A group of us went to this restaurant on our way to Wisconsin. The service was terrible. Then the food arrived all cold! I specifically asked for 2 eggs over medium. They came out uncooked and runny! Disgusting. The hash browns were cold. My friends had the waffle. The butter after asking for it 3 times could not even melt. Afterwards we asked to speak to the manager and the hostess came out very belligerent and wanted to know what we wanted. We asked for some kind of discount. Finally she said 10% off! Then they gave my friend a senior citizen the wrong change by $ 10.00 but by then we were on our way. Will never go back there. Worst breakfast ever!

So, we were on our way to the Dells, and drove past this gem. We saw a sign for a wine sale, and decided to pop in just because. We ended up buying a ton of cheese before we even left Illinois! haha. The cheese was delicious, and I haven’t been able to find the ‘blue cheddar’ I bought here anywhere else. We munched on it all the way to the Dells. Love this shop!

Came only for the cheese curds. Nice section of cheese. Alcohol selection was modest. Again only stopped for cheese curds.

Ahh, IHOWC. :) Having lived in McHenry for years, I’d been here for cheese curds I’d forgotten to purchase in WI. My last stop was no different: I needed to grab my mom some white cheese curds($ 8/lb) and also got her some smoked string cheese($ 5). I’ve had both before and they’re both just«alright.» It really is more of a liquor store than a cheese store, but still convenient.(And«YAY» for clean bathrooms!) There’s also a little restaurant next door(never been). The staff isn’t necessarily friendly, so get yer booze and cheese and get out. :)

Oh my lord is all I have to say. I don’t know which is worse the food or the décor. The décor is from the 80’s from the mauve tables & the decorations & the splattered food that was on the wall(oh & there is no way the wait staff doesn’t see this since they have to stare straight @ that wall while taking your order) to the loud obnoxious video poker machines right in the restaurant which can be seen & heard throughout the restaurant. The food was beyond awful. My husband had a California eggs Benedict that was so awful tasting he couldn’t eat it & I had a bite of it & the taste was so off putting it made me nauseous. I ordered the bacon waffle. Sounds good right? WRONG! The bacon wasn’t crispy it chewy & the hash browns were rubbery. How do you make hash browns rubbery? Needless to say stay away from this place. Oh & not to mention we were the youngest people in there & it reeked of old lady perfume in there. The liquor prices are overpriced by $ 8 for vodka. Save your money & buy it somewhere else. I’m sorry but there was NOTHING good or appealing about this place.

The staff is pleasant and this wine and liquor store offers a café too! The ambiance is a tad plain and bright but the fish special on Friday’s is very good. You can buy a bottle on wine in the wine shop, take it into the café side and have a fine bottle of wine with your dinner at store prices! I would go back.

Breakfast and Lunch is awesome here. Service is a little slow most likely because they make it by scratch. They have a good menu selection with typical fare along with more unique selections.

Mostly wine and spirits. Why mention cheese? I could obtain a larger variety and quantity at any good grocery store and at better prices. Cheese lovers, don’t waste your time.

Nice small out of the way restaurant. Good food at a good price. Maybe the best cole slaw I’ve had for a while.

The restaurant has an interesting menu, but unfortunately the service is very slow and the food very disappointing. A manager/owner and one of their cooks sat in a booth with vendors placing their order next to us. Perhaps this is why the food took so long to come out, since there was only one other customer in the restaurant. When the food still didn’t come after we asked, a different cook sat with the owner/manager and two more vendors in another booth. A second server was busy wiping down the booths. They asked them to try the soup and it came out instantly. When our food did arrive, it was ‘less than hot, perhaps a bit over the warm stage. The whites on the eggs on my Eggs Benedict were raw. The«Hollandaise» must have been from a mix, as it was tasteless and congealed. When this was mentioned to the server she said«oh, I’m sorry» and took our money. The other person had a half pound hamburger and the bun was stale and ‘crusty’ from age. Doubt I would return.

Nice selection of wine at fair prices. Their wine tasting events are quite good and worth going too. ok selection of cheese but really nothing exotic.
