Today my husband and I enjoyed a great lunch. I ordered the crab cake sandwich which was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the Scott’s Addition which was a very manly burger, topped with pulled pork and coleslaw.

Two words: Train Wreck All aboard! Although I’ve mainly only been here for brunch, it’s the best part of what they serve in my opinion and truly are serving some of the most unique dishes out here in good olé RVA. Love the mason jars they serve your water or oj in, had a rough night, come out, out the t-wreck in your mouth and wash it down with some mimosas. After all, were only here for alittle while, let’s live alittle bit! Service-this is where it only separated itself from 4 – 5 stars for me. Don’t get me wrong, service here is fine, just nothing extraordinary. Very prompt, textbook probably is best to describe this wonderful gem in the service department. I really do only feel the love from the food, the staff there is very friendly and have great recommendations, just never feel the love hahaha! Price-just fine. No conpalints, I’ve come here for dinner as well and never thought the portion, quality of food and taste was ever compromised with how much I was paying. Honestly have nothing negative to say and love there mimosa specials in the mawning Food– I love it. My favorite dish of course is the train wreck, but I’ve had their chicken and waffles, crab cakes and eggs Benedict and it’s all wonderful. They have outdoor seating so enjoy a great meal in the sun! Good Day!

Supper! Was superb. Besides being super cute and trendy the food was great! After spending hours touring VFAM we were hungry. We were a little too early for dinner(starts at 5pm) but there was still an overwhelming number of choices on the sandwich, salad and appetizer menu. We started with a sampler, it was good but a little odd for us. There wasn’t quite enough bread to pair with everything else on the platter. I ordered the crab cake appetizer and they were the bomb. The girls had the Ferryman flatiron and the River City Smokehouse. My niece who is the pickets eater I know loved the Ferryman. My daughter a bbq connoisseur was head over heals with the Smokehouse.

I love both Lunch and Supper. Great food, cute and different interiors, solid staff and service. Pescatarians and vegetarians have to get tricky with the menu, but the staff is always helpful in selections. I love the fried green tomatoes, just remember to order without bacon if you are vegetarian. The Triple Crossing is one of the best grilled cheeses in RVA. Lunch is a tiny diner, cute and quaint. Supper is a larger venue with lots of wood and fun things to look at in every corner. Supper also has outside seating, it isn’t special, but they did Sprite it up a bit with fun windows hanging around the area to give it a bit of charm. Get there early, or plan to wait for a table. Totally worth the wait!

Love this place. Awesome awesome breakfast and service. Have gone about three times now and each time have ordered something different and loved it every time. I love sitting at the bar area and watch the chefs working In the kitchen cooking all the delicious orders. Highlights last time I was in was the breakfast quesadilla and daily deviled egg.

Cute little neighborhood restaurant! I’ve lived in Scott’s Addition for a little over a year, but just now finally making it over here. You’ll notice when you arrive that there are 2 restaurants, one called«Lunch» and the other called«Supper». I went over to the«Lunch» side since well… it was around lunch time, haha. The Lunch restaurant is very small, like the size of a living room. I can imagine it being overwhelming when it’s busy, but since it was me and 2 other diners in there, it was pretty relaxing. I was craving breakfast food, so I ordered The Trainwreck. What a unique pile of goodness that was! 2 giant biscuits with house made sausage, eggs, American cheese, and sausage gravy with a side of hash browns. The meal was very filling and I could only eat half, but it was very good. The house made sausage had a great spice, not too fatty. The gravy was delicious, and the hash browns were perfectly seasoned and crispy. The biscuit was more dense than I’m used to, I’m used to something more flakey and buttery, but it was a great vehicle for the toppings. The American cheese didn’t add a whole lot for me, but maybe something like sharp cheddar would be better. My waitress was very nice and attentive, no complaints on the service! All in all, a very cool and quaint restaurant. Wouldn’t mind visiting again to try some of their other breakfast and lunch items!

