Guthries Chicken

Great chicken, meh atmosphere. I started just hitting the drive thru and taking it home. Sauces are great, make sure that you ask for extra!

Loved the wings got a bucket full… did not roll in sauce but had it on side… sweet & sassy was on the hot side wanted more sweet but yum… honey bbq sauce great… Had to order more coldslaw. pint size… the sides are baby size… otherwise will return often. 4 stars

I used to go to one of the original Guthries in Athens, Ga way back in the early 90’s while visiting my best friend who was attending UGA. It was a must do while I was there. And we always smelled like Guthries in the elevator going back to her dorm room. In fact you could always tell who had been there… Haha! Well this Guthries is all that nostalgia minus the greasy stench in your clothes when you leave. And I find it does taste slightly different than zaxby’s. I think Guthries sauce is superior. I stick with the only thing they offered back in 1991… Fingers, fries and Texas toast. And that wonderfully tangy Guthries sauce which was rumored to clean a penny back to super shiny if you dropped one in it! I don’t know if I am just so nostalgic I have blinders on… But whatever I love you Guthries! Thanks for all the memories.

When we travel, my husband and I love to try new restaurants but when we travel with our dog, we don’t like to go in places and leave her in the car. That’s why Guthries was so convenient! They have a drive thru and it was a new place for us! They were quick and very friendly! I got the kids meal and my husband just got the snack meal. The chicken was tasty, juicy and nicely breaded. The fries had a great seasoning on them and the sweet tea was really good! The kids meal came with a 2 pack of oreos. If I travel through that area again, we would definitely stop by again!

Great chicken strips and good chicken wings. Drive thru is great but the chicken is cooked to order so the drive thru is more drive up and wait. I wouldn’t let this prevent you from going. Staff is very nice and attentive.
