During my stay in VA, I tried three Vietnamese restaurant sampling different Phở. I found this place to be the best. I believe what makes a Phở great is the broth and hands down Huyns got the best broth. The customer service as well as the cleanliness of the restaurant is also a plus. I would recommend this restaurant if you’re craving great Phở.

I have been to this restaurant a few times and today, I had the worst experience. As soon as I walked in, one of the waitresses told us to sit in one of the booths closer to the wall. However, the table that she directed us too was not cleaned. So, I opted to sit by the window. I placed my order. After I received one of the meals, and ate about half of the food(I ordered the broke rice with barbecue chicken); I realized one of our order of soup was never brought out. Then, I told one of the waitresses to check on an order. About 5 minutes past, I heard nothing. I approached another waitress to check on the order and she said she will. In the mean time, she’s bringing out other orders and never came back with an answer. I decided to walk up to the cashier and advise to cancel the order. They did not apologize or anything. I left no tip after I paid for my food and walked out. In addition, the waitress never refilled my empty cup of water! End of story, fuck this place — I will never come here to eat EVER again. Trashy customer service!

Always hits the spot! Wonderful, authentic, Vietnamese Cuisine. Branch out and try one of their Vietnamese drinks. They have a great selection of boba teas, Vietnamese iced coffee, and fresh juices. I had the Vietnamese iced tea, and it was fantastic. Crispy veggie rolls are a great appetizer, veggie phở is a hit, and I constantly crave their spicy crispy chicken deluxe dish. Now I’m hungry again…

Exactly what I was looking for here in Virginia. I was missing home [ Hawaii] and they have lots of phở places. This place hit the spot! Restaurant is very clean and up to date. Lots of seating. The service was on point. Never had to wait long for anything and prices are reasonable. From the crispy egg roll to the shrimp roll. Down to the phở and even broccoli and chicken. It was just amazing. Highly suggest dining here if you are craving phở or any other dish in general.

Great place! Probably now one of my favorite phở restaurants around Richmond area. The phở is tasty, crispy roll they make homemade, and they also have a variety of stuff on their menu(Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese kinds of things) so if you’re not in the mood for phở or vermicelli, you can choose other items. They also serve microbrew beers. kid friendly. Service is awesome.

Hands down great Vietnamese good on W Broad Street in RVA. This isn’t a «trendy» place like Mekong right across the street, but it offers the customer what they would expect from a good Vietnamese restaurant: great food, Vietnamese coffee, and bubble tea to boot! The service here has always been friendly and I’m a sucker for a good bowl of bun and spring rolls(fried or fresh!) and Huynh’s does not disappoint. My husband likes to try different rice dishes and phở and each time has been pleased. Huynh’s has its own parking(a huge plus on Broad!) so you shouldn’t have to worry about street parking. Definitely a reliable place for a solid meal.

Huynh’s produces consistent hearty Vietnamese dishes. I always go for their Phở and Rocket Shrimp; Oddly enough, I never seem to get tired of it since I’m a frequent eater at Huynh’s. They’re also very clean and I find customer service to be standard.

I hate to do this but in all honestly Huynh’s has gone downhill over the past several months. The last few times I’ve eaten here the food has just been sub-par. Some time back we ordered two lunch specials and the food was just bad. We shared a flat noodle dish and a crispy chicken one and neither had any flavor and they were really overcooked and really just gross. The next time when we had phở it just seemed kind of watery and flavorless. Well unfortunately today was the last straw so I’m redoing my review because Huynh’s just isn’t as good as it used to be and not NEAR as good as what you can get elsewhere in town(Phở Tay Do gives you a better bowl for less too, ~$ 6.50). Today I had a vermicelli bowl and a mini fried dumpling and they were both just bla. The dumplings had almost no flavor at all and then when dipped in the sauce it just tasted like some cheap peanut butter with water in it. They weren’t even crispy, they were undercooked and chewy. The vermicelli was not even assembled correctly. It had almost no noodles at all and a HUGE mound of cucumbers. It was more akin to eating a salad than a self titled NOODLE dish. The meats on the bowl weren’t good either. The chicken was so overcooked that it made the whole mouthful feel dry. If you’ve had these bowls you’ll understand the fish sauce makes them quite moist for mouth feel and this was just sooo dry. Then add in the massive amount of cucumbers and it was just … awful… Phở Tay Do or Phở Saigon are much better by leaps and bounds. We probably won’t be back for a long time. Bummer tho…

