Well, the rented Jeep Compass is getting me around the globe. Or at least the local area. ‘Tis fun to drive. I’m gonna hate to give it back. The Point RIchmond Art Collective is a gallery featuring pictures, metal sculptures, photos, cards and all sorts of interesting stuff. I went there today as I wanted to restock my favorite«dog cards’ which are by Jim DeWitt. I just missed seeing the artist himself. Rumor has it that his family lives nearby. Never you mind, there was enough«browsing stuff» to keep me occupied. I picked up several cards, chatted with the«on duty» artist behind the counter and headed out into this little treasure of a community. Library, fire house, Victorian houses, boats, newly renovated Natorium(with tiles by Arlin, a member of the aforementioned collective) and lots and lots of scenic moments. Cute little places for rent, too. I’ll be back. Were it not for the dreadful traffic on Central Ave in El Cerrito, the Pt Richmond Art Collective would be only fifteen minutes from home. But… well, who minds sitting in traffic when driving a rented Jeep Compass… with the radio blaring. See you soon, Pt. Richmond.