I really, really wanted to like this place. I really did. Alas, no go. After hearing rave reviews, the fam and I found ourselves in the neighborhood after a birthday party and decided to finally check it out. For those that haven’t been, note that«Lunch» and«Supper» are different buildings with, apparently, different check-in’s and different waitlists. That was confusing by itself, but after 15 mins and conversations with servers on both sides, we were seated at «Lunch». Note: this place is SMALL! Like, maybe 10 tables, plus a small bar. I didn’t think that I was claustrophobic, but this experience made me think otherwise. We had initially wanted breakfast, but the timing didn’t work out, so we ended up going with lunch. I got the«Locomotive 231»(an open-faced meatloaf sandwich), the wife got«The Summit Ave»(grilled chicken with bacon, BBQ sauce, and cheese), and, since they do not have a kids menu, my daughter’s split the pancakes. Sadly, none of our entrees were noteworthy. The meatloaf was essentially a ball of meat the size of my fist on a single slice of texas toast, super dense and disappointingly dry… not only did it fall/crumble apart after cutting into it, the accompanying honey bourbon glaze wasn’t enough to re-moisten the meat. The melted swiss cheese turned into a shell over the meat which I ended up taking off and discarding because it was so tough. The wife’s sandwich was«OK», but it was pretty telling that she could probably make a better sandwich at home. The girls enjoyed the pancakes, but at $ 7, they were woefully overpriced for what it was. Perhaps we just caught«Lunch» on a bad day, or maybe breakfast at «Lunch» or dinner at «Supper» is better, but we did not enjoy our experience and given that it is nowhere near us, we will likely not be back. Shame, because we really wanted to like this place, but it just didn’t live up to the hype.

Took my daughter here for her birthday breakfast on a whim, and we were thoroughly impressed! Love the ambiance, the charm, the Vintage, yet trendy feel, and most of all, the food. I am extremely picky as to what I expect, and Lunch & Supper floored me. My daughter ordered the french toast with berries, whipped cream, and a side of hasbrowns and sausage– delicious! I ordered the Smoked Salmon Omelet witha side of hashbrowns, and it was fabulous. All for $ 22. Highly recommend this place!!! Will definitely be back very soon!

It’s been 39 minutes since I’ve gotten home from grabbing breakfast at Lunch and I am still in a food coma. I am on a «try new restaurants» kick and stumbled across Lunch&Supper. When I first walked in I was like… no. The inside is extremely small and I’m claustrophobic. After a few deep breaths, I grabbed a seat with my mom and gazed over the menu. So the pricing is comparable to like Denny’s and Waffle House. Totally inexpensive. However, what makes Lunch an outlier is the fact that their food doesn’t taste like wet grease. I ordered the Veggie Omelette wth a side of hash browns and my mom ordered the Trainwreck with cheese grits. Oh. My. God. So I’m supposed to be on this diet, right?(Hence veggie omelette) but I probably ate more of my mom’s food than my own. Don’t get me wrong. my omelette tasted like it was hitting the nae nae in a pan of butter, absolutely delicious. Hash browns were PERFECTION. But that Trainwreck… I’m still not over it. It’s homemade biscuits topped with homemade sausage, eggs, gravy, and cheese. Ughhhhh I’m going to have dreams about the Trainwreck. It has wrecked my view of what good breakfast food is. Like now I have to compare my food to it… it was that good!!! Pleaseeeeeeee give this place a try!

I’ve only been here once, but I want to go back again and again.(In fact the second time I tried to come back the wait was too long!) Our visit was on a cool spring day but seating on the patio was fine as there were large heaters to keep us comfortable. The staff is really friendly and helpful, too. These things set the stage for a teriffic meal. We began with a appetizer special that featured brussel sprouts, chorizo and shrimp. Cray combo but crazy good. Then back to the menu for some serious comfort food. I had the boneless fried chicken over mashed potatoes with an outrageously good cheesey sauce. Schweety had the meatloaf which was another comfort food winner. Nice wine and beer list. When you are in the meal for good down home food, This is the place!

Warning– there’s always a long wait! But it’s always worth it… from the fried green tomatoes to their salads(the Full House w/bbq vinaigrette is amazing!!) to their infamous Ferryman Flatiron(boneless short ribs over mac & cheese and onion rings — hello!) you can’t go wrong with anything you order. Definitely save room to share dessert too — the hot southern mess is my favorite.

