I want to preface this review that this is solely based on my visit here today. This rest area is undergoing a major overhaul. Everything here is all in trailers from the restrooms to the visitor center. The restrooms are small and close quarters due to this. As they indicate before coming to the welcome center, only limited services are available. For the restrooms, there seems to be a continuous smell that comes out of there, and the water looked a bit discolored as well when I went to wash my hands after using the facilities. The information center is in another trailer next to the restrooms. They have the normal brochures and such that you would find at any other state’s welcome center. I think this place will be much better once the plans are fully completed and is a true functioning welcome center again without all of the trailers. Until then, two stars it is.

Apparently undergoing renovation, by which I mean the place has been torn down and replaced with absolutely horrendous portable restrooms. No one seems to be cleaning or maintaining them.

When you visit a rest area that also serves as a state’s Welcome Center, you expect a nice sized facility. Well eventually it looks like this one may be that but right now it’s under construction and you are forced to use a temporary parking lot and temporary restroom facilities in a trailer. There’s nothing here to really welcome you except for a few touristy magazines. But they do have a sign on the interstate stating that there are limited options here. Wait a few months and I am sure this will be a grand facility.
