Since my regular butcher shop closed, I’ve been looking for another. I stopped in a couple weeks ago and chatted with the friendly owner and left with some Italian sausage and kielbasa as kind of a test-run. Both turned out to be very good, but the kielbasa was the star of that show. I cooked it very simply in a cast iron skillet with onions & peppers with a little Devils Backbone Vienna Lager as a cooking liquid. When the sausages were done and the beer had reduced by 2/3, I served it all with black bread and a side of good German mustard. It was very, very good. The prices are definitely fair — it’s more expensive than a grocery store, but then you can’t get hand made sausage anywhere near this quality at a grocery store. I’ll definitely go back and try a broader selection!

The Butcher at Bön Air is a great example of how a wonderful local business should be run. Excellent product, great customer service, incredibly friendly each and every time you walk in the door. They are also great at helping you figure out the correct cooking time for the different cuts and how much you need given the size of your party. I have never had a bad experience here!!!

I’m more than pleased with the service and quality of the product I purchased at this butcher. The meat was good for a fair price and I will continue my patronage to this establishment for all my butchery needs. My friend and I have decided to do a ride share periodically to save costs in gas to come here from the Fan in order to purchase our meat. Grocery store meat does not compare. For approximately $ 3.50 at Kroger you can get ground beef that tastes like nothing and looks like something squeezed from an intestine. You can also go to Belmont Butchery which will charge $ 10.99 for a pound of ground beef. The meat may be sustainable, but the price is not. Butcher at Bön Air’s ground beef is $ 5.99 and worth every dime. It tastes like what meat should taste like. I highly recommend taking the time to support your local economy and take your business to this establishment. Our support of small business is what creates jobs in our local economy.

Barry The Butcher runs a great, clean and professional shop. The meat is always fresh. Yes as another reviewer mentioned, Saturdays the ribs are on the Grill in their parking lot. It’s like a smoke signal for my nose to come get some of Barry’s Ribs… you will not find better anywhere. They have a large selection of meat obviously, but also pre-cooked items you can heat up if you are on the go. They are worth the drive if you are outside of the Bön Air Area, and if you do live within 10 – 15 miles, and have not stopped by The Butcher at Bön Air, you are missing out a a truely awesome selection of quality food for your grill or stove.

Do not waste your money on grocery chain meat. «The Butcher» is the absolute best Prime Rib Roast I have ever gotten. Beyond even a fancy restaurant. I purchased a 15lb. PRR, it was trimmed nicely and tied, ready to go. Excellent value. The quality of the meat and customer service is outstanding. nice to know it still one can still get both. The only place to purchase meats for an «event».

This place is a great meat market, very clean, well organized and the guys are so nice. From what I understand, each weekend they smoke rack of ribs and they are so popular that one must call ahead to reserve your rack. We bought one and devoured them! Wide selection of meat and everything looks so fresh. Just discovered it myself, but will going back quite regularly I’m sure!