This place is known for their brunch and when we walked into this crowded gem, we immediately understood why. We went to the supper side and was greeted immediately and asked where we wanted to sit. It’s not too huge inside, but a decent size and full of energy. Our server let us know of the specials, food and drink. I opted for the $ 3 mimosa and the hubby got the $ 5 Manmosa(which includes a shot of Vodka). They are served in Mason jars with crushed ice which is a nice change from the normal. Their menu had so many good choices that it was hard to choose just one thing. So we decided to try out the biscuit and gravy as an appetizer before our meal. Can I just say wow?!? That biscuit was the size of Texas and was fluffy and fresh and oh so good. The gravy was the best we’d ever had at a restaurant and rivaled the hubby’s gravy, which is saying a lot. That really set the stage for the rest of the meal. I ordered pancakes, which came with a side of cheesy grits. When they set down the plate I gasped because those things were as big as the plate. Needless the say, I may have eaten half of them(even with the help of my hubby), but they were light and fluffy and delicious. The cheesy grits were cooked perfectly and was a nice compliment to the pancakes. This place has great food and service and it definitely a happening place. When we left, there were lots of people outside waiting for tables to get in. This is a must visit Richmond establishment.

Went here with my husband and son as we traveled through Richmond on a college road tour. We were so happy we had read the prior Unilocal reviews and came here! The theme here is bacon and you find it in many dishes. We started with the pan fried(to-die-for) oysters plated in a thin strip of bacon infused tartar sauce. These just melt in your mouth; they are that good! For dinner, my son and I each had the fried chicken breast over bacon Mac-n-Cheese. The chicken was so moist, and the accompanying bacon cheese gravy was delicious! My husband had meatloaf wrapped in a bacon slice. He loved it! For dessert, my husband and son shared«Hot Southern Mess», which was a chocolate lava cake sprinkled with bacon dust. If you’re in Richmond, run, don’t walk, to this wonderful little place!

*Lunch review* I went to Lunch & Supper for brunch with a friend. The restaurant was busy, so we sat at the bar. I ordered a train wreck(2 buttermilk biscuits topped with sausage, scrambled eggs, and American cheese smothered with sausage breakfast gravy) with hash browns & cheese grits. The entire meal was filling and delicious! All ingredients blended very well together. Lunch & Supper gets busy fast, so expect a wait during prime hours. It’s best to call ahead for pickup if you’re on a timed schedule. Our server was very attentive at the bar. Prices were reasonable for most meals. There was private lot across from Lunch & Supper for customers. If lot parking is full, some street parking is available around the restaurant(hourly). Lunch & Supper is a great choice for lunch in RVA. I give Lunch & Supper a 4.5 rating.

I was super excited to try this place after some heavy Unilocal searching for our weekend getaway to RVA. We came here instead of eating at the joke of a breakfast our hotel had. And i was so thankful we did. Started with bloody marys which were nice and spicey and a great price at $ 3.50! I got the Last Stand and i loved the pulled pork in the burrito with the eggs. It came with sour cream drizzled over it with salsa on top, which made it hard to hold which i love to do with burritos, not a fan of having to cut it, but that’s what i had to do. The boyfriend got the Train Wreck and holy cow was it a lot of food. I snuck a bit and it was super good too. We both got the cheesy grits which were underseasoned so we had to add salt and pepper but were really good after the addition. All together i spent about $ 36.00 with tip. We will be back when we are in town again

Everything was good but was really expecting something much better at least from the reviews and hype I’ve heard about this place! I got the train wreck and though it was good I can’t say it was something I would wait for like some people do! Being that this was my first time hear I gave it the benefit of the doubt since it was an all around ok experience! Cool décor and decent prices. I’ll say the only thing that was a waste was the Krispy Kreme bread pudding, the taste was nothing great at all and for 6 bucks I’d save your money and go to Shyndigs for desert! I’ll definitely try them for Supper!

My dad has been talking this restaurant up for quite some time. I will say, this restaurant has a quaint atmosphere! They can only seat about 30 people(or less) in the restaurant. Something to note: they will seat multiple parties at the same table(table seating 8) if they are running out of seating. Food: the food was pretty good! For an appetizer, we had the crab dip which was pretty tasty. I ordered the shrimp and grits(available after 5pm). It was okay… Not the best I’ve had but also not the worst. My fiancé ordered the beef short rib and really enjoyed it! LOVE the sweet mint tea! All in all, a nice little restaurant to have lunch or a quiet dinner. Pretty good service! Daily specials and happy hour(extended to weekends)! This is a VERY popular lunch spot, so unless you go early, you may have a long wait! Enjoy!

