This review is really about the Credit Card service. Since I can’t find a suitable place to put such a review, a branch near their HQ will have to do. I used to use my SunTrust visa a lot; the interest wasn’t too bad, and I had plenty of credit. Then came the Sony Playstation Network hack in 2011, and guess where I’d registered it? Well, that’s no ST’s fault, and I was able to easily get 2 of the 3 charges reversed. But the 3rd $ 5 charge? Well, it took several calls and many weeks to get the finally reversed. After that, I never used them again. Fast forward to November 2014. I’m trying to obtain an old statement. I’m told it will take 7 – 10 business days. 2 weeks! Fine. 2 weeks go by, and it doesn’t turn up, and I’m told to wait longer. Finally it’s sent again, and again it doesn’t show again after 2 – 3 more weeks. I’m told I can have it faxed(by email is «insecure»). Fine, I give them my work fax number, and it doesn’t show up. Finally I call them, and I’m told, actually, no we can’t fax after all. The call takes a full 30 minutes — 10 minutes of which is spent on hold looking for the balance on my old statement — are you systems really so antiquated it takes 10 minutes to look something up? Finally, I have the statement sent to my work address, where it does in fact show up after 2 weeks. But I’ve had enough and close the account. So, in recap, the one star is for: * Not responding to messages within 24 hours like they claim * Taking forever to reverse the charge * Lying to me(about being able to fax) * Losing mail, twice(My mailing address is correct, I’ve received privacy statements from them). * Having circa 1990s systems that take forever. Discover has most of my business now, although I’ve become less impressed recently too. At least their customer service is very prompt and polite.

This is the best, friendliest Suntrust in town. Everyone here is incredible, they all know your name, they are all helpful, and all fast. The only complaint is the older(55ish?) white lady who was clearly some sort of district manager that yells at her staff in front of customers. She should be fired immediately. Love you guys though, serious.
