RIGS Adventure

Had a great raft trip in July with Rig’s. Will definitely use them again next year! Our guide was fun and knowledgeable and we felt safe the entire trip. Gorgeous scenery too!

Have been coming to Ouray now for 5 years. They are always very helpful and very nice.

We have used Rigs as a family three or four times in the past; the most recent time was this last summer rafting down the San Miguel river. We had a blast and had a wonderful tour guide, Tom! This is a company you can always count on to show you the scenery of beautiful Colorado in such a fun & magnificent way! My highest recommendation! We use them every time we’re in town!

Rigs offers several different activities — float trips, river rafting and guided fly fishing trips among them. Rigs is also a great fishing store with all the equipment you’ll ever need. I’ve done all the activities and have been thoroughly satisfied every time. On float trips with my family, they have been great — lots of fun and very service oriented and professional with a focus on safety. I have learned to fly fish by going on guided trips with their guides. I’ve taken my 12 year old daughter and a friend who both really enjoyed it — in large part due to the patient and helpful guides we had. I would highly recommend Rigs for any activity they offer the next time you’re in SW Colorado.

We had a great two day float with Jeff and Matt. They put us on the fish the whole trip and stayed patient with a bunch of amateurs. This was a special trip for my father’s 70^th birthday and we are glad we chose Rigs to guide our trip. Thanks for the memorable experience.

My nephew and I traveled to Ridgway for a long weekend and had a blast. Saturday am, we went fly fishing on the most beautiful (and private) stretch of the Uncompaghre with Garrett. Both of us were total newbies and we cleaned up, catching several fish apiece! Garrett was patient and showed a great rapport with my 16 year old nephew. We were both so happy just to be out on the river in a spectacular setting, but once we caught fish (and big ones!), we were psyched! The next day, we went kayaking with Lisa in cool individual, inflatable craft (I knew better than to try the divorce boats). Our weather was less than stellar with thunderstorms which threatened to cancel our outing, but Lisa was friendly, energetic, and kept cool with the uncertainty. Finally, the trip was a go, and we set off down the Uncom again in a steady rain (but no lightning). She kept us safe and showed us the cool riparian environment. We had a great time. I am very impressed with the Rigs staff, plus (what can I say) the website was great and made scheduling a breeze.

RIGS turned out to be great to rent a kayak and a SUP from. The employees were super friendly and very helpful getting the gear strapped to my small car. Although I think the rental was a bit pricey, it was for a full day which was more than enough.

My wife and I used RIGS for guided fly fishing and kayaking. We were very pleased with their service. Their guides know their water very well.
Our fly fishing guide spent a lot of time helping us refine our cast; I’ve fished with a lot of other outfits where the guides are more concerned with their own fishing than that of their clients and it was refreshing to have a guide who was really there to help. He knew the river well and we caught a huge cutthroat trout.
Our kayaking guide was well organized and knew a lot about the local flora and fauna. The lunch that was provided was very nice and much better than the cheap crap that most places offer.

We took the «half day» whitewater kayaking trip with them. Basically everything she told me to sell our group on going changed as the day progressed. We were supposed to get our own guide who was going to teach us about the river. We shared guides with an inexperienced couple who we had to continually wait for. We explained that we all had experience and didn’t need to be taught the basics. So they told us we could run the river twice or keep doing the beginning part repeatedly. After we finished our run fairly quickly, I mentioned this to the guide and she was bewildered at the request. So basically we spent $ 95 each for 1.5 hours on the river (and the last 20 minutes of that was flat water and another 20 minutes was an unscheduled stop at a memorial park). For $ 95 you should at least get a half day on the water, and what is advertised. When we mentioned this to the staff at the office, their response was like «oh, sorry.» Unless you are a beginner and want a really short introductory run, then go to Telluride or Durango.

My wife and I went to RIGS for a ½ day rafting trip. The staff at the shop were excellent and professional. We had a blast with our two guides Tom and Ian. The water fights were a lot of fun too. Thanks for a great time. The ½ day trip would be excellent for those with younger kids as well.
