We did their Sip and Stroll event for Memorial Day event. They honored a two for one coupon so for $ 10 both my mother and I were able to try 6 different wines at several stations set up on their property. Each station paired the wine with a small snack like pita chips and spread, trail mix, cheese, and chocolate. We even could keep our glasses which were made of plastic so they would not break. The winery also serves pizzas for lunch. We enjoyed walking around the grounds and seeing the tree-house pavilion, cave, and other secret spots that are not normally open. Fun experience and very good times.

Left Coast is our ‘go to’ winery. It is one of the very few wineries where we enjoy the entire selection of wines. We like that each bottle is made with grapes we can see growing on the property. This hard working family and staff tend to the grapes day and night, are thoughtful about each aspect of their farming, and they are restoring the surrounding oak savannah as well. We trust Left Coast wines and feel great drinking exceptional wine overlooking their beautiful rolling hills.

Great wine and great pizza! Owners are awesome and Judy was great! She’s only there on Sunday so make a trip out there and see her. Awesome!

This place is downright awesome. Good ambience, brick oven pizza, 6 wines in the tasting plus an extra freebie. Lots of places to sit inside and out. Corn hole and even has ducks! Need I say more? Ask for Tamara. She’s the sweetest lady ever and if you start talking Netflix shows with her you’ll be fast friends.

I have been to Left Coast on a few occasions with groups. The first time was over Memorial Weekend and our group was fairly impressed with the grounds and wine. The Friday the 3rd of July we ventured back again. This time we were not greeted very warmly, as in they appeared to be more annoyed and rushed with us. It wasn’t until we started buying some bottles to drink there and to take home that the server became friendly(she has reddish hair). The whole time my husband kept leaning over after she would give us our«splash» of a pour/taste and say«I don’t feel very welcome here»… unfortunately the rest of our group got that same vibe and Left Coast will probably go down to the bottom of the list to visit again.

So hard to find wineries that serve food. This place kills on both. Small setting, excellent food, beautiful wines.

Wow! Great wine, fantastic property(now mind you I came on a beautiful SUNNY day in Oregon) with lake and trees and shaded areas to sit, inside and out, with things for the non-drinkers to do like bean-bag toss and croquet. Little bites and also nice wood fired pizza stove(Friday and weekends only I think). Truly a top notch environment for wine tasting.

Great experience here! The wines are quite good. Cali’s Cuvee ’12 is top notch, glad I brought a bottle home. Truffle Hill also is an excellent selection. Suzanne and her staff were charming hosts and it was nice of the to take so much time with us. We did order a small cheeses plate snd the toasted walnuts really inspired my thirst. Great estate to explore in the future, nice work using solar power at the site.

I am a bit speechless. The service has definitely dropped since I came. We are here from California and drive here because of the great experiences we have previously had. I don’t think we really want to return. They hardly spent any effort explaining the wines to us… Rather disappointing.

Was recommended by another winery and will have to thank him. The wine is good not great but the patio is really nice and peaceful to sit on. They do serve food but we were going to pass until they mentioned a lemon, lavender pound cake that we were going to share except then we were told they were out. One in the afternoon and they were out on a Saturday, just not good planning. They did have a pinot noir blend from 2009 that had a nice background of white pepper.

My husband and I stopped her for a late lunch on our way through Oregon. The scenery leading out to the winery is very rustic and beautiful. The food here was good. I had the quiche, which was tasty but not extremely flavorful or memorable. My husband had a panini, which he enjoyed quite a bit. I think the food was a little pricy for the portion size. We also shared the red/white wine flight. I would say the wines are fairly average. I did really enjoy the white pinot, because it’s something I have never tried before. I would recommend tasting it.

When my boyfriend and I decided to road trip along the west coast, we made a point to stop at Left Coasts winery in Oregon — and so thankful we did! While we already loved their pinot noirs, the tasting opened our eyes to all of Left Coast’s delicious additional reds and whites. We had a lovely experience at Left Coast, thoroughly enjoying the tasting, lunch, and chatting with the owner, a former Denverite, Suzanne. We adore this winery; their wine club will add a nice touch to our collection(if we can manage to keep the bottles corked!). Would highly recommend and love to visit again!

Wonderful wines and café. Great view too — and they even have a refillable, sustainable magnum that you can opt for if you’re local and take it back for a refill for $ 30. The tasting room is not set up for conversation with the owners or winemakers like several others in the area so its more of a place to take a friend, have lunch, taste wine, and cetch up. It’s beautiful though and I love going there. The 2005 Pinot is delicious.

Café and winery. In a gorgeous, remote venue. We primarily came for the food, but I found myself challenged by our usual standards, i.e. sharesies. There were certain things I did not want to share here: 1. My chocolate chip with toasted coconut cookie. Made with potato chips and pretzels. Go figure. Does anyone know how to make this? Write me! 2. Tortilla soup. A richly seasoned, chunky, roasted tomato soup with cumin highlights and corn. Way too perfect for consumption. I am going to have to pursue that recipe, too. These will be lasting memories. But just so you know, the rest of the meal was quite good too. Mr. B ordered the brie and black forest ham panini on artisan bread, with a fig and onion jam, beautifully caramelized. The ham, so thinly sliced, was smoky and moist, and generous. The cheese and onion were perfect compliments. His plate was embellished with some good Kettle chips. Mine was the 3 cheese Mac n Cheese. A creamy mac, I only wish it had more sharp cheddar flavor. But it was still quite good, topped with toasted bread crumbs. It came with a baby greens salad with sweet cherry tomatoes, orange pepper slices and parmesan, dressed with a flavorful balsamic vinegrette. Generous servings, all. And friendly service. We left clutching a container of their carrot cake. Yum. The cookie? It did not survive long enough to get out the door. And the only reason I knocked my review down one star was certainly not for the food. Mr. B simply was not a fan of the wine.