I went to this restaurant for the first time the other week for dinner and it was very crowded, which is usually a good sign. But, it was so crowded that there was absolutely no place to stand, as it is a very small restaurant. The hostess recommended I wait by the bar, but there was no room, so I stood awkwardly next to a table while a couple was eating. After a few minutes, me and my party decided to wait outside. I informed the hostess that there is no place to wait inside the restaurant, so we were going to wait outside. She informed me it was a 45 minute wait. 20 minutes later, I come back in the restaurant and the hostess finds me and tells me that she called my name and I wasn’t there, so my name is now at the bottom of the list and it will be another 45 minutes. I talked to the manager/owner and she was very unhelpful and not very nice. Instead of leaving(which I should have done), I stuck it out and waited and finally was seated. I ordered the salmon, which was overcooked and a small portion. Overall, the food was fine, not good, not horrible. The average food combined with my experience is why I will not be going back to this restaurant. It looks cute and quaint, but it’s really not worth the money or the time.

Overall, My husband and I had a good dinner. I ordered shrimp and grits and was hoping for a decadent cheesy bowel of shrimp and grits. Their take is less cheesy and more spicy. This appears to be very popular with some but wasn’t my thing. I was disappointed by the small portion as well. I was so excited to try their famous Krispi Kreme bread pudding. This was my biggest disappointment of the night. it was literally a single doughnut in the bottom of a tiny ramekin. It did have a small piece of doughnut put in the middle. So technically it was 11⁄8 doughnut. Although it was tasty it was a rip off considering what a krispi kreme doughnut cost(2 – 3 bites). I could also tell that it had been microwaved for a very long time before servings. Our waiter was wonderful and I love the tiny boot glasses for beer.

Everyone must try this place. It is now a staple in Richmond. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny, about 20 seats. You can see the cooks in the back, and man oh man did that make me even more hungry. I had a group of six and was quoted for a 20 minute wait, and they honored that. The biscuits and gravy are TODIEFOR. The best I have ever had. I got bacon, scrambled eggs, and a side of their hashbrown potatoes. It was all seriously delicious. Their bloody mary’s are also really tasty! Worth the wait!

It’s not often that I know I’m going to enjoy a meal by my first impression walking through to door, but the Supper half of this establishment was just so inviting visually when you walk in that the food had to be great — and I was not disappointed. The outside looks like one of the old neighborhood corner bars where I grew up in Pittsburgh, and the inside reminds me of a cozy English pub that I had the pleasure of visiting a few years back in London. The menu is not something that you want to consider if you are dieting, as most of the offerings are on the hearty side — think bacon mac-n-cheese, open faced meatloaf sandwiches, braised short ribs, steaks, and a bunch of southern comfort food. But if you are in the mood to indulge and worry about the scale later(come on, you deserve it!) this place will not disappoint.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent. When you walk into the building, the lighting is dark and tres intimate. Seating is tight giving it a fun but sophisticated communal touch. There is more seating outside and on a chilly afternoon you are sure to be comfy and toasty next to the fire. The food was beyond delish. The portions were right for the money and we can’t wait to go back. Bravo!

There’s two buildings, I suppose that’s most appropriate to explain them but it’s fairly small in my opinion for both buildings. It’s best you call ahead if you have a large party just to ensure you have space. You’re more than likely to be split up if you have more than 7 to a table. The staff can be a little slow but their positive personalities make up for it. But there also isn’t much wait time and the ambience is cozy! Ive been here twice. The most recent visit I split the ferryman flatiron with one of my sisters. That thing was absolutely amazing. Texas toast bread with boneless short rib meat in between mac&cheese and onion rings! It was the most heavenly grilled cheese ever. It comes with a side of potato chips which I regret not adding into my sandwich! If you’re looking for something more on the brunch side I tried this great crabcake dish. It comes with two crabcakes on top of English muffins served with eggs Benedict on top. The side of grits really pulled the dish together. Overall I’m very impressed by this place! It feels a little overlooked but it’s definitely worth checking out when in Richmond!

