Six years ago I stayed here before it was a Howard Johnson. Now it is really sad to see it starting to fall apart. It still has a bit of its old charm. You cannot really complain at $ 50 a night. They have a free breakfast and a pool and a cool courtyard. Dogs are allowed too. Still has all of the old pictures of historical albuquerque hanging the hallway. I hope those always stay.

The worst!!! venue for any event!!! Do not use this place! Inn @Rio Rancho. They«lost» my $ 300 unity candles along with smaller items and then blamed us. Stole items from gift table. Then tried to pawn off used items for new items we had brought ourselves. Kept items left in rooms. It was a complete mess. Sarah and the staff including the manager were not organized! I couldnt believe the way they treated us. Even worse not a shadow of concern! Worst customer service ever! The manager even blamed us for their every error. Please read all about my experience below. I hope no one ever has to go through this! … They already have negative feedback with BBB.

This place was a Thanksgiving nightmare! They charge $ 15 a Dog a night for rent. Reasonable until you add in the $ 400 veterinarian bill, for a scorpion bite and nasty infection that occured INSIDE our room on thanksgiving night. Do not take your little loved ones there, your 4 legged and your human babies. It’s just not worth the risk. My poor little guy was very very sick. They obviously dont have any pest control. The grounds they advertise as vast and peaceful are full of dog feces, broken glass and cigarette butts. Thank goodness the Cottonwood Animal Clinic was able to see him in an emergency, they were a god send. Traveling home a day early to California was stressful and difficult. I would post pix if I can. If anyone wants to contact me for further info my email is … side note, the very fridge at the continental breakfast had dead bugs and hair on the bottom., should have left that very minute.

It is one of you better options in Rio Rancho, the proximity to dining options is great. The hotel itself needs a refurbishing, the rooms are a little worn but they are clean. Good value for the area.

This is a big facility with a large indoor courtyard that has the pool, big lawn and lots of meeting space for a conference or big gathering. It is old and worn, It has been rehabbed a bit since 1958(seen on the bill of sale on the wall outside the breakfast area) The place was very empty and I still wonder why we were placed in the way back. This meant our car was in an almost industrial setting, causing us to unload and move the car to the front. It just did not feel friendly. The gates on the back stuck and did not operate nicely either. The room was huge. It had a work table, but no chair for the work table and no plus withing 15 feet. The Lack of plugs was VERY noticeable. I think I need to carry extension cords to travel now as this can be a common problem. Seems motels and hotels seem to care only about their lights and clocks and a plug for the bathroom. Not for cell phones, cameras, computers and more! Now the breakfast is a waste of your time at this place. It is like a Costco breakfast worth about 99 cents on a good day. Oh well, there are too many other choices to consider, lets go there, elsewhere!

When there was a convention in Rio Rancho(read: everything’s booked), and I ended up needing a room outside Albuquerque there(last minute) to carpool up to Santa Fe early the next morning, the nice folks at Inn at Rio Rancho had the last decent room in town! Lovely accommodations, nice staff, can’t say I was impressed with the breakfast, but there was fruit and oatmeal available. Lovely room opened onto a nice green courtyard where there was a pool gazebos, etc. not a bad spot.
