I was excited to try this place. It is awesome location and has the perfect set up of outdoor seating and people watching. That being said, my experience here was not great. I felt like I was a burden to my server. Anything I asked of him he made it seem like he was moving mountains. He also forgot to bring are appetizers out. The food is made to sound very creative in the menu. It really is nothing special at all.

I can’t say enough great things about this restaurant. My wife has lots of food allergies and the menu is the most accommodating we have found. And that includes living and working around Baltimore, DC and traveling to the Bay Area and southern Fl. Thank you for the consistency in a wonderful dining experience.

Came for dinner on a Thursday night: Atmosphere: 10⁄10 The interior is beautiful! Food: 5⁄10 Margherita pizza had no basil on it and it was a bit too doughy. Probably because the first pizza got stuck to the bottom of the oven so they had to trash it and start over, yet rushed it to get it out to us at a reasonable time. Also had the chicken panini, which was average. Nothing too spectacular, however, I did not get to try any of the more health conscious dishes such as the curried lentil. Service: 7⁄10 Our server was nice and friendly enough, but was definitely rushed/busy so there was a large gap of time between us being seated and having our order taken.

Love the overall look and feel of this restaurant! I had the pleasure of eating here for a late lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. The restaurant appeared packed on the outside but to our surprise we were seated fairly quickly. I kept it simple by ordering the roasted turkey panini with sweet potato fries. Talk about yummy! My colleague actually talked me into trying their brussle sprouts and OMG, they were seasoned to perfection. Who knew?! I definitely recommend giving them a try as they have a great deal of healthy options and they don’t lack flavor.

Excellent place for brunch. Spent Sunday AM in Richmond Carytown. Outdoor seating is really wonderful, the open feel even makes the indoors nice. Very cute place. We had the brunch and ordered eggs Benedict. Came as ordered the hollandaise sauce had a nice spicy twist. Eggs were cooked to order, I like my yolks a little firm and it came perfect. He chai latte was good. The service was outstanding.

Decided to give this place a try based on the interesting, positive reviews. My date and I arrived for Happy Hour, which runs 4:30 — 6:30, but oddly… only at the bar and on the outside patio. If you are seated at one of the tables indoors, you can’t take advantage of Happy Hour prices. As a result, the patio can get quite crowded & noisy during Happy Hour. The Daily is located catty-corner from World of Mirth… on the same block(and side of street) as the Byrd Theater. I had no trouble finding street parking at 5:30 pm on a Wednesday. When we walked into the restaurant, there were four young staff members(a male and three females) waiting at the reception desk. Oddly, none were smiling. I even made a joke about it looking like a meeting… and still, no smiles. Thought maybe I had crossed over into a socialist country… or a funeral. Strange. The open-air ambiance of The Daily is quite nice. We requested seating on the patio, to take advantage of Happy Hour pricing(cocktails $ 3, wine $ 4, appetizers are half price). Much of the wait staff is fairly well pierced & tattooed which seems almost odd given the fancy contemporary décor at The Daily. Our waitress was nice and the service from her and other staff wasn’t bad. There were a few times we had to wait to get her attention, but usually she was on top of things even with the crowded Happy Hour patio. We decided to try three of the half-price appetizers … calamari, cheese plate, and on our waitress’ suggestion — the nachos w/guacamole. Based on reviews here, we also ordered a side of crispy brussel sprouts. The appetizers were $ 5-$ 6 each after the HH discount, and the brussel sprouts were also $ 5(reg price). The best thing we ate was the crispy [grilled] brussel sprouts. Quite unique tasting. Apparently they put a light(vingerette?) dressing on them, which gives them a little tangy taste. Very good, though a little messy. The next best thing we ate was probably the nachos w/guacamole, though I’ve had better. I was disappointed with the portion size… I guess they use only one small avocado to make the guacamole and the chips didn’t taste especially fresh. The calamari was okay, but kinda plain. The Daily would do better to add a little more spice to the batter, in my opinion. The calamari comes with two dipping options… a white(horseradishy?) sauce and the other is a dark tangy sauce. I didn’t especially care for either so I ate most of the calamari without a sauce. The cheese plate was very disappointing mainly due to the puny portions of cheeses and especially, crackers. I think there were maybe only 4 – 6 crackers in total. We ran out quickly. The cheese platter is served with a heaping dollop of coarse mustard and jam, and only maybe 6 thin slices of cheese. It was the least impressive thing we ordered. I wouldn’t mind going to The Daily again for Happy Hour, for the ambiance and the good drink prices. If I’m hungry, I’ll probably just stick with the crispy brussel sprouts. The mussels on the appetizer list sounded good so I might give those a try too… though I suspect I may be disappointed, particularly with the portion size.

