One of the employees, Adam, spend over an hour helping me get my packing list for mountaineering school together. This included phone calls with the guides in New Hampshire to clarify what was needed. They ordered the things they didn’t have in stock, for example, snow baskets for trekking poles. More helpful than any other store I have ever been in. I can’t recommend them enough and have no reason to shop for gear anywhere else.

Gear and selection is fine– but why buy retail, when you can’t get any help. The entire staff in there talking and laughing with themselves. What are you doing? are you going tomorrow night? I looked at several items, picked up a few things, NOT once did anyone ask me if I needed help, or even said Hello. If you want me to drop some hard earned cash in a place you need to ATLEASTACT like I’m not f&cking invisible. don’t waste your time, order on line. On-line chats are more personable than this staff.

We walked in the store, walked around for about 10 minutes looking at merchandise and do you think one of the aholz working there bothered to say hello, can I help you, is there anything you’re looking for? Dead silence. Crickets. We walked out. I was astonished and have told other people about this who reported they had the same experience. Unbelievable.

Not very good help. Stood in the shoe department for 20 minutes without getting help when one of the employees walked around me twice. Disappointed as I was prepared to purchase two pairs of shoes. Wanted to try to shop local. Disappointed as I had heard good things

Solid selection of gear, shoes/boots and clothing. Items for kayaking, hiking, camping and general outdoors activities. Pricing comparable to other retailers. Knowledgeable staff. Great addition to Carytown.
