We stopped here for lunch and had fried oysters and a crab cake sandwich. Both were tasty — fresh, flavorful seafood prepared simply but well. The crab cake sandwich was excellent.

Crabs, yea, crabs. That’s what you want to get here. Well, you could go for other seafood, but its maryland, do as they do. While camping near by for Labor Day weekend, we opted to check out another beach and on our way back we stopped at Scheible’s for lunch. We all shared some of their crab balls which were awesome. We also shared the crab toast which is like a pizza with cheese and crab. For my main dish, i got a bunch of fried fish, including shrimp and clams. This place is super cheap and pretty damn good, so if you are in the area, its worth checking out. It doesn’t get any more«local» than this.

A Southern MD classic, Scheible’s is a great hometown place for good seafood. Not classy by any means, Scheible’s restaurant is practically the epitome of Southern MD life. If for some reason you’re in the middle of nowhere Southern MD, stop by for a taste of what the locals go for.

Scheible’s is not for the faint of heart… it is an experience, but less so then Courtney’s. This was my first dining experience in Southern Maryland and left an impression that will never leave me. The food is decent, but fresh. The service is slow by northern standards. The other patrons are very localish and I stuck out. I also still don’t know what a hush puppy is.
