My husband and I call this restaurant kitty cat café cause they used to have a cute little kitty milling about. Anyway, the people are lovely and the food is always delicious.

This place is huge… for no reason though. The menu option is very limited. They really don’t offer much. The space is very spacious and kept very clean. I came in around the late afternoon and was empty. I don’t think they get much business. Nothing off the menu appealed to me so I ordered an iced vanilla coffee which tasted average to me. Nothing amazing.

They have Thai now! It’s nice to see some diversifying restaurants and tastes in our neighborhood, so my girlfriend and I are happy to stop by for dinner or just to pick up a Thai Iced tea to-go. We’d like to see them get more business, so I thought it may help to write a review here on Unilocal. They are offering free iced teas to dine-in patrons now, which is a great plus!

It is a very nice spacious family run place that has a new age twist to it, the food is good although they are not big on greens or fruit prices reasonable help is genuinely friendly there is enough room to hang around always good music track on. I am truly happy to have them in my neighborhood.

A solid little coffee shop/diner type place. The food is really cheap, especially for New York; its not the best quality in the world, but it’ll do in a pinch. The pancakes and french toast we had were good enough and the coffee was fine. Not the best meal I’ve ever had but I was shocked by the price and enjoyed how friendly the staff was. Also there’s a cat running around the place which is awesome.

There are slim pickings in our neighborhood for a cup of coffee or a quick lunch and Bravo Café Concert is our favorite place to go. Family owned and operated, the owners clearly care about their business and it shows –the service is friendly, the servings generous, and you can order everything from hamburgers to empanadas. It’s also super clean!

This place is an oasis in the neighborhood. The sandwiches and breakfast options are great. The place is really interestingly decorated, with a fusion of South American and Asian themes, and the staff are so over-the-top friendly I feel like I’m not even in New York when I go there. My only complaint is that they close so early on weekends! I realize that their hardcore patrons are local workers who are usually only in the neighborhood for breakfast and lunch on weekdays. Maybe as the neighborhood grows in population they will have a reason to stay open longer on weekends, which is about the only time I can get there anymore.

This family-run place is full of potential, although it’s not really clear what the owners are trying to do with it. It’s just around the corner from me, but I only noticed it existed last winter because unfortunately they have the worst hours ever. Located on Seneca at Stockholm, it’s a large space with more tables than they’ll ever use and is almost always empty. They also have free Wi-fi, although I’m pretty sure my girlfriend and I are the only ones who have ever taken advantage of that. The décor is a hodge-podge of Mexican folk art, generic prints and a lot of plants. There’s also a cat that ignores everyone and lounges on the floor. The counter is more impressive with big wood shelves displaying baked goods and your classic coffee house chalkboard menu written in all different colors. Overall, it’s a cozy atmosphere and a place I would like to hang out on rainy days, with a cup of coffee and my laptop. There’s also a huge flat-screen TV on the back wall… that is never on, and a disco ball/colored lights hanging in the center over the tables. Wait… What? They must clear out the tables and use it as a dance floor at night. Curveball: they aren’t open at night. Sundays they close right at 2pm. Weekdays they’re only open ’til 5. And they aren’t even open early enough to grab a coffee on my way to work. Fail. Until recently, I had only had the weekend brunch(if I was up early enough). They have all your standard combos, breakfast sandwiches, bagels & pastries. The food is cheap, but very mediocre even for the price: flimsy French toast, bland potatoes, heavily buttered toast, okay eggs & bacon. The biggest killer is that they give you plastic utensils and serve everything on Styrofoam plates.(Have you ever seen what sizzling bacon does to a Styrofoam plate?) When the Associated grocery store is pretty much next door, you might as well just go shopping if you’ve already walked that far. Luckily, there’s a more extensive lunch menu. They have a well-stocked Boar’s Head deli with plenty of sides, desserts, beverages and a soup-of-the-day. They also do grilled and fried things, including a few appetizers. All of the specialty sandwiches sounded appetizing, but today I found out that they make a mean Reuben! Standard recipe, but it’s the perfect ratio of thin & juicy corned beef, melted Swiss, thousand island, and sauerkraut! What I liked best is that it’s not ridiculously huge, like most places that give you 2 inches of meat piled high and falling out. The light rye wasn’t quite substantial enough to hold up to the juices, though. It didn’t fall apart, but it did soak through and left me with slimy hands. Maybe if I had gotten it toasted… I want this place to do well, really I do, but there’s just this huge disconnect when it comes to the atmosphere and the actual product. Like, what exactly are they trying to be? It’s nicer than a deli, more spacious than a coffee shop, but doesn’t have table service, plates, silverware, alchohol, etc. in order to be considered a restaurant. And what are that flat screen and disco ball for, anyway? Nobody likes to see a family business go under, but unless they revamp their business model and expand their hours, I don’t know how they’re going to make it.
