I think that whale is my real father. We have the same blowhole and genitals. I just hope the Sea Sheppard and it’s cross eyed captain kept him safe from the evil Japanese whalers.

This cute monument is near a seniors centre, a stinky public bathroom, and a small park that’s littered with garbage. I can’t think of a more perfect environment for a whale to be memorialized.

This one nails it for me in terms of nostalgia. Years ago, I became enamored with a certain book called«Humphrey: the Wayward Whale.» It was a great piece on the humpback who swam inland from the SF Bay and ended up near Rio Vista. Long story short, Humphrey’s story had a happy ending, and the town of Rio Vista decided that he deserved a stone monument for his efforts. You can still visit it at the Rio Vista harbor.
