We reviewed Octavio’s Painting unfavorably earlier today. Then, after we posted our review, we discovered one more – very serious – issue. Opening a bedroom closet they painted, we discovered about $ 500 dollars worth of clothing stained with white paint. The company’s condescending attitude when we complained about the first problems we’d noticed make us unwilling to call them back to discuss this. We know what their response will be – excuses and justifications. This is the worst painting experience we have ever had.

This was an unfortunate choice on my part. I had good exterior paint work done by these guys in the past. This was not the same attitude or professionalism we experienced before. They scratched our red oak floor, in multiple, places dragging furniture around. The manager told me it was just a few scuffs and they could be washed with water to make them disappear. Not so much. Also broke two of the shelves on a bookshelf dragging it around. The manager told me it was my word against theirs since I had repaired it before he saw it. He basically didn’t believe me. The blinds were not all reinstalled correctly. Unprofessional clean up in the yard and indoors. They left paint on some furniture and floors. Left pits in the yard where they poured out the water they used to clean brushes and rollers. The attitude of the manager was that we were just being a pain and fussy. Lots of excuses why they did or didn’t do things the way they were supposed to. No apology. The crew seemed inexperienced and not clear on what needed to be done when. Nice guys but not the best paint crew. I could go on, but you get the picture. They did compensate us $ 100 on a $ 2600 job. Oh and don’t try to put it on a credit card. They charge 2% extra. All in all an unpleasant experience for us. Three days worth on three rooms with a crew of five. Go figure.

We recently had the exterior of our home in Santa Fe painted by Octavio’s and are very pleased with the results. There were numerous weather related challenges(wind, snow) that caused the duration of the project to go a little long but they were out of their control. They did a high quality job. There were some coverage issues with the Sherwin Williams elastomeric product they used but Octavio put on as many coats as were required to correct the issue. Our home was a synthetic stucco that was 12 years old and must have absorbed paint like a sponge because there were areas that required 3 coats to make it right. There pricing was very good. I got 4 bids(2ABQ contractors and 2 Santa Fe) SF pricing was outrageous. I would definitely recommend Octavio’s.

These folks painted my recently purchased home in Rio Rancho and they did an amazing job. At my request, they painted the entire interior, all trim and even inside the closets. I really appreciated that they had an experienced, detail-oriented supervisor at my house the entire time working as one of the team members. This is an experienced group that listened well to what the customer wanted and didn’t miss on even one little touch. The whole place is better than it was, any small dings in the walls have disappeared. I saw the level of effort and the good-willed readiness to respond on all of my requests. I cannot imagine anybody else achieving this level of quality in workmanship and they did it within my time frame even though I inquired only about two days beforehand, Octavio’s Painting had full capability to add staff and get the job done very quickly. Do you have a couple of days when you want someone to get your entire house perfectly painted, who else will do that?