The first time I came here they were doing a shark week menu so obviously I had to order shark. I chose the shark tostada and it came with a raffle ticket for sharky prizes– woohoo! I had to try to shrimp and grits and my date ordered the fried chicken with mac & cheese on it. My food was super, including the second time I ate them after microwaving. The second time around we were told there was a 30 min wait but got seated on 10! I had to save room for Krispy Kreme pudding so I split and order of crab cakes and loaded chicken with my friend. Washed it down with limeade in mason jars. Basically everything here is off the chain and I need to come back 20 more times to try everything on the menu! I was eyeballing all the trays going by, another table got 3 orders of meatloaf so that looks promising…

If I lived RVA, this would be one of my go-to’s. I loved my lunch at Lunch and it was in walking distance from my sketch hotel! It’s less than two blocks from the Comfort Inn Conference Center. After being a little disappointed in lunch the day before and having to drive to another part of town to find it, I couldn’t pass up something this good in the neighborhood. I loved everything about this place. It’s a little cramped inside but it wasn’t busy so I enjoyed how cozy it was. I had the train wreck which is like a bullet train to a heart attack, but how could I avoid this gravy covered locomotive. For my arteries sake, it’s a good thing I couldn’t finish it. My only downside is that my grits were super dry. I would say they need someone from SC to teach them how to do grits(not me, just someone), but I saw photos of ones that looked great after the fact on here. Guessing I just got the short stick on grits day.

We we’re attracted here from popular reviews and the loaded, yet reasonably priced menu. I would describe it as classy comfort food, with portions that are just enough. It seems like they have a great variety of specials and desserts that rotate so this might be a regular place for me to come back to when I’m in town! I had the Loaded Chicken with a side of bacon mac & cheese and grilled asparagus. Chicken had a peppery seasoning, BBQ sauce was on the sweet side and pulled pork was perfectly moist. Flavors didn’t necessarily complement each other, but I still found myself eating each part by the forkful. For dessert, I had the Krispy Kreme bread pudding. You can never go wrong with those donuts, and when it was served fresh out of the oven, it was AMAZING. Outside patio seating was beautiful at sunset and service was nice. I definitely want to come back for breakfast or lunch!

Cute cute spot. For those who don’t know, there are two separate buildings to Lunch and Supper. There’s the original one(on the right), which is smaller significantly in size, and the adjacent building(on the left), which was established in expansion to the original building. Both buildings have the same exact menus. The only difference is that the smaller building is only one that serves the breakfast menu and they do so all day. Just something to consider. My friend and I went earlier in the day, so we decided to get breakfast. Like one of the past menus mentioned, there was only one server working, which made the service a good deal amount slower than average. I don’t want to complain though bc she was very pleasant and helpful, but it would be a plus to bring at least one more person on as a server. I got the… Sausage platter(I think that’s what it’s called) and my friend got the wreck. Both tasted great and good portions. I’m kind of torn in terms of giving this place 3 or 4 stars. Just in regards to the breakfast, I’ll give it a 4. My reason for this is because I consider 3 stars to be just average, 4 to be above average, and 5 to be phenomenal. I think what tipped the scale to 4 is the ambience. I’m not going to lie it is cluttery and packed, but I liked it. The décor and vibes there were really authentic and the food was not«just okay and average.» Although I wouldn’t go so far as to say that this is my #1 go-to brunch spot in Richmond, I’d love to come back and try some more foods from here.

Love love love this place. Came here for the first time for breakfast this past week after it was recommended from some friends. There are two separate restaurants. The smaller one is where you dine for breakfast. I arrived soon after they opened, so there was only one other table occupied at that time. The server, who was very nice, helped me narrow down exactly what I should get since I wanted several options! Started out with a black coffee and water. For my meal, I went with the Buttermilk Biscuits and Sausage Breakfast Gravy(and I chose hash browns as the side) and also a slice of the French Canadian, which is French Toast layered with Nutella and whipped cream. Ahhhhh, everything was so good! The gravy was so flavorful! And the hash browns were amazing! There was not one thing that I didn’t like about this place. Highly recommend!
