Nice place. Went there on a Thursday and found out it was ladies night. Good wine prices ! I had the steak with crab and a loaded baked potato. It was good. The steak needed to be seasoned though. Service at the bar was great and everyone seemed like they were having a good time ! Will be back to try the salmon.

Met friends here last night. Even after reading other people’s reviews I was quite surprised by the look of this place. More bar than restaurant. There is a separate, quiet area. We sat on the bar side where a band was playing. The band was very good. I ordered the Seafood Pasta, very satisfied with the large Scallops and Shrimp. Over all the meal was terrific, a little pricey but good ! My husband had the Prime Rib. Again, great portion but he said it was slightly over cooked. Said it was seasoned well but not the Medium Rare he ordered. If we lived here we would be back. A lot to choose from on the menu!

This place is ok, but over priced. I would definitely look somewhere else for a good dinner at a better price. I haven’t found that somewhere else yet, but why I do I’ll let you know. I don’t mind paying more for food, but it has to be worth it. Based on the planted pictures by an person obviously related to the business I hoped for some really great food. I ordered Beef Tenderloin Tips($ 18.00) «Fried with peppercorn sauce» and Seared Yellowfin Tuna($ 18.00) «Three 1st Place Awards! Seasoned and seared, served sliced with apricot chipotle sauce.» First of all the serving size for both fit into the smallest box to-go containers they have, you know, the ones usually used for desserts. For $ 18 a pop I expected way more than that. The sauce for my tuna was so hot it melted the plastic container it was in and spilled all over everything. The tuna was super over spiced and honestly I’ve had better at Osaka Japanese Restaurant for $ 10. I would disregard the«three first place awards» I mean where are the awards from, what are their credentials. I think they’re self-awarded because this was not an $ 18 piece of tuna. And trust me I know tuna. I’d pay $ 10 for your tuna Kathryn’s but never again will I pay $ 18. I feel like I could have made my own fried beef tenderloin tips for way less than $ 18. They were tasty but nothing special and again for $ 18 ridiculously priced for the serving size. Maybe I’d pay $ 13 for the amount and flavor if it came as a meal with a side of rice or potatoes or $ 10 as an appetizer. I will not be returning to Kathryn’s, overpriced and overrated.

Solid performance as usual. Steaks are on a par with Ruth’s Chris, and several sides, particularly the Green Gradoo in its several variations, is unique and tasty. The green salad is a weak spot and the décor/atmosphere/energy level is a little blah, otherwise five stars would be a possibility.

This place is awesome. If you’re looking for a fancy dress up place this isn’t it. But if your looking for great food and great live music this is the perfect place. I had an awesome large piece of Redfish topped with Shrimp mushrooms and artichoke in a delicious white wine sauce. It was cooked perfectly. I’m told on Sunday’s all redfish is $ 15 instead of reg price. It was accompanied by a very large bowl of fresh vegetables(broccoli squash onions and carrots). Also came up a side salad. Best part of all is the friendly people who work here. My waitress was Natalie. Ask for her she will take care of you. Met and exceeded my expectations. The live music was great too. A husband and wife team who played great music while I was eating. Thumps up, please visit this establishment you won’t be disappointed.

The chicken nachos are wonderful. What makes they so fabulous you ask. I am sure it is their secret recipe. But the chips are so thin and crispy and the toppings are plentiful. The filet is perfectly cooked.

I’m a big time foodie and I gotta say, this is one of the best restaurants in MS. My BF and I was just there for our 3 year anniversary, food was amazing. I gave it a 4 because the air conditioning was probably set at 85, felt like my makeup was about to melt off of my face, and I found a hair in my food. Management apologize by giving us a free slice of cheesecake. We enjoyed the place and will be back soon, probably on a cooler day haha.

The service and atmosphere is great here however I had higher expectations in the food. The food was just okay. My steak, asked for medium, was more on the WELLDONE side, I should have asked for Medium-Rare. We got the peppercorn filet and the rib-eye. There was nothing special about it. I am a big fan of peppercorn sauce, but this was way too salty, I had to scrape the sauce off to eat the rest of my steak. The sides were just mediocre and we did get an appetizer, the fried mushrooms, that was pretty good. I may come back to try the Sunday/Monday prime rib special and give this place another shot. The only other downside is that the restaurant smells funny. I am not sure what it is but it has a weird odor as we walked in.