My sister and I went here for dinner, we were attracted by the great atmosphere, even on a Monday night they were busy, but not crazy. We started with a curry soup and beet and arugula salad, both were awesome. We both got a vegetarian bowl, mine was spinach, quinoa, sweet potato, and zucchini, it was delicious. Everyone around us looked like they were enjoying their food too, the deserts looked pretty decadent as well. Our waitress was very sweet and gave great service. Do happy we stumbled upon this gem. Highly recommend!!!

The Daily is my go-to place when I have people visiting me from out of town. It’s in Carytown, so it’s a super convenient lunch spot when you’re out shopping. You can also have a nice wander around the neighborhood afterwards to walk off the big meal you just ate. The restaurant itself is upscale without being overly formal and has options for everyone. I’m vegan, but my family isn’t, so this really is the perfect spot. I usually go for the vegan tacos, but I also enjoy the miso glazed tofu and the veggie burger. The portions are very generous, the space is beautiful(great people watching from the patio), and the service is amazing. If you’re looking for a spot for a nice dinner or brunch, The Daily is a great option. One last thing: make sure you use the No Wait app if you’re going during peak times. It can really cut down on the wait time.

This place is awesome, probably one of my favorite places to eat and grab a drink in Richmond. The staff is very courteous, prompt, and knowledgeable about the food and drink menus. I have been here countless times and have zero complaints. The Angus Turkey Burger Fig and Pig Pizza (Huge) Burrito Bowls Steak Salad Edamame Artichoke & Spinach Dip Guacamole Steamed Pork Buns Lettuce Wraps Can NOT go wrong with these food options.

WOW. My fiancé(vegan) and I(carnivore) love to find new places that will make both of us happy. Well I think we have found a winner. Tonight we tried The Daily. The service was great and we both had wonderfully delicious meals and a great overall experience. Everything we had was perfectly cooked and we’ll seasoned for the most part. The miso soup she had was flavorful and delicious. The steak I had was AMAZING. I can not remeber when I had a better steak. We are already planning a return trip. There is just so much on the menu that we want to try. WEWILLBEBACK.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Honestly, I wouldn’t even be writing this review unless it was THAT bad. Because I wouldn’t be writing this unless I was honestly saying do-not-go-here. Some people love this place. I think, at a glance, this place looks AMAZING. SUPER healthy options and checks all of the boxes for everything I would personally want in a restaurant. Great location with al fresco dining. But the food(which, by the way, is part of why you’re here) is ABSOLUTE crap. And I mean that. I’m not even picky. The prices are steep(I’m coming from DC and honestly would pay a pretty penny for nothing), and the food menu«seems» to live up to what you’re expecting for the dollar. But honestly, as someone who is not a picky eater, standard-wise, the food was SO not fresh. So old. And so dis-satisfying. Oh my gosh. I cannot recommend enough NOT coming here. Try anywhere else. I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I may have come here on the last day, before a shipment of fresh food. But my friend and I got completely different meals(they got a grilled meat panini and I got the ahi salad) and both meals were completely jacked up. The panini was super burnt. The salad was wilted and the tuna was hot and not its usual ripe red color(for ahi). Do you really want to risk paying a $ 70 tab for brunch and a weak mimosa or two in Richmond? I’m good. Never again. Next time I’m going to Sidewalk or Joes. At least charge less if your food is going to be bad.