Awesome phở, had phở all over the country and it is one of my favorite place to go. I usually get my meat raw and cook it in the broth as I eat and it is the best way to eat. Service is always great and they speak English! Lol

I loveD this place. But a roach crawled across the table the last time I was there. I smell garbage as soon as I enter now. It’s gone downhill in the past 2 months. Don’t bother ordering a drink because they always forget to bring it but still charge you for it.

Been to so many Vietnamese places in Richmond but this is definitely MYFAVORITE! The prices are super reasonable, the atmosphere is relaxed/chill, but the food is the highlight of this place. Best smoothie bubble tea in the whole city of Richmond. I usually get phở, vermicelli, or broken rice dishes(not even vegetarian but their tofu option is amazing) but my friends have tried the red and green curries and LOVED them. They also make a seriously good hot and sour soup :) There’s not a thing I don’t love about this place!

This place has the BEST avocado smoothie bubble tea!!! They use fresh avocado and not powder. Trust me, try it ! 5 stars all the way there! Their fried egg rolls are the perfect appetizer ! In terms of phở, I don’t think their broth is as flavorful as phở so 1 but still enjoyable as any bowl of phở. Their vermicelli also isnt as good because they put an extreme amount of bean sprouts it’s overwhelming. The bbq pork is very flavorful though! Don’t get me wrong though, it’s still really good and I still come here quite often! The plus side of Huynh’s is that it’s very clean and looks nicer than most phở places. The people are also friendly!

Loveeeeeeee this place. I can go on and on about how great this place is but i’ll just make it short and concise. — Great phở portions(lots of noodles and meat) — Phở broth flavor = the best — Clean and nice décor — Best service — Reasonable prices — Amazing tasting food — Never a wait like a lot of other phở places I come here so often on the weekends, but I don’t think I can ever get sick of it. The owner is the same owner as the one for Vietnam 1 right down the street. I just come to this place because the place is nicer, it’s a little more peaceful, and I feel like I’ve became friends with the nice waitress lady :)

Huynh’s is right by my house and is a great place to go when I’m craving some quality Vietnamese food. Their menu consists of the typical Vietnamese restaurant-esque foods, but it is very nicely executed. Not only does it look nice, but it tastes great as well. They also sell bubble tea/boba tea and have an INCREDULOUS variety of different flavors — all of which happen to be delicious(my favorites are the coffee, honeydew melon, and taro). They also offer honey boba as opposed to the normal black boba. All in all, Huynh’s is usually rather quiet with a few tables and booths filled here and there. It’s not usually extremely busy, but they deserve more customers than they get. I hands-down recommend this place to any and all Vietnamese food lovers in Richmond. Especially for those who want an alternative to the more popular Phở So 1.

This is mine and my friends’ go-to spot for phở for those hungover mornings. Not only is this place very clean(especially for a Viet restaurant), they also have a wide variety of menu choices to choose from besides phở. The spring roll appetizer(2 rolls) is fresh and crispy and is the perfect appetizer while waiting for your entrée, even their food always comes out fast. I get the Phở(P3: round eye steak and brisket) and it always hits the spot– I love their broth because it is not greasy at all, which is a big deal to me. Their Seven Seasons Vermicelli bowl is their best vermicelli bowl and has pretty much everything in it from Grilled Pork, Shrimp, Fried Spring Rolls, etc. They also have Boba Tea– the green tea flavor was great but their boba was not very soft/chewy. At the end I only drank the slush and left all the bubbles at the bottom but I can’t complain too much since it’s not a bubble tea shop. Staff are nice and friendly, and splitting checks is easy since you pay at the register. They don’t accept Amex.