This is one of the best places for steak in metro Jackson. The prime rib is hard to beat. The atmosphere is upscale casual, and there is always live music. This is a great place to take a date, or to simply get out and enjoy a terrific meal while listening to live music. Sunday night they have a half priced prime rib special, so if you haven’t tried it yet, Sunday may be the best time.

This is a neighborhood gem par excellence. If it wasn’t for Unilocal,I might have missed out on this slightly-eclectic but very memorable experience smack in the middle of an unassuming strip mall on Old Canton Road. I kinda figured there was something unusual going on when we pulled up to a full parking lot. The experience turned up a notch the second you open the blacked out doors and are greeted to a local cover band doing everything from Johnny Lee Hooker to the Animals and even Rick James. Yeah, there’s live music nightly as the menu says. We arrived so late that we were able seat ourselves but we were quickly served by a bright eyed waitstaff who, though not very thorough with the drink list, we’re more than helpful with the food… and speaking of which… I’d wager that just about everything on the menu is some form of good. I even ate the house salad with its iceberg lettuce. The halibut with crab was perfectly cooked with large lump crab meat atop… pleasantly surprised in the«house of the rising sun.» The portion size is actually very generous. I added broccoli in hollandaise as my side. I also tried the seafood pasta with Gulf shrimp, scallops, and crab meet with a cajun sauce. Also great. Even the dinner rolls served as an accompaniment were surprisingly good. The signature cocktail is the French passion cosmo and is light bodied and sweet addition to any meal I actually preferred the gin gimlet… but there were at least 4 other in-house cocktails worth trying… Plus a decently selected wine list. I’m not always fond of coming back home… but let me tell ya, Kathryn’s lessened the blow. In fact, the next time I’m around I’m going to drop by again.

Prime Rib with twice baked potato was fantastic. Also had the fried mushrooms with comeback sauce for an appetizer. They were amazing as well. If you are in the mood for seafood, the Redfish Veronica is a hit and others were raving about the Redfish Fillet. All in all, a great meal at price that is competitive with other locally owned steakhouses in this area. Give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Great food, great atmosphere and great drinks! Favorite steak in The area! Catch it on a live music night and sit in the bar. Only drawback is all the reserved table signs. Should be first come first serve!

Redfish is always good. One of the few places that gets broccoli cooked perfect. Good comeback and blue cheese dressing. The rolls are AMAZING. Best place for traditional cocktails in town. They do a Manhattan right.

I and my wife JUST left Kathyrn’s Seafood in Ridgeland, MS and it was an AWFUL experience! My wife and I went for a nice meal and to listen to live music. Things took a turn for the worse once we sat down and the table next to us openly and loudly began throwing out racial slurs repeatedly. When confronted, the racist bigot who said it the most had no remorse for his words nor did anyone else at the table. After speaking with management we were offered a free meal but the table was allowed to stay in the restaurant, I guess the owner was not offended by racism. My wife and I do not need a free meal but value our dignity much more therefore we left due to the ownership of this establishment finding this behavior acceptable. This business will never see another penny from the Triplett’s.

Great food! My wife surprised me by taking me to Kathryn’s for my birthday dinner. I had the Strip and it was cooked as ordered and very good. My wife had the prime rib po-boy which was very good as well. The service was great. We will be making this one of our go to places.

This place is a gem folks. Great food, service, and live music. There are so many good things here. Their Fillet, Ribeye, and Prime Rib are exceptional. The potato wedge appetizer is better than any fried potato you have ever had. Trust me — try them. The fried beef tips come with a gravy that has ample amounts of crack cocain in it. The Green Gradoo is yum-a-licious. Awesome bar. Friendly local folks. Hands down the coolest place to watch a ball game and eat and drink. They have live music every night and the get really good musicians. We eat there often. They staff is great. Go check it out. You will be impressed.

Food was great. Prime rib was succulent. The waiter, Taylor if I remember was very personable and attentive. We really enjoyed our dinner! The atmosphere was energetic but not overly loud.

I love this place. It’s an old-fashioned restaurant that uses great ingredients and cooks dishes that loads of restaurants served in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Their soup of the day is always cream-based and is always garnished with parsley. Their steaks are wonderful and perfectly cooked; they arrive sizzling hot on a plate straight out from under the broiler. The side item/accompaniments are huge and great; I always get the To-Do, which is a broiled tomato stuffed with their signature spinach, mushroom, onion, and cheese concoction called Gradoo. Very very comfortable décor and atmosphere. If you like honest, filling, old-fashioned food, this is your best bet in Jackson.
