Not easy to find motels in the Danbury region, as Rt. 7, the main commercial highway accessing the area has not been terribly built up. Like much of Connecticut, this section of the state prizes its relative tranquility that’s accented by rolling hills and narrow streams. So when a Days Inn pops up in the midst of this preserved countryside you either gnash your teeth or say thank God, the latter your reaction if you’re desperate for a place to stay with darkness fast closing in. For the sake of fairness, we’ll judge the motel by the latter situation. The room scores well for cleanliness and comfort. Linens are crisp and the sturdy mattress shows no sign that the Kama Sutra occupies a drawer in the night table. On the other hand, it was very small, allowing for limited area to open a large suitcase without having to navigate around it en route to the door or the bathroom. A reasonable place to visit, but you wouldn’t want to spend two nights there. Fortunately — again due to the dearth of commerce in the environs — there is an Indian restaurant on the premises. It’s considerably more upscale than your typical eatery adjoining a roadside motel. Service is even almost on the formal side. Nonetheless, the food was unexceptional, but your grateful for it just being there. Kind of out of the way, so it might be easy(as it was for me) to simply pull up and get a room. There are no interstates a short hop away and you’re on the section of US-7 where it begins to get rural and remote. But, I grabbed it at dusk on a Sunday night, so my experience might have been atypical.

My room key did not work. The manager mumbled something about a low battery and said I should call«0» on the phone if I had a problem. He did not explain how I could call him if I was locked out of the room. He would not fix the problem or move me to another room. He was far more interested in rushing off to whatever he was doing somewhere behind the front desk(I heard a microwave a lot; it was 9 pm). I was tempted to call him every half hour to test his promise, but i was too tired to do that or argue for a refund and find another hotel. I locked myself in and slept. The lobby was undergoing renovation. No chairs were provided for patrons, although there was plenty of room. I will probably not stay in a Day’s Inn again if this is the level of their franchisees..

The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that it’s clean. The clerks are inattentive and rude. It’s absolutely impossible to get clean towels before 10 am and the breakfast is toast and cereal.

I used to have great things to say about this place but now I find the management to be creepy and rude. I’ve had to call the Days Inn corporate after they refused to cancel my reservation and were notified days in advance. The guy at the front desk was very weird and called my room several times with obscurd questions. This location is central to Ridgefield but I’d rather stay in Danbury than put up with this. DON’T STAYHERE.

It’s convenient to Ridgefield, low-priced(around 85 with AAA discount, and booked through ), my bathroom was recently renovated, and the television was recent and full of interesting channels. Those are some positives. The room smelled musty and it was unappealing. For more money, you can stay in Danbury at a number of reasonable hotels around the interchange between Route 7 and I-84. That location is a little further from Ridgefield town center, but you’re almost certainly driving, so the additional distance shouldn’t make much of a difference. TIP: There’s really no breakfast to speak of, but a few snacks and coffee are available in the front office in the morning. TIP: There are ground floor rooms that open into the parking lot — this is not a common-entry building. If you have issues with ground floor rooms, there is a second floor that you might be able to request.

I was concerned by some of the less than stellar reviews, I stayed here for 6 nights and found the place to be clean and extremely reasonably priced. I previously stayed at the extended stay USA in Norwalk and believe that this place was similar in quality and about $ 50– less per night(although Norwalk is probably situated). I did ask to see the room before checking in, and given the other reviews on here, and would strongly recommend that you do the same just to be sure for yourself. It is possible that my room was hand picked to be decent and I might just have gotten lucky. Good place, people who owned it were friendly and helpful and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

We’ve never stayed in more of a crack den. Period. * cigarette burns on the mattress * a dimly lit bathroom straight out of the movie saw * multiple wires duct taped to the walls * dirty walls and carpet * everything was broken * the smell from the Indian food restaurant downstairs permiated everything * they forgot to charge me for one night and sent me a nasty letter saying that we left without paying Avoid this place if at all possible!