The Daily is a nice place to go to if you’re already in Carytown, since I’m not sure I would go out of my way to have a meal here. My first visit here I had fish tacos, which were tasty but nothing too special. This more recent visit was for the brunch on Saturday. I visited the restaurant on the same day as the 10K so there were a lot of people in the area after the race having brunch. While it was probably more crowded than they usually are, my party of 3 was seated right away. Our waitress came right over and took our drink order. After bringing our drinks she said she would be «right back» to take our order, which turned into more like 10 minutes. Not that I need a waiter to be hanging over my shoulder ready to take my order, but considering we were ready when she brought the drinks and were sort of in a hurry, it’s always nice to have someone ask if you’re ready before they rush off. The food was good but more of a typical breakfast offering. I’m sure I’ll be back when I have more time to linger and enjoy the scenery.

So, I went there for a business meeting and loved it! The menu is huge. There is something for everyone. We happen to go when the weather had just turned nice. So although we didn’t sit on the patio, we were at the tables right where they open the large doors to the patio. The food was really good. I strongly suggest that everyone try the brussel sprouts. They were phenomenal. I wasn’t a big fan of the guacamole, but everything else was tasty. Lots of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. But still with plenty of choices for meat eaters. I will say, the dessert was disappointing… I know now not to order any when I go back.

I really enjoyed this restaurant! I went tonight and they had a full house– great atmosphere! Great service and the food was prepared quickly! I ordered the blackened fish tacos(3). They were so flavorful and well-made(guilt FREE)!!! I will most definitely go back to this restaurant(soon)!!! I love this place so much— went back 3⁄11 and it was amazing. I ordered the avocado blt! Perfection! One of the best features of this restaurant is the outdoor area! I sat at the tables right where the patio begins because there were soooo many people on the patio. Doesn’t get much better!

It’s bougie. We went here for a family birthday. Be sure to make reservations because they were BUSY. The interior is really nice inside. I ordered the Miso Glazed Twin Oaks Tofu. It was just okay. The portion size was pretty big, however it lacked flavor. I think I would have liked it more if it had more flavoring. I may go back and I’ll definitely order something else.

Oh, oh, oh, what a pleasant surprise. Initially I was disappointed because brunch was over at 11… go figure. I wanted to leave because of this; but my wise child wanted to stay… I am so happy that we did. I said yes to the turkey burger w/side salad and Bloody Mary. While my child had the crab cake sandwich w/sweet potato fries and mimosa. We decided to ½ our burger/sandwich, and to share the fries and salad. I have never, ever tasted a turkey burger that good, nor crab cake sandwich so tasty. But the real surprise was the fries… umm ummm Delics. Lastly my Bloody Mary had all the right ingredients. I’m use to mimosas with oj, and this one… well was different and surprisingly good. Overall a great impromptu experience.

A bright modern space full of green and gray accents, perky and fun. The Daily offers a menu loaded with 3 pages of succulent menu items-mmmm. Did someone say Truffled Grilled Cheese? Oh my. TONS of vegan and Gluten Free options! Wow! Our group tried the house made Guacamole(not bad for the East Coast. Oh Snap!) served with a watery salsa and factory made blue chip corn chips. I enjoyed the Seared Salmon Salad – boy oh boy, I asked for it to be extra well done and you would think I asked a French Waiter for Ketchup AND Ice. It was served medium, but hot and tasty over a bed of butter lettuce and quinoa. Tasty! Others in my party tried the tomato risotto, rich and thick and delicious, as well as White Cheddar and Avocado BLT served piled high on thick slices of dark bread. This is a great concept with solid food, a four star place for sure. However, in two visits there we have experienced snarky hostesses, snarky phone reservationists, and a reluctance to customize your order. Just keep in mind that the Daily knows better than you what you want for lunch, and you will be fine!

I LOVED the food here. I came for dinner on a Thursday night and was there from around 7 – 10 pm, during which time the bar was almost always full and there was a good crowd in the restaurant as well. The menu is pretty extensive so it would be difficult to not find something you’d want to try. From pastas, panini’s, fish, salads, meat entrees, vegetarian options, etc. My table ordered the seared salmon salad(huge!), the crispy skinned rockfish, and the seared scallops. We also got sides of crispy brussels sprouts and sweet potato fries. While I loved all the entrees, the sides all looked so tempting and they did not disappoint. I’m a big eater, so I loved that portions were large enough to easily share between two people. I’m not from the Richmond area, but next time I’m in town this is the first spot on my list!
