was $ 40/​hr which I thought was very affordable and offered consultation/​first lesson at no charge. I immediately contacted Crystal to setup an appointment. The first lesson covered more than I had expected (which is a good thing!) and by the end, I was totally motivated to commit myself to learning again.
It’s been six months now and so far I’m very happy with my results. My main interest was to learn how to play jazz and gospel. Crystal knew exactly the kind of style that I was after. With her help, my techniques and difficulty level of pieces I can play has dramatically improved in just a few months.
If you’re looking for a piano instructor for your child, parents, siblings, friends or for yourself, search no further! Crystal is a wonderful instructor with highly professional performing skills, comprehensive knowledge of music and a great mentor. She makes each lesson enjoyable and valuable. I regret not finding her sooner.

The rate is very affordable ($ 40 /​hr), and that’s the lowest I’ve seen. I’ve been Crystal’s student since Aug 2010 and I’ve enjoyed every class.
She covers both piano skills and some music theory. The teaching material is very flexible, so if you want to, you can learn classical music and your favorite pop songs at the same time.
The lessons are very interactive and she is very patient in answering all my questions, including those from my emails. This is perfect for me because, as an IT guy, I always like to ask why and how.
Last but not least, she does offer one free trial lesson, which is great for those who are interested but are not sure if this is right for you.
