I tried out a very old Regal steel body resonator a while back. The owner wanted stupid money for it, so I had a written appraisal done by George Gruhn in Nashville, one of the leading experts on vintage guitars. Gruhn appraised the Regal for half of the asking price at Metro. When I presented this appraisal to Mark at Metro, he scoffed at it, and blew both me and George Gruhn off. With that, he told him to keep his Regal resonator. What bothered me more though, was the great collection of cool vintage guitars and tweed Gibson amps that lined the walls of the shop, none of which, I was told, were for sale. His remark was, «Everything’s for sale for the right price.» What an attitude. Don’t play games with me. Just give me a price.

Come on in and check out a whole bunch of junk. Metro Sound has the inventory of a teenager’s garage. The owner is pretty rude once he figures out you’re not going to buy anything, too. There are better places.

Not worth the time or money. The previous negative reviews are right on. The owner is horrible to deal with. Their business model is plain stupid. They don’t let people play the instruments! Isn’t this a music shop? I’ve never been to a shop where nothing is allowed to be played unless your buying. The inventory isn’t good enough to justify that. I’ve shopped at my fair share of guitar shops and even boutique music shops. This place has bad business and greedy owner written all over it. There are other stores in the area that are far friendlier and they actually let you play the instruments!

Good selection of amps, electric guitars, and other instruments. Selection rotates quickly as they also work something like a pawn shop buying and selling used instruments. I really appreciate the fact that they let me fondle and feel up all the guitars. I must have played and had my way with about 5 or 6 of them for 3 or 4 hours without the guy behind the counter so much as raising an annoyed eyebrow. He simply asked which others did I want to try out. The expensive one of course.