Great food. Awesome taro boba… probably the best in town! Good prices, nice service and a cute chubby baby that makes everyone smile!

YES! The food here is excellent. We got the appetizer sampler that has a fried spring roll, fried shrimp in a wrapper, pot stickers and fresh spring rolls. I got a Seven Seasons vermicelli bowl with just about every meat under the sun. Grilled chicken, pork, beef, sugar can shrimp, & Vietnamese meatballs. Everything was seasoned well and super fresh. We aren’t beer drinkers, but I hear they have an extensive menu. They also have Boba Tea. I’ve never had it. Maybe next time I will try it. The food at Huynh’s is WAY better than Mekong. Mekong is bigger and better for events maybe, but hands down Huynh’s wins in the culinary department. Now I have to plan my next visit.

I agree with others that the space/service is the highlight and the phở is pretty average due to lack of flavor from the broth. I had the combination phở, which had a pretty substantial amount of meat and noodles, but flavorful broth is what really characterizes good phở for me, and this is where it was lacking. The lemongrass chicken that my dining companion had was pretty decent, but nothing that blew her away either. The garden spring rolls were bland and smaller than what I’m accustomed to. The setting would make a nice spot for a date, with contemporary décor and low lighting at dinnertime. Also, convenient location and ample parking.

Straying away from our normal destination of Phở So 1, we decided to give another Vietnamese place a shot. This is one of those reviews that I’m really torn about(and you’ll see why later), but all in all, we were pretty pleased. –Food: I went with my main staple of Phở Tai Chin which is a rice noodle soup with steak slices and brisket. My fiancée went with Com Thit Nuong, which is grilled pork over rice. We also got a Rocket Shrimp appetizer and Rice Paper Rolls. –Phở: And here’s the main problem I have. I didn’t think the phở was great. I didn’t think it was bad either, but it wasn’t great. There were plenty of noodles and the meat was plentiful, but the noodles were overly soft(maybe a bit overcooked) and the broth was all in all not very flavorful. There were a lot of scallions that seemed to over power the broth. My idea of good phở consists of medium firmness noodles, a savory broth full of flavor, and tender beef. The beef was admittedly good and if there weren’t literally 5 other places within 5 miles that I’ve had better phở at I might be more forgiving. But there are. –Grilled Pork Rice Paper Rolls: Another small problem I have. These just weren’t as good as I’ve had elsewhere. The vermicelli noodles inside were almost chewy and the pork wasn’t that flavorful. Again, not bad, but not great. –Grilled Pork with Rice: My fiancée said that the pork on her dish was one of the best she’s had. It looked quite good too! –Rocket Shrimp: We got these without knowing that there are small onion strips in with the shrimp. For her, this was an unwelcomed surprise, but I thought they were fantastic. I also love onions with anything, so that may be why. I would definitely get these again as the shrimp tasted great and they didn’t seem overly oily from being fried. I will add that some of my Unilocal friends have stated that the phở here isn’t as good as other places and that the real stars are the other items. Perhaps I should have listened, haha. They have an incredibly extensive menu full of grilled meats, different kinds of noodle soups, and plenty of rice dishes, so next time I’ll have to try something else. –Cost: All of the above came to I believe about $ 25. Seems on par with the other Vietnamese places we visit. –Atmosphere: Big points here! There is a large private parking lot for the building and the interior is really well done. The lighting is nice and as many people have stated, everything is clean and well organized. It’s not a huge interior, which is nice actually, and provided a very comfortable experience. –Service: Also pretty good. Water was refilled often and service was pretty quick. –Overall: I plan on coming back. I won’t get the phở, but I genuinely am interested in trying the other things on their menu. If it weren’t for subpar phở I’m sure I’d be leaning more towards a 4 or 5, but I just can’t justify it yet. My advice for anyone coming here is to try one of the non-phở dishes and an appetizer. We certainly plan on coming back and when that time comes, an updated review may very well be coming too.
