Love it. Especially breadsticks and cheese. And ranch sause and cokes with vanilla. But always slow at this location.

This was my first and last time visiting a Pizza King. Both the service and quality of food were atrocious. In terms of service, my credit card was incorrectly charged, so the cashier had to run the card twice. I hope it was done correctly and I don’t get double billed. Second, although I went in when it was not busy at the restaurant, several mistakes were made with the toppings I had ordered for my pizza. The pizza itself had a flavor profile and size comparable to a $ 3 Jacks frozen pizza from the grocery store. It was extremely disappointing. Moreover it was only lukewarm when it was passed over the counter to me, so by the time I got home(a 2 minute drive), all I had was a cardboard flavored mass of coagulated cheese to eat. The dough wasn’t even cooked all the way through. For the price(more than 2x what a comparable pizza from any of the other places I’ve tried for pizza in Richmond) I could have had a full sit down meal at almost any restaurant here. It was certainly not the delicious end of week treat that I was hoping for… it was so bad I nearly threw it away and tried again somewhere else. Won’t be back. :(

I don’t believe I’d ever been in this building until now. It seems to me that this was a Lawson’s convenience store that Mr. Pizza/Pizza King bought after Lawson’s was leaving town, just like the one at East Main Street and Henley Road. There were no customers but it was a bit in-between meal times. I had to speak in an extra loud voice to be heard by the woman behind the counter. It really was noisy for some reason, perhaps the air conditioning. I ordered an 11 inch original sub and an iced tea, with a coupon for the sub for $ 5.99. Drinks seem expensive, but they come with refills, and she brought 3 to the table before I left the building. I was surprised to find that tables hadn’t been cleaned. I know that an empty dining room doesn’t mean that they have no business. It just looks a bit undone when tables haven’t been cleaned. The sandwich was ready quickly and the tea had been at my table for a while. The first thing I noticed was how sloppily the sandwich had been assembled. Some of the meat was about to fall out but the cheese was holding it together. It was good, but I always wonder about the reason for the pizza sauce. Is it for the extra zing or is it to hide the ingredients? I’ll go with the extra zing for now. Of course, when a sandwich is messy, I assume that it will taste even better and it didn’t disappoint. It was tasty and messy and I needed multiple napkins. I could say that the meal was really expensive, but the sub was big with lots of bread, which was toasty/crispy in a good way. I’d say half of it is enough for most people at a sitting. So, as two meals or splitting it with a second person, it’s not a bad deal. As I usually say, the coupon helps at Pizza King.

Being almost a lifelong resident of Eastern Indiana I have to say that the Pizza King in Richmond has the best pizza around. You have to get the Royal Feast which has everything you could want on a pizza. They offer delivery which is fairly quick. When ordering from the booth at the restaurant you order from old fashioned telephones at the booth. Although it is usually busy the wait is not bad for anything you might like. The other items such as the subs are very good as well although I usually opt for the pizza.

A Chicago resident should know to not order pizza when visiting a small town, right? Well, I’ve been pleasantly surprised a few times, once even at a bar in Walker, Minnesota. So, boasting themselves the king of Richmond, Indiana pizza, we decided to order it. Meh…Pizza King was okay. Passable. Arrived hot, and is WAY better than frozen pizza, the dough was like you’d expect from a Domino’s or other«fast-food pizza», but lacked in the sauce department. Would I order it again? Maybe… if I’m ever in Richmond, Indiana again… which is doubtful.
