Frischs Big Boy

Passing through. Had the soup and salad bar. Not bad. Good soup… Had seconds. I’d stop again.

First time trying this chain. Stopped in for a quick dinner bite. Was hoping the salad bar would be decent to try but it looked pretty depleted. We started with the Fried Pickles, which were advertised on the table as a special, but they came looking a little dreary/​sad. The server also forgot to bring a dipping sauce with them so we had to ask for it. Our table ordered the Fish n’ Chips, Burger and I had the Turkey Club Melt which was tasty. For our sides my dad ordered sweet potato fries and I asked for onion rings but when our order came, they gave us both regular french fries instead. Definitely a miscommunication there but we just ate the fries. And they were good. People were friendly enough. Place could use a good updating… it’s pretty old all around.

Had a good meal. Had good service. Enjoyed my slice of award-​winning pumpkin pie.

No stars. (Ok to post this I have to put one star, but it deserves zero.) Do not eat here. My boyfriend said other Fricsh’s Big Boys are great. This one was disgusting. The women’s bathroom smelled liked sewage. The pie case… looked discussing, the soup/​salad bar looked like no one has ever cleaned it, the menus were dirty, the seats in the booth were all torn up. The service was slow, the food was slow coming out and the food was gross when we finally got it. Don’t get me wrong. They were nice people… just wow. Spent $ 30 there and it was not worth it at all. The only thing that saved us was having some Dr. Pepper.

Oh my gosh, coming to this Frisch’s reminded me of everything I love about the south, and I don’t just mean the food!
Everyone here was so friendly! Our server was right on top of things, refilling drinks at exactly the right time, giving suggestions on what to get at the breakfast bar, she was cool. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the restaurant itself. The booth we sat in was very worn down and I was actually wearing shorts so it the seat was a little uncomfortable on the back of my legs. But all in all, I’m a fan.

I heard of Big Boys and wanted to try one. They let me down. I went with a ¹⁄₃ pound burger and salad bar with a vanilla flavored coke. The soda was mostly ice so the vanilla shot made the few ounces of soda too sweet. The salad bar had soup that was thicker than gravy and a thick skin. It tasted like instant mash potatoes and a lot of cheese wiz, one half spoon was enough. several items like the potatoe salad tasted sour maybe it was rancid. The beets were kind of funky.
So I set that all a side, eating only the grape tomatoes and cucumber slices.
my burger came out well done, asked for medium. it was still juicy, but the service disappeared and didn’t ask how it was. the main problem was the bun was hard as a rock. I could only eat the meat. the roll was left on the plate.
the entire meal I was looking next door at the dairy queen wondering why I didn’t go there. A burger and fries there would have tasted better and saved me $ 6. So, I decided to do dessert there and called for the check.

First Big Boy experience and the order came out wrong. Ordered 2 Big Boys, one with mayo, one the way it comes… but received both with mayo. The onion rings were too cakey for my liking. The fries were okay. Bought 2 Big Boy piggybanks for $ 7 a piece. Not bad for a collectors item.

Server grabbing cake with bare hands and serving it. Gross !!Place is in need of repair. Out of menu items. stay away from this place.

Enjoyed the all you can eat «broccoli soup» and salad bar. They had a pretty good selection of items up there that you could add to your salad. The soup was so good I had a second bowl.
My kids said the pictures on the wall were kind of creepy. ;)

Used to work at this location in college and I can tell you first hand DISGUSTING!!! The food isn’t taken care of properly and the staff (mainly the management) is horrible. Worked there for only a week, left out of guilt on serving people the food.
