Tried the vanilla porter stout chili, delicious, great depth in flavor. Accommodating at the counter. Clean

Great grits — go check it out but bring your wallet. To be fair we had wine and dessert also. One can eat there reasonably if careful.

Absolutely amazing food. Best buttermilk fried chicken and bisquits and gravy since I left the South!

Amazing food, thoughtfully prepared with great service. Getting there means driving all the way into Ridgefield from I-5, but it’s worth the trip just to eat here. We went there for brunch on a Saturday and were very pleased with the choices and variety. The only down side was that I had no room for dessert so the tempting pastries will have to wait for another day. A great place to take visitors for anyone who lives in the area.

We went right when the ownership changed and have gone multiple times since. The food is on point. Staff is friendly.

We recently tried this again after the new ownership was in place We loved it previously, although the chef could a bit more interested in his friends then new customers but his food was delicious. The new staff seems to be getting settled in well. I believe our waitress was one of the owners as she seemed to have command over the staff. Our coffee was quite good and the little cow creamers were charming. The menu has paired down a bit and is quite different. I stuck with a burger and it was perfectly cooked The bun was fluffy and outstanding. My husband had the chicken sandwich and said it was pretty good. The fries were double cookes. I just wish the pickles were dill, not sweet. If your into sweets, they have cinnamon bund the size of a baby’s head. The place is small and the booths are snatched up fast. Will keep coming to see how they evolve the place.

Cute little diner. Clean and tidy booths and tables. Expedient, friendly service. The food was truly amazing. I’m pretty picky when it comes to eating out, because hey, my wife is the best cook around, and this was the best breakfast I’ve had in a restaurant since I can remember. My wife and I split an omelette and it was plenty.

I was actually floored by this place! From out of town and looking for a quick to-go bite, I walked out with 2 of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had in less than 5 minutes. The chef accommodated my «off menu» request and blew my husband and I away. The breakfast potatoes are off the charts– crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! And the house made breads and biscuit… Wow! Thanks to the chef for your talent and thanks to the house crew for your customer service and warm smiles!

Tiny Place was a great surprise. Had a Cobb Salad and Hubby had Fish and Chips. Servings were huge, delicious and nicely presented. No room for the luscious bakery goods but they were flying out the door. Only negative was it was very noisy and some sound dampening would be great since they will be serving dinners soon. We plan to go back very soon.

Service is unfriendly… haven’t eaten here since they reopened… Food was presented well, however I didn’t particularly care for what I ordered, however, the chef came out, apologized, and took it off my bill. We will try again. Hopefully the waitress(his wife i think) will be having a better day! I pray whatever is bothering her goes away!

The French toast was really thick. Overall I think that it lacked a little flavor. Next time I would get the pancakes because they taste delightful. The brownie was basically all fudge. It was decent but not really worth 5 bucks IMO. I wouldn’t really come here again maybe just to try their lunch as their breakfast menu was limited. I came at around 10 and their bakery display was nearly empty and it took a while for our food to get out. Our first waiter wasn’t very friendly and took a long time to refill our glasses even though there weren’t that many people there.

Pioneer Street Café is a quaint looking little place in the heart of Ridgefield. They feature some great local products and present their food very well. Sadly, the food does not taste as good as it looks. While their lunch and dinner items are tolerable(kudos to the panini’s) the«famous» baked goods are always dried out and their breakfasts leave a lot to be desired. Most items are excessively greasy. The flavor is terribly off too. As an example, the gravy for the biscuits and chicken fried steak tastes like it has soap in it. My wife wasn’t able to even come close to finishing her meal. The few times I have eaten here, I have regretted spending the money. I, as other reviewers have said, hate to rate a local restaurant so low but being in a small town is no excuse for poorly prepared food.

Not sure about the quality of the food– looked like standard eight-hour old bakery stuff. Went to take a seat with my parents when three minutes later a scowling woman approached leaned in close toward my mother and said«we’re closing early today. We’re not serving you.» One star for her unnecessary aggressive delivery without any other greeting or notification they would be closing. Not trying again later

I didn’t love it, or even like it actually. The food wasn’t good and there were bugs flying around. The place was really greasy/smoky and my clothes and hair stunk and my eyes were burning by the time we left. I also heard they are known for their dessert case but at noon it only had some lemon bars and a few brownies and cookies. Maybe I was there on an off day?

HORRIBLE breakfast. Everything came out cold and over cooked. The chicken fried steak was NOT homemade it was a preformed frozen patty. I can’t believe it had 4 stars, maybe it’s their lunch or dinner that’s good. I hate to give a local restaurant one star but… it is what it is.

I found my way here after not realizing my first destination was closed and driving up to Ridgefield. Other reviews mentioned food and service which I found to be consistent with my experience. It was fried chicken night! I got a two piece mixed white and dark which yielded a breast and a thigh(just what I had hoped). The batter was OK, a little dense and not quite as seasoned as I prefer but that’s splitting hairs, TBH. The chicken was moist and piping hot when it arrived. The veggies, primarily squash(which I had also hoped for), were PERFECT. Still firm enough with just the right amount of seasoning. Mashed potatoes and gravy were also magnificent. The trio together? Divine! They were out of some ingredients for the first two cocktails my wife ordered but the whiskey sour she settled on was decent. Not a sticky sweet sour mix from a box/gun if I had to guess(though I didn’t ask). Took some time to get our order taken but we arrived at the same time as several other tables and it’s a small place with one person serving. I was appropriately staffed, we just got there an an inopportune moment. If you’re up in Ridgefield and looking for some well done interpretations of American cuisine give them a try. Relax and just enjoy a good meal cooked by someone who seems to love food.

Love, love, love this place. I send visitors to our farm in Woodland WA, to have breakfast on their way into Portland(South bound on Interstate 5). Always rave reviews!

I was worried about this place as it had some one star reviews and only 3 ½ stars total but I went in and checked out what they had to offer. Their first case of bakery items was amazing. They had these huge jumbo cinnamon rolls and a variety of cookies. The second case held muffins, scones, and amazing looking bread. I tried one of their snicker doodle cookies and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was rich but not to rich and a nice size. My family had a Pain au Chocolate which was very good and one jumbo cinnamon roll which was also very good. Our service was also good and the waitress was very friendly and nice. We were on a tight schedule but we would love to come back and try their dinner specials and sandwiches. Overall it was a very satisfying visit.
