Ib Floors stikes out with service and ethics! I have used Ib Floors twice now. The first time they did a good job installing wood floors downstairs in a rent house in Waterside. The second time I used them for a pretty big job with highend wood floors. The job was over 3000 square feet. Here are the issues: A) I was told I would be charged the actual cost of the bags of floor leveling they used(most homes do not have perfectly level concrete floors). At the end of the job, they told me this extra cost was over $ 1000. I knew it was a common for floor companies to charge outrageous fees for these materials, which is why I specifically negotiated the«actual cost». While they were performing the job, I took photos of the bags of floor leveling material. I found the exact same bags of material on Home Depot’s website for $ 5 per bag. Ib Floors attempted to charge me over $ 30 per bag. They swore up and down that they were only charging the cost of the bags and that they normally charge $ 50 per bag. Needless to say they were shocked when I showed them the photos of the bags I took and the corresponding price from Home Depot. B) After installation, there were dozens of hollow spots under the wood. I called them out several times to inject epoxy under the floor to fix this issue(which should not have happened in the first place if the floor had been properly leveled). Though they did come out and they did attempt to rectify the problem, there are still hollow spots and we have just learned to ignore the problem. C) The particular wood that was purchased was specifically made to be water resistant. Since we have fish tanks and dogs, I wanted to make sure the wood would not bow if it got some water on it. About a year ago, a fish tank overflowed. It was cleaned up within minutes, but to my dismay the floors swelled up and cost $ 1500 to repair. Ib floors made no attempt to help with a warranty claim from the manufacture. D) The last straw: The first job that was installed at a rent house a few years ago. It needed a new transition strip that was damaged by a tenant. I brought the broken transition strip into Ib Floors 2 months ago. I was told I would be called the next day with the cost of the replacement. I waited about a week and no one called me. I came in again and they said they were sorry for not calling me and that I would be called the next day with a status update. No one called. I left town for about 3 weeks and never received a call. When I returned to town I came back in and spoke with the other owner. He apologized and said he would have his partner call me that day or the next day. No one called me. About a week later, I came back in. This time I made it exceedingly clear that I was very disappointed in their lack of service. I spoke to the partner on that day. He said he would take over from there and absolutely positively call me that day or the next. He did not call. Several days later I came back in for the 5th time. Both owners were there. They basically ignored me for 5 minutes while both of them spoke in a Middle Eastern language to other people on their cell phones and to each other. Once they finally acknowledge my existence, I reiterated my dissatisfaction with their service. They said they looked for the part and could not find it. I explained to these young men that their service was completely below par and all they had to do to make me satisfied, would have been to call me, as they said they would over and over again. My conclusion is this. There are many many floor stores in the area. Prices are very competitive. You might save 5% if you go to Ib Floors and you watch out for tricks. However, if you have a problem, you will be on your own and worse yet, you will be frustrated trying to get them to give you after installation services. My time and frustration is worth more than saving 5%.

These guys are great! They did our entire 2nd floor and stairs in 12 hours! On Friday, they worked 8 hours on the floor, and Saturday they worked 4 hours on the stairs. They were very respectful of our home, quick, and professional. They finished on time as promised, and cleaned up after themselves. We liked them so much that we asked them to come back to do our 1st floor baseboard trim because our previous contractor damaged it during our cement staining process. I love their work. Honest, fair-priced, and quality workmanship. I highly recommend!
