We pasted thru here last Christmas and enjoyed the lights, atmosphere and food. This time thru we wanted to try again but was disappointed to find it closed. I asked at the front desk and they said it was sold and the new owner plans to reopen.

This place was a nice stop off the highway and much better than fast food, which was what we usually choose. The food was really good, but the place overall needs some updating and they did not not serve alcohol. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and the kids really liked the alligator, turtles and fish.

On a weekend road trip, my wife and I pulled off the interstate to try Jasper’s Porch. The menu was chock-full of delicious-sounding things, but we both fell in love with the menu description of shrimp and grits. I have a gluten allergy related to MS, and the waitress let the chef know — the sauce contained flour, so without a moment’s hesitation they prepared the dish differently from scratch for me. I’m so grateful they did, because it was the best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had. As someone who grew up in the Lowcountry, that’s saying a lot. :-) Thank you, Jasper’s Porch for a wonderful experience!

While passing through the area we searched Unilocal(as we often do) for some local cuisine. While this place has a beautiful backdrop, The building is old and worn. The food and service were below average. Very disappointing!

All we can say is WOW! Sit on the porch with a cool breeze, watching the turtles and alligators swim lazily by. Enjoy the terrific service and delicious, high quality food. Food allergies are no problem for them to accommodate(with a smile & Southern hospitality no less!). We will absolutely be back. My husband got the crab cakes, which he said were the best he’s ever had, and my pork chops with garlic butter and herbs were totally yum. Our sides: green beans, sweet potato fries, and grits, were also cooked to perfection.

My husband and I stopped for Sunday lunch as we were driving through. It was disappointing that the only thing available was a buffet but we gave it a try. It was $ 14 each and completely not worth that price. The choices were limited and the food appeared to have been sitting there for awhile. The porch out back is nice but not enough to make up for the lack luster food. Blah overall.

Because we were staying at the Quality Inn across the parking lot and we were extremely tired we decided to try this place. It was so relaxing to sit on the screened in porch and see the turtles and the local alligator swim by. The staff were friendly. Service was slow but we were in no hurry. The food was good – not great. Overall it was a good experience and we would probably eat there again if traveling this direction.

This is a hidden gem off of I-95. Great food, live music, and a beautiful porch overlooking a small lake with fish and turtles that you can feed. The perfect break on a long road trip. I will definitely stop here again.

Such a great place to stop for some breakfast! Service was great! So glad we found a somewhat local place to stop on our road trip! 2 of us had biscuits and gravy and 2 had traditional American breakfast! Delish. Their grits were amazing! Prices were reasonable(we are from NY so that may be why we thought that) so good! Stop and check it out! A very peaceful location to stop!

The fried mushrooms were really good. We ordered Cajun shrimp pasta with collars and broccoli. Very good. My grilled shrimp were small but tasty. The fries were perfect. $ 5 for a mixed drink. I think some of the reviews are old and the restaurant has a new menu and look. We will come back again when traveling this way. Oh, we got 10% staying at a hotel nearby. Cool. The view of the lake and the ducks are an added attraction.

Nice quick place to stop while we were on our way to Florida. We got the buffet for family of 4 the kids for free. Friendly service, great fried chicken, I would have liked more veggie selection besides the very well cooked green beans and corn. Otherwise a solid place to stop, we would go here again.

Waitress was great ! The food not so much… The waitress talked about putting yesterday’s soup and heating it up for the buffet special !! The food was cold on the buffet! I don’t mind paying 10+ for a good buffet but 13 dollars for that buffet was hard to bare ! Overall not a good restaurant.

Everything was delicious! The Low Country Cobb Salad with Grilled shrimp, gouda and bacon vinegarette was perfect for lunch! My only complaint was the wait was a little long, but everyone is very nice and friendly! Also easy access from 95I perfect when traveling!

Have just downloaded the Unilocal app and this is my 1st review: my family had a great meal last night at Jasper’s Porch. Shelby was our waitress and she was awesome. Gave us great advice on what to order. The fried green tomatoes and shrimp roll we had for an appetizer were delicious. The tomatoes were cut in thick slices so you could actually taste them through the light crispy fried coating. My son had the chicken fried steak with garlic smashed potatoes and a side of collard greens, my husband ordered the shrimp with Gouda cheese grits, and I had the fried chicken with perfectly steamed broccoli. All were delicious and since we are from up north it was a wonderful taste of southern cooking. The shrimp dish could have been a little warmer but other than that everything was excellent!

I stayed at one of the motels that is right in front of Jasper’s Porch. I ate here twice, during my stay in Ridgeland, because it was a four night stay. Menu was fairly diverse. They had seafood as well as chicken. They also offer a variety of drinks as well. My date ordered a seafood dish and I ordered a chicken dish. It took about 20 minutes for the food to come out. It was worth it. Both of us enjoyed our meal. Service was friendly as well. The owner came by and greeted us and said he had just taken over the place a year ago. I actually ate here a few years ago and this place was not as good. Maybe it was because the old owners were on the way out and did not care as much. They were retiring. For the two dishes we ordered, plus non-alcoholic drinks, the total came out to about $ 42.00. It was worth it. I came out here the next night as well and our tab came out to about $ 33.00. What I love about this place is the ambiance. It is very comfortable décor and you can eat under a enclosed patio and look out at the lake. I didn’t bring the kids on this trip, otherwise I would have fed the alligator and the turtles. Very interesting and fun place to eat. I would recommend it to anyone staying in Ridgeland.

3−½ stars for me. The food was pretty good, the outside dog patio on the water totally won me over. Plus it was screened in. The waitress was just ok but the table beside us had a better waitress. Really cute place. We were driving through the area and just happened by it. I would cry back.

There’s not much in the way of non-corporate eating along i-95, so we decided to try this place on our way home from Florida. I only wish I found the buffet lunch as tantalizing as the myriad flys hanging out on the food did. The lakeside atmosphere was nice and the service was excellent, but the food was sub-par at best.

Truly lakeside, and a little buggy when the wind is down. Not too bad though, my wife is really phobic and loves the place. The food is fantastic, as is the dessert. Prices are great.

Very good food and Michelle was very attentive. Fried chicken was delicious. Easy off and easy on 95. Better than fast food. Fresh buffet $ 9.00