Left Coast Cellars is a winery. But we came for the food because it is also an excellent little café. Here I pause to give a nod to the good people at the tasting room at St. Innocent winery, one of our favs, where we stopped in not for wine tasting but to use the loo and ask if they knew of anywhere to get a bite to eat in late afternoon on a Friday as we were famished and still had nearly three hours drive to get home. They suggested Left Coast Cellar’s café and an excellent suggestion it was. Torn between wanting to keep this our secret and sharing it with others, I’ll share it here… that’s what Unilocal friends are for. LOCATION A little tough to find, but if you have an up to date GPS it will get you there. The café is tucked way up a long road that takes you through 80 acres of Left Coast’s sustainably managed vineyards. At the end of that beautiful climb, you’ll arrive at a charming buliding that houses both the café and Left Coast Cellars’ tasting room. Next time we’ll go for the wine, but on this trip after three days of wine tasting in the Willamette Valley, we had reached our limit for the nectar of the grape. CAFÉ /FOOD The aroma that greeted us as we walked in the door, of simmering soup and toasting bread and cheese and baked things, was mouth watering. Literally. When the woman at the counter asked if we wanted to taste wine and I said no thank you, but we were famished and the people at St. Innocent told us the food was wonderful here she said, «The people at St. Innocent are right!» With exclamatory emphasis, just like that. We discovered for ourselves just how right the St. Innocent folks were. We had enjoyed some very good food over the course of the previous three days, including places like Jory at The Allison and Recipe Neighborhood Kitchen in Newberg and Red Hills Market in Dundee. And Left Coast’s café held their own with that fine company! With exclamatory emphasis of my own. There are menus on the table in the charming dining area. See photo. More items, daily special paninis as example, are on a blackboard near the counter. Paninis that day were two; ham and cheese with fig spread and roasted onion, and a vegetarian choice of tender zucchini and eggplant with goat cheese. We decided to split a panini and a bowl of the daily special soup, white bean and vegetable with ham. Both sandwich and soup were excellent, more than enough when shared to feed two hungry people and the total bill, with a cup of very good coffee included for me, was just over $ 15. It cannot be beat. Sadly, we had no room left for dessert and I didn’t take a piece of what I understand is their quite famous carrot cake home with us because later that evening a piece of carrot cake sounded ideal. Next time I’ll have the mac n cheese, taste some wine too, and end with the carrot cake. See? I like to plan ahead. SERVICE Everyone was friendly. This has a neighborhood place feel and we were made to feel most welcome. If this was in our neighborhood, we’d be regulars. SEATING In addition to the sweet indoor café, seating is also available outdoors in nice weather, and big pots of blooming things grace the outdoor patio. Lovely. THIS N THAT 1) Accessibility: Level in from parking lot in the back and all on one floor. 2) Bathroom: The loo here is tucked into the corner of the tasting room and is very petite for space. It would not be accessible to a person using a wheelchair or a walker. I’m relatively small person and as I closed the door behind me I thought a larger person might find this a tight fit. So, the loo is what it is and plan accordingly. 3) Retail: The café and tasting room space has retail items for sale, bottles of wine included of course, to browse while you wait on the food. Including honeycomb and honey from local bees. We bought some wonderful honeycomb to enjoy with cheese(and wine) the next day. Highly recommend the honeycomb. 4) Johan Winery Nearby: There was another winery drive we passed on the way up to Left Coast’s tasting room /café. Johan Winery is the name of that one and we think visitors to Left Coast may want to plan in a stop to their neighbor Johan too.

Wow! What a gem! I’d heard about this place from friends and I was *not* let down! All of the wines were VERY good, especially the ’04 Suzanne’s Reserve(their first vintage) and the ’05 Latitude 45 Pinot Noir. Only drawback… I didn’t get to have lunch there. :(Not their fault though! Next time, lunch will be had! Everything they were making sounded & smelled delicious!

Left Coast Cellars Café. Not just wine tasting but fantastic sandwiches. We enjoyed the beautiful day out on their patio with sandwiches and fruit. It is the only café or restaurant in the area but if wine tasting near there be sure and stop for a bite to eat instead of heading back to town. We were at their neighbor winery Johan Vineyards and they recommend we stop for lunch at Left Coast Cellars Café. Glad we did. Angey poured the wine for wine tasting and Devon made the killer Panini sandwiches.

I was expecting more from this vineyard I think. The long drive up and the views… the tasting room. Everything was in place for a four or five star review. Alas, I just can’t give it. I was underwhelmed. The ladies pouring were nice but I cannot even remember what they looked like. The wines were alright but nothing spoke to me. It was just going through the motions and although it was far from a bad experience, it also was not a «great» one either.

Left Coast Cellars is a gem of a winery found a little off of the beaten path in the South Willamette Valley. Signs on the property purport that the 45 parallel runs right through their property — which puts them in the exact same latitude as the Burgundy region of France. They have a great example of stainless steel fermented Oregon Pinot Gris and their Pinots Noirs have plenty enough of complexity to be very interesting. Even their Chardonnay(not an Oregon specialty) wasn’t bad. They are not that well known yet, but they have been selling their fruit to other winemakers for years. Great, reasonably priced wines with friendly service and a nice vineyard view make for a winning combination in my book. A $ 5 tasting fee is waived with purchase.
