Several years ago the universe set me up with Louis (Louis and Annie were in the process of opening this salon at that time) — THANK YOU UNIVERSE! It has been great to have a true stylist. You are my hero and I trust you completely with my hair. I referred a relative from out of town to you last week for you to fix a bad cut that she had gotten. She tells me that you are now her stylist and she will come here to have her hair done (an 8 hour drive). As we discussed how great you are, we decided that you have a gift. I am so grateful to be your client.

I have visited Louis three times now – the first two visits were for simple highlights… no problem there. Today, however, I asked for something only slightly more complex than highlights and the result was a train wreck. Literally. The color was way off from what I had asked for at the beginning of the appointment. I waited patiently until my hair had been blow dried, hoping against hope that the color just looked too light and orange-​ish while it was wet. Not the case.
Fretting that this was somehow my fault – that I had somehow miscommunicated what I had wanted – I sheepishly paid, left a tip as I usually do, and departed.
I have cried over a bad hair appointment only once in my 30+ year life. Today brings that total to two. It is literally that bad.
Once I had pulled myself together post-​appointment and vented to my (very supportive) husband, I gained the courage to at least call Louis and ask him why my hair looked so different than what I had asked for. He understood that it was much lighter than it should have been and to his credit he told me to come back in and he would fix it with another 30 minutes of my time.
I opted not to take him up on that offer. I did not want to process my hair twice in one day. Louis told me that whatever he intended to do with my hair to fix it would not damage my hair, but I wanted to avoid any further problems.
I won’t be going back. Goodbye hard-​earned income, hello bad hair month (s).

moved to Mississippi from San Diego in June. I found this salon on Unilocal and Angie’s List since I don’t know anyone here yet. I have been to see Annie twice. My first appointment was a consultation and hair cut. I was trying her out to make sure we were on the same page about taming my frizzy damaged hair. The cut was fantastic and I made an appointment for color the following week. She takes the time to learn your hair and she goes over how to blow dry and care for it.

Annie is fantastic! She really knows her hair and her way around scissors. I’ve had short hair for the past few years and bounced around with a couple of different styles. Annie nailed it. On top of that, my hair is very fine and straight – she was able to give it some awesome volume, just from the cut. I will definitely return here.
