I reside in Florida, and travel a lot for business. I love to visit antigue shops, and The Robin’s Nest is one of my favorites in Richmond, VA! The owner, Robin Dean, has some beautiful items to include my favorite, vintage tablecloths. These tablecloths are starched and beautifully displayed. Each time I have the opportunity to visit The Robin’s Nest I buy one or two of these beautiful olé tablcloths and received tons of compliments when I display them on my tables. She also has a mixed of vintage china and jewelry and different items of furniture. In talking with Robin she is extremely knowledgable on antigues and can answer your questions on items you may be interested in; and, you can tell from the conversations she enjoys her work. I would strongly recommend The Robin’s Nest, especially if you live in the Richmond area.

One of the antique gems in Richmond, Robin’s Nest has a ton of vintage and antique china, plus a good mix of jewelry, lamps and other old interesting items. Everything is in impeccable condition, and I believe prices could be negotiable if you get to chatting with the owner(more about him later). My grandmother gave me her old Desert Rose china set(Which is 30+ years old at this point) and I found some accompanying salt and pepper shakers here. This is a great place to find the unexpected– and it’s very pleasant to spend some time in. It’s not overcrowded or junky, though there is a wide variety of items to look through and it’s not what I could consider high-end. It’s one of those stores you could come back to again and again– its comfortable, reasonable, and interesting. But honestly, the best part about this place is the owner. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and has been around for a good long while. I went in recently looking for a part for a bridge arm lamp I am determined to rehab, and he knew just what I was looking for, and could not only tell me what it was, but where to go to get one! The man is a font of antique knowledge, and he has a lot of passion for them, and doesn’t mind you picking his brain. Knowledge is power, and there is a ton to be had at Robin’s Nest.
