Went here a few times thinking it would get better… Nope. First off not sure if there is a problem with the machine of the vanilla soft serve, but it was always melted. I dont mean only on a hot or warm day either. The man is always very nice and more friendly than the woman. Before Summer the man was training a young boy and you just felt so sorry for the kid, he was doing a great job but the man in training was not and was on top of him about everything and making us nervous! We were the only customers in the store too! On one visit I asked for a chocolate milkshake but with hard chocolate and the woman became very agitated telling me «no we cannot put hard ice cream only the soft» hmmm never heard that before but ok… so I didnt want it. Very disappointed hard to believe over ice cream

I needed a major strawberry milkshake fix. It was the middle the winter in the middle of the week but they were open. The man was very nice but the shake was a bit off — too sweet. He adjusted it with more milk and gave me basically two shakes –but then it was too runny. The Teaneck Dairy Queen gets it perfect everytime but they are closed in the winter– alas!

This place looks closed from the street, at least when I went, only because i tried the door i knew it was open. There is a small old lady who is serving you ice cream. The cone i got was sad looking but from some of the other review maybe I should have gotten hard ice cream instead.

This Dairy Queen had been around since I was a kid and hasn’t been renovated since then. That being said I think it’s also the same owner which is kind of nice to know. The hard ice cream is actually delish. Today my husband and I shared a scoop of peanut butter ripple and cookie dough with chocolate shell on top. It totally hit the spot on this hot day!

First off, let me say that I love Dairy Queen and prefer it to most other ice cream chains.(Except for maybe cold stone, but they dont have blizzards. However, cake batter is super delicious.) I was curious about this dairy queen in Ridgefield, NJ specifically because«I USEDTOWORKHERE» after it changed hands. Previously owned by caucasians and now owned by taiwanese. I’ve visited this place during both ownership time periods and could absolutely say that the previous(caucasian) owner handled this franchise location much better than the current ones. The current owner, Don, is really nice and seems to get along with everyone. When I used to come in he’d give me free ice cream or two & we’d have some friendly chat. When I worked here I had alot of fun, in a way. If anyone of us messed up an order he’d put it in the side freezer and auction them off later at night to anyone who wanted them, usually for $ 1 or $ 2. Sometimes I think he just gave them away. The son is a bit stand-off’ish but is still fairly nice from my few years of experience working at this place during my high school years. And for anyone who thinks I’m being bias or racist, I am asian myself and again, I LOVE Dairy Queen. I seek out Dairy Queen specifically maybe because I used to work there or perhaps I just love ice cream, or both. Now, for the bad… The wife, Sue, usually seems to be the one doling out negative experiences. If the place isn’t busy, the soft-serve ice cream sort of sits in the freezer in the back, so when it is eventually funnelled out, it is wayy too soft to make a blizzard with. I remember her giving countless customers runny, milky blizzards and saying«No, this is how we do it at all Dairy Queens. All Dairy Queens are the same.» She always nagged the students/workers on making sure not to give too much ice cream to the customer, but less was okay. She even made a sale competition chart for the students/workers to compete for more customers. How is this even possible? A customer comes in when he feels like it, and we can’t go to the customer. In the same, if you’re the 4th cash register how are you supposed to even get a chance to ring someone up if it’s not busy at all? I have to admit, these are strange tactics. I usually visit the Teaneck, NJ location now for a better«CONSISTENT» product. Also, the owners are caucasian, not that I’m racist, but as I said previously, they seem to have a good handle on making decent ice cream. As I said, this location is okay, avoid blizzards and you’ll be fine. And try not to let the wife, Sue, make your stuff. On a side note, I noticed some reviews were being filtered for this place on . This must be the son trying to protect his family’s business appearance on the web. However, this won’t help much because the experience people have speaks for itself. Sorry, this location is last choice for me. They also don’t serve their blizzards upside down to the customers for fear of it spilling out. Unlike most Dairy Queens who serve it upside down to the customer proving it is solid cold & thick.

Chocolate dipped, vanilla ice cream cone. Just $ 2. Oh Yeah! When you get to the bottom section of the cone, unwrap the 2″ paper cover and EATTHEBOTTOMHANDLE as well. Some ice cream makes its way down there. Don’t worry about the wax remnants from the paper wrapper attaching the same to the cone.(If you know what I am referring, you have no shame– lol) Anyhow, come here and give your business to the Asian-gramps owner of this DQ.

This is my local Dairy Queen and I have never had a single problem. The owner and his wife seem to ALWAYS be there, so you always have quick service. They even remember what I got after my very first time in the store! The ice cream is GREAT and the topics are aplenty. I agree with the other poster… who gives one star because they don’t get a HELLO?! Come on now. Please dont let one misguided review keep you from going to this location.

This Dairy Queen location has been around since I was a kid. It’s located where the old«Ridgefield Circle» used to be, and can be found between Circle Cycle and Nick’s Quick Stop, at the end of a strip mall. This DQ is in a prime location — right near the crossroads of Grand & Broad Avenues, Edgewater Ave. and the Hendricks Causeway — you literally can’t miss it. You’ll have to park in a narrow lot that is shared by all of the other establishments on the strip. The building itself has several tables and chairs which are almost always vacant… probably because everyone is there for take-out. Although the management has changed since the 1980s, it’s a great DQ with all of the menu options you know and love(the Oreo Blizzard is still a personal favorite, perhaps I’ll actually try something different someday… perhaps not). Regardless of what a certain complainer said below(ouch, a 1-star rating because someone didn’t say hello to you? Seriously?!) I’ve experienced no issues with Dairy Queen of Ridgefield and they have never skimped on portions like some other places tend to do. This particular DQ is very active in social networking — check them out on Facebook.
